Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 44: Close Combat Use of Revolver

On the way to Emerald Ranch, Lin Yan asked Sadie about the legend of Emerald Ranch.

"It's not that scary actually. Some people say the owner of the ranch is a vicious bastard who likes to bully others and is also very strange. He has a daughter, but he never lets her out. Sometimes the ranch workers can see her through the window. But as soon as she finds someone looking at her, she will no longer show up."

After a pause, Sadie continued, "There used to be a tavern in Emerald Ranch, but it's closed now. There was a shooting there last year, late at night, and a young man died there. But he wasn't shot to death, it was said that he was scared to death. Therefore, many locals linked the murder to the ranch owner's daughter, saying that she might not be a human, but a monster that would go out at night to feed on human souls."

"Monster? How is that possible?" Lin Yan laughed in silence.

"Then how do you explain the man who appeared in the bar in the middle of the night, the gunshots, and his death there?" Sadie asked.

Lin Yan sneered and said, "How should I know? I'm not a detective. Besides, I haven't seen the scene." Then he said casually, "Maybe this man was high and had hallucinations, so he scared himself to death."

Lin Yan just said it casually, but Sadie thought about it seriously, nodded, and said seriously: "It's possible."

Lin Yan: ...

When they arrived at the Emerald Ranch, Lin Yan was attracted by a quarrel before he even got off his horse.

In front of a wooden house, a man and a woman were sitting on a bench and seemed to be arguing.

"Oh, come on! Why are you always making such a fuss? I told you I'd get the money next week, why are you pushing me so hard?"

"Come on, you said the same thing last week. If you didn't get it this week, who can guarantee that you will get it next week?"

"You don't believe me anymore? Don't you love me anymore?"

"Love, I love you. But this is a different matter. The money I get is barely enough for one person, let alone for both of us. I borrowed the money for you, and now it's your problem."

"My only problem right now is that you keep babbling in my ear. Stop it, Lily!"

Lin Yan reined in his horse. From their conversation, he could tell that the woman was exactly the one he was looking for. So he interrupted them in their quarrel and said, "Lily Mile, I'm here to collect the debt. How is the money you owe Mr. Strauss going?"

The woman stood up and replied worriedly: "I'm sorry, but I can't take it out now. Can you give us a week? We promise to return it to you next week."

Lin Yan and Sadie dismounted at the same time. Sadie took a step forward and said with a sullen face, "Next week? Do you think you are buying something and are still bargaining? I advise you to take it out today! We can still talk to you politely now, but that may not be the case later."

"Hey! Are you threatening us?" The man next to Lily stood up and glared at Sadie.

"You can understand that because you deserve it."

"If that's the case, I won't give you anything. Get out of here now before I get angry." The man clenched his hands until they made a creaking sound, and walked towards Sadie and threatened.

Seeing that the other party was about to fight, Lin Yan hurriedly blocked Sadie behind him. "Sir, I advise you to take out the money honestly, otherwise you will be the one who suffers."

"Oh? I'd like to see how you make me suffer..." Before the other party finished speaking, he swung his right fist and launched a surprise attack on Lin Yan.

When Lin Yan stood in front of Shadi, he was already on edge, highly alert to the opponent's moves. Seeing the attack, he used his 11-point agility to dodge the opponent's fist and quickly pulled out the revolver at his waist.

"Take my shot!"

Instead of performing the American style Iai, Lin Yan grabbed the handle of the pistol and smashed it hard on the nose of the man who was close to him.

He doesn't have Arthur's body of steel, so since there is a handy tool at hand, why not use it?

Unfortunately, the man's nose was broken by the collision with the steel. He didn't even have a chance to throw a second punch. He cried out in pain and squatted down, covering his face with blood.

"Oh! Damn it! You despicable guy! You actually broke my nose with a gun!" The man was no longer as vicious as before, but he still stubbornly said harsh words in front of his beloved.

Lin Yan pointed the gun at the man and slowly pressed down the hammer with his thumb.

"Just now I was just giving you a warning for not following the rules. Although I'm here to ask for money, I don't mind paying with your life."

Although Lin Yan's character Jamie Custer still looked a little immature, the black muzzle of the gun made the other party feel full of pressure. He swallowed hard and kept the dirty words in his stomach.

The man reluctantly took out a stack of banknotes from his pocket, tremblingly handed it to Lin Yan, and said in a lost voice: "This is all the money I have, I give it to you, this should be enough to pay off the debt."

Seeing that his goal had been achieved, Lin Yan put the revolver back into his waist, took the bloody bill with a little disgust, and after checking it, he took out $1 and returned it to the man.

"You gave me too much. Use the rest of the money to get your nose done. I'm not planning on giving you a facelift."

The mission was successfully completed, and Lin Yan stretched his body. "Huh! Mission accomplished. Now let's find a place to eat."

Then he smiled and asked Lily, who looked nervous, "Miss, is there a place to eat here?"

Lily Mile was still in a panic, and without thinking, she said directly: "No! There is no place to eat! This is a ranch, and the workers have to get their own food."

Sadie turned around, got on her horse and said, "Let's go, we can just eat something on the way."

After leaving Emerald Ranch, Lin Yan found an open space on the road and took out the only three cans of food left in his space bag: "There is no food left in the bag. I have to go to Valentine later."

"I'll pay half." Sadie took a can of strawberries and said casually.

Lin Yan nodded and did not refuse. In his opinion, this was a manifestation of mutual respect.

After a quick lunch, the two men got back on their horses and had not gone far when they unexpectedly encountered a group of people robbing a stagecoach.

At first, Lin Yan saw a few people surrounding the carriage from a distance. He didn't know what they were doing. He thought the carriage was broken down and wanted to help. But before he got close, the people next to the carriage fired a shot at him and warned him, "Boy, the O'Driscoll gang is doing something. If you know what's good for you, get out of here! If you meddle in other people's business, you might lose your life."

When Lin Yan heard the other party say that they were from the O'Driscoll Gang, he silently mourned for these people in his heart.

Brother, it's just a robbery, don't use the gang's banner, isn't it better to make a fortune quietly? Now it's good, if Sadie hears it, there will be no way for you guys to survive.

Just as Lin Yan worried, when Sadie heard the other party say that he was a member of the O'Driscoll gang, he drew the double guns from his waist without hesitation.

"I'll go kill those bastards." After saying that, she squeezed the horse's belly with both feet and galloped towards the enemies beside the carriage.

Lin Yan sighed and muttered: "Why are you so impulsive..."

He naturally couldn't let Sadie face the enemy's hail of bullets alone, so he hurriedly rode his horse and followed Sadie closely. At the same time, he took out the rifle he had seized yesterday from his space bag, pulled the bolt skillfully, loaded the bullet, and aimed at the man who was about to shoot Sadie.

"Bang!" Accompanied by a gunshot, the man fell down.

When the other two saw their companions being killed, they no longer cared about robbing. They threw away their belongings, took out their guns, and started to fight back using the carriage as a cover.

But how could these two gang members who were blocking the road and robbing be a match for Shadi and Lin Yan, who had mastered advanced rifles? Even with the cover of the carriage, the two men could not hold out for half a minute against the attack of Lin Yan and Shadi.

"Tsk... Practice your shooting skills more in your next life before you go out and rob! Colm is so careless in recruiting people. He even accepts people with such poor shooting skills. If these people were put on the battlefield, they would not even be cannon fodder. At best, they can only be used to build fortifications."

After killing all the robbers, Sadie dismounted and took the stolen property while mocking the other side's shooting skills.

She originally wanted to take the things and leave, but Lin Yan insisted on returning the things to the people in the carriage.

"We'll save them if we save them, but if we take their things, we'll be the robbers in disguise."

After saying that, Lin Yan grabbed the bag from Sadie's hand and threw it into the carriage, which had already been silent.
