The years I was in the human world
Chapter 28: Master and Disciple
After his identity was revealed, Qi Yu put down his hands that were covering his abdomen. There was a hole there, but there was no blood or flesh in the hole, only a dark and empty space.
He stood up straight, all expression on his face disappeared completely, and he stared at everyone with a pair of lifeless eyes, which was creepy.
"Qi Yu, you...?" No matter how slow Wei Ruge was, he could sense something was wrong. He secretly made a gesture with his left hand behind his back.
Qi Yu's eyes moved and his gaze fell on Wei Ruge. He stared at him for a long time. When he saw that Wei Ruge was becoming uncomfortable, he suddenly disappeared from the spot.
Wei Ruge was shocked, but before he could react, he was grabbed by the wrist by the "Qi Yu" who appeared in front of him. The latter saw through the martial arts he practiced at a glance, tilted his head, and asked in confusion: "Zhu Tian Jue, are you Baili Changqing's apprentice?"
"So what?" Wei Ruge replied, and drew a talisman in the air with his backhand to hit "Qi Yu" on the forehead, and then stabbed with a sword, saying, "Don't wait to die!"
Wei Ruge's sudden sword attack did not hurt "Qi Yu" at all. He just swung the sleeve in his hand to entangle Wei Ruge's sword, and then hit the former's chest with a palm. Wei Ruge's spiritual veins were sealed, and the spiritual energy in his body was blocked, so he could not fight back.
Before Wei Ruge could respond, "Qi Yu" grabbed his throat again with lightning speed and lifted him up from the ground with his feet off the ground: "Let me ask you, where is Baili Changqing's female disciple?"
“Demon, stop being so presumptuous!” Seeing Wei Ruge being captured, other cultivators all came forward to help. However, they did not expect that “Qi Yu” waved his sleeves again, and the wooden door of the inn opened wide. A howling wind carrying dead leaves swept in from outside the door.
Twisted and struggling black shadows spread from under his feet to the entire inn, like a sticky swamp, tightly grasping the monks' legs and pulling them down.
The monks who originally shared the same hatred for the enemy suddenly became confused and panicked, and only cared about themselves.
"What is this thing? The more spiritual power I use, the faster I sink!" Someone said with a grim expression. He relied on the sword in his hand to climb up the wall next to him and barely stopped his body from sinking.
Just when he breathed a sigh of relief, a naked evil ghost with pale skin suddenly crawled out from the darkness, grabbed his thigh and dragged him down.
Everyone was busy with their own business, and Lu Zhouxue had no choice but to summon Tianbai. He and Xiao Fengzhuo stood on the silk thread hanging in the air, barely avoiding the invasion of the black shadow on the ground. Only then were they able to pay attention to Wei Ruge who was strangled by "Qi Yu" by the neck.
At this time, the human skin disguised on "Qi Yu" also split in the middle, and a female ghost dressed in red with a gentle face crawled out of the human skin. It was the red evil ghost who had attacked Lu Zhouxue before - Yin Ji Li Lanyin.
"Why are you asking me about my senior sister?" Wei Ruge was strangled and couldn't breathe. His face turned red and his feet kicked back and forth off the ground, just like a pig waiting to be slaughtered during the New Year.
Xiao Fengzhuo looked at the monks who had thrown away their armor and weapons on the ground, and Wei Ruge who was picked up by the female ghost and was about to be strangled to death, and said: "Mianmian, you hide up there, I'll go down to help."
"After all, he is Baili Changqing's disciple. It would be bad to let him die like this." Xiao Fengzhuo sighed slightly, knowing that he could not rely on anyone else.
After Xiao Fengzhuo finished speaking, he raised his hand and struck Yin Ji on the crown of her head with a powerful sword, but it was a feint. He then pulled out the crescent-shaped scimitar from his waist and chopped off Yin Ji's hand that was pinching Wei Ruge.
The energy that pierced the mountains and rivers dissipated the moment it landed on the female ghost's head, and the crescent-shaped scimitar didn't even touch Yin Ji at all. Yin Ji's entire body turned into a ball of ghost energy and dissipated, then condensed again three steps away from the two of them.
Wei Ruge covered his throat and coughed continuously. Xiao Fengzhuo stood in front of him with the scimitar in his hand across his body in a defensive posture. Compared with the two men's embarrassed and vigilant appearance, Yin Ji, who was obviously at a disadvantage in terms of numbers, was much calmer than them.
Yin Ji had her hair in a neat bun, her skirt elegant and graceful, and her face beautiful and charming. She glanced at Xiao Fengzhuo, but didn't take him seriously, nor did she attack him immediately. She just said, "Commander Xiao, I won't cause any trouble for you, and you shouldn't get in my way."
"Empress Yin Ji, please don't joke. I'm just a Nascent Soul. How can I be a hindrance to you?" On the surface, Xiao Fengzhuo was practicing Tai Chi with Yin Ji in a calm tone, but secretly he was whispering to Wei Ruge.
Xiao Fengzhuo: "Think of a way to call your master back. This Yin Ji is a red ghost, we can't deal with her."
Wei Ruge said anxiously: "If I could have called you, I would have called you long ago. This inn is surrounded by ghosts, and the news can't get out at all."
Xiao Fengzhuo was speechless and choked up. He suddenly regretted meddling in other people's business. Wei Ruge didn't know what he was thinking and continued, "Why would Yin Ji, the Ghost King's right-hand man, come to Rongcheng and cause trouble for us instead of staying by his side?"
Xiao Fengzhuo was having difficulty escaping now, so he had no time to explain the reason in detail. He ignored Wei Ruge and turned to Lu Zhouxue and said, "Mianmian, this female ghost is very powerful. I can't handle it. Do you have any way to escape?"
"Are you three whispering in front of me?" Yin Ji's charming voice sounded faintly in the ears of the three people. She glanced at the two people in front of her who were on guard, and looked at Lu Zhouxue who was stepping on the silk thread high up and had already spread out the formation.
Wei Ruge's breathing stagnated. Yes, he realized belatedly that Yin Ji's cultivation was higher than theirs, so their secret telepathy could naturally not be hidden from her ears.
"This is not called whispering." Xiao Fengzhuo smiled at her, and said to Lu Zhouxue behind him without turning his head, "This is called an open conspiracy, right, Mianmian?"
"Yeah." Lu Zhouxue responded in a light voice, but he indeed agreed with Xiao Fengzhuo's words. He jumped down from the silk thread with a bunch of willow branches in his hand. His toes lightly touched the black shadow on the ground, and in an instant, the willow branches in his hand hit Yin Ji's face.
Yin Ji was just about to use the same trick again to turn into ghost energy and disperse, but she didn't expect that Lu Zhouxue threw out a string of broken Buddhist beads in his hand, which were like five soul-soothing nails that fixed Yin Ji's figure. The willow branch hit the female ghost hard, and Yin Ji's hair bun was instantly messed up, and an ugly braid mark appeared on her face.
Yin Ji's twisted scream pierced the sky. She took off her beautiful disguise and looked at Lu Zhouxue and the willow branch in his hand with resentment. She said sinisterly, "You think you can deal with me with something like this? You're looking for death!"
If a ghost is hit with a willow branch, it will be three inches shorter; but this is for an ordinary ghost. Yin Ji is an evil ghost who is responsible for the sin of destroying a country. To her, things like willow branches are more insulting than harmful.
"I know you are not afraid of this." Lu Zhouxue looked at the female ghost, his eyes remained calm. He casually swung the willow branch in his hand and said slowly, "I just want to remind you that this time I can use it to break up the girl's hair, and next time I can also pierce the girl's chest with the sword."
From beginning to end, Lu Zhouxue's tone remained flat. He stood there with ease, looking at Yin Ji with compassion in his eyes, clearly conveying a message - what he said was not a lie.
"What a clever mouth." Yin Ji did not show much fear in response to his threat. She smiled foolishly and looked at Lu Zhouxue with interest. "Young Master, you have said so much. If I don't give you some face, wouldn't it be disrespectful to the distinguished guest?"
"Then why don't you release the people quickly?" Wei Ruge said. Now, besides the three of them, there were only about ten cultivators left in the entire inn. The rest either died at the mouths of the zombies or were dragged in by the strange black shadows summoned by Yin Ji. The situation was extremely tragic.
"That won't do." Yin Ji's face changed, and she refused coldly. She moved lightly towards Wei Ruge, who immediately drew his sword to show his vigilance. Yin Ji lowered her head and smiled, and said to Wei Ruge, "Young Master, this reminds me of an old friend."
Yin Ji's words were spoken in a veiled manner. When Wei Ruge asked curiously, she stopped talking and turned to look at Xiao Fengzhuo and said, "Commander Xiao is so carefree, but do you know that someone is looking for you anxiously?"
"Oh." Xiao Fengzhuo responded indifferently, showing a completely nonchalant attitude towards what Yin Ji said. Lu Zhouxue, on the other hand, stared at Yin Ji warily: "What do you want to do?"
"Young master, it was you who broke into my Rongcheng, why are you asking me what I want?" Yin Ji said. She glanced at Lu Zhouxue, but turned and left, as if she was going to let it go.
Just as the three of them were gradually breathing a sigh of relief, Yin Ji, who had walked to the door, suddenly added, "The master has specifically asked for you, Commander Xiao, you must go with me."
After Yin Ji finished speaking, the shadow under Xiao Fengzhuo's feet suddenly climbed up, wrapped him up and disappeared without a trace. Lu Zhouxue rushed forward to stop it, but in vain he only grabbed a piece of empty shadow. Yin Ji at the door laughed and left.
As Yin Ji left, the mournful cold wind swept in again, and then the lingering evil spirit outside the inn disappeared. The obscured waning moon reappeared in the sky, and the bleak moonlight shone down. Lu Zhouxue's face looked as ugly as a demon.
Wei Ruge was also a little scared when he saw him like this, and said carefully: "According to what Yin Ji said, it was the Ghost King who wanted to see him, so nothing should happen for a while. Master should have heard the noise and rushed over by now, maybe we can block the female ghost on the road? Senior brother, don't worry."
Speak of the devil, here comes the devil. Baili Changqing, who had gone out to deal with the zombies, came back with a green-haired corpse in his hand. He saw that the inn was in chaos, with only a dozen people left. There was a purple handprint on his apprentice's neck. He frowned rarely and asked, "What's going on?"
"Master, you are finally back." Seeing Baili Changqing coming back, Wei Ruge felt as if he had been pardoned. He did not even bother to ask him how his master had dragged back the green-haired zombie when he was dealing with the zombies alone. With a sad face, he recounted in detail everything that had happened after Baili Changqing left.
Finally, he said, "Master, Xiao Fengzhuo and many of his fellow disciples have been taken away by Yin Ji. What should we do?"
After listening to Wei Ruge's report, Baili Changqing handed the green-haired zombie with a sword piercing its chest to his apprentice, asking him to burn it with yang fire. Then he cast a life-chasing talisman on the spot to make sure that most of the people taken away by Yin Ji were still alive.
Wei Ruge went to burn the zombies. The remaining dozen or so monks were still in shock and were busy meditating. Lu Zhouxue was worried about Xiao Fengzhuo's safety, so he walked over to Baili Changqing and asked, "Where were they taken?"
"Central, City Lord's Mansion." Baili Changqing glanced at him and replied.
Lu Zhouxue turned around and was about to leave, but Baili Changqing stopped him and frowned, asking, "Where are you going?"
"I'll go save him." Lu Zhouxue said, and it was obvious who this "he" was.
"How are you going to save her? There is a Yin Gathering Formation within a radius of twenty miles in Rong City. The City Lord's Mansion is the center of the formation. It has the heaviest Yin energy and is basically the lair of female ghosts." Baili Changqing still stopped Lu Zhouxue.
He stared into the latter's eyes and said sternly, "Without a plan or preparation, all alone, you can't even use your spiritual power in there, what do you think you can do?"
"This seems to have nothing to do with you?" Lu Zhouxue tilted his head and looked at Baili Changqing with cold eyes. Xiao Fengzhuo was captured by Yin Ji because he accompanied him to Rongcheng. He must take responsibility for it. "It seems that I don't need to ask you for permission to do anything."
Lu Zhouxue was certainly not trying to be brave now. If it weren't for the righteous monks like Wei Ruge who were restraining his hands and feet, he would have been able to fight Yin Ji to a 30-70 odds, instead of watching Xiao Fengzhuo being taken away right under his nose.
"I am your master!" Baili Changqing was so angry at Lu Zhouxue's disrespectful words that he almost attacked him on the spot. Fenghuang became Lu Zhouxue's disciple back then, and even though Nirvana has changed, Baili Changqing is still Lu Zhouxue's master in name.
However, Lu Zhouxue looked at Baili Changqing's disappointed and angry eyes, and slowly shook his head. He said, "You are not my master. Lu Zhouxue is Lu Zhouxue. You should not have forgotten that you came to Dongshan for your disciple Yu Zhao. Don't come to discipline me."
Lu Zhouxue turned and left. He had just stepped out of the door when Baili Changqing's usual cold voice rang out from behind him: "So, are you planning to disown me as your master?"
Before Lu Zhouxue could finish his words, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down from above his head and hit right at his feet. This was a warning from Heaven, which meant that even if Lu Zhouxue was not Yu Zhao, the master-disciple bond between him and Baili Changqing was still recognized by Heaven and was valid.
When a cultivator becomes a disciple, he must swear an oath that once he becomes a master, he will be a father for life. Anyone who betrays his master without reason will be punished by heaven. Now Baili Changqing still acknowledges Lu Zhouxue as his disciple, but he does not want to acknowledge this master. In the eyes of heaven, this is naturally a betrayal.
Fortunately, he did not utter that "hmm" in the end, otherwise he would have been punished like a bolt from the blue.
Lu Zhouxue stood at the door, looking down at a crater on the ground created by thunder, with a dazed look on his face.
"You are just the one who is chosen by the heavens. Do you dare to override other gods and discipline people at will?" In the Moon Temple that year, the gentle Moon God got angry for the first time. He threw the boiling hot tea and the pot to the ground. He expelled the foolish person who tried to subvert the divine power from the temple, turned around and smiled, "Brother Sui Miao, don't worry, no one can discipline us."
"Are you not afraid of angering the Heavenly Dao?"
"The Way of Heaven should not have seven emotions and six desires. The fault is clearly His." Xiao Yueheng chuckled, his face blurred in the bright moonlight, and only a rare hint of loneliness could be heard in his voice, "Are you scared? Don't be afraid, Brother Sui Miao, Axue is gone, and I won't let anything happen to you..."
Wei Ruge, who had just returned from burning the corpse, faced the awkward atmosphere between the two. He then looked at the marks on the ground that were obviously caused by the sword of heaven. Thinking of Lu Zhouxue's ambiguous attitude towards the master-disciple relationship, he could probably guess what was going on.
He sighed softly, patted Lu Zhouxue on the shoulder, and advised: "Brother, why do you have to be so serious about this? Master treats you the same as he treats Senior Sister."
Lu Zhouxue was staring at the ground in a daze when Wei Ruge patted his shoulder unexpectedly. He turned his head to meet the complicated gaze of the young man. The latter's words seemed to have touched the hidden pain in his heart. He murmured unconsciously: "Now even you are here to discipline me..."
I don’t know whether he is talking about the way of heaven or Wei Ruge.
