Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 51 The Talking King

As soon as the black shadow's unique hoarse voice came out, a person instantly flashed through Lin Yan's mind.

There were only two people in the entire Van der Linde gang who spoke with a husky voice, one was John and the other was Sadie, and the obviously male voice was obviously John Marston.

When Arthur heard that the person coming was John, he stepped out from behind the stone wall.

"John, I've noticed that you've become smarter since the wolf ate half of your brain. Now you know to call for a few helpers when you act. You weren't like that a few years ago."

"Shut up! I know my limits when it comes to important matters..." John retorted, but he obviously didn't seem very confident.

Arthur sneered, walked over to the three men who had dismounted and said, "Obviously you only know one thing. I understand why you brought Charles with you, but what's the point of letting Sean come along as well?"

It turned out that John also brought two helpers, Charles and Sean.

"Do you think I want to bring this burden here? He insisted on coming here, and there's nothing I can do!" John couldn't help complaining when he heard Arthur mention Sean.

Although he was looked down upon by both of them, Sean didn't care. He first greeted Lin Yan who was standing in the distance, and then tried to get close to Arthur, saying, "Arthur! I heard about the train from Marybeth. How come you didn't think of your brother Sean when you had such a good thing? "Because I don't want to be shot by my teammates, that's all." Arthur replied indifferently.

"No, no, no, I think you must be jealous of me! That's right! It must be my youthful vitality that makes you feel threatened, so now you don't take me with you to any activities."

"What, I'm jealous of you?" Arthur seemed to have heard a huge joke. He held his stomach and laughed out loud. Not only him, but John beside him also laughed so hard that his mouth couldn't stop. Even Charles, who was always serious, couldn't help laughing out loud.

Seeing this, Sean said in dissatisfaction: "What are you laughing at? Am I wrong? Isn't it always like this in stories? New people take over, old people leave, and the old and the new take over. This is the law of nature, and even Dutch is no exception."

Arthur finally stopped laughing. He rubbed his face and said, "Hey, kid! This isn't a big operation. Besides, I need someone calm for this kind of technical work. Instead of taking you with me, I might as well take Micah with me. At least he knows how to shoot."

"The previous Sean died when he was caught by bounty hunters in Blackwater Town. Don't you want to see a brand new Sean?"

"Then..." Arthur looked at the confident young man in front of him, hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, "Okay!"

But then he added: "I hope your shooting skills are not as bad as before."

After hearing Arthur agree to let him go, Sean's tone became lively.

"As for shooting skills, you have to consider who you are competing with. Although my shooting skills are not as good as yours, they are at least much better than those rabble of the O'Driscoll Gang."

Then, he changed his tone and said indignantly: "Also, next time, can you please not compare me with that slick villain Micah? He is not worthy at all!"

"I agree with that." John, who was taking bullets from the saddle bag, interrupted, "Although that guy's shooting skills are indeed not bad."

"If you have anything to say, I suggest we talk on the way. Let's get going now. If we wait any longer, the train will arrive soon." Sean took the lead and climbed onto the oil truck, waving his hand to urge everyone, "Hurry up and get on the truck. I can't wait to slit some bastards' throats."

Arthur turned his head and looked at John who was distributing ammunition to everyone, and John happened to be looking at him.

"Alas..." They both sighed at the same time and shook their heads in unison.

After John had distributed the bullets, Arthur began to distribute them, "Jamie, go and untie our horses. You, Charles, and John will ride the horses, and Sean and I will drive the carriage. We can just let them follow behind."

Lin Yan responded, walked to the tree where the horses were tied, and untied the reins of the two horses from the tree in the moonlight.

After seeing Lin Yan also got on the horse, Arthur sat on the carriage and shook the reins lightly to start the carriage moving while announcing: "Gentlemen, let's go raise some money from those rich people!"

When the carriage reached the main road, Arthur said to John, who was following behind: "Have you found a good place, werewolf?"

"Well, there is a remote place. I will lead the way." After saying that, John controlled the horse to take a few quick steps to the front of the carriage, while Lin Yan and Charles continued to follow slowly behind the carriage.

Through the few contacts with Charles, Lin Yan learned that this companion of mixed black and Indian descent was a taciturn person. After thinking for a long time and failing to find a topic to break the silence, he had to open the map to observe his current location.

On the big map, Lin Yan saw that his group had just come out of a marked point called "Old Mountain Trail" and were now moving north.

"Is it true as you said, that the people on the train will stop when they see the carriage blocking the tracks?" Lin Yan, who was checking the map, heard Arthur ask John who was leading the way in front.

"During the months I was recuperating, I read a lot of newspapers, and there were several reports about trains hitting oil wagons, causing fires and burning train drivers to death. However, there have been no reports of this recently. I think it's because the railway department has strengthened the training of train drivers in this regard, telling them not to hit oil wagons."

"Hey, John! I just came back and heard everyone say that during the months I was away, you were always sitting with your feet crossed, pretending to be sick, and touching your new scars. So, how does it feel like not having to go out to work?" Sean started talking again.

Facing Sean's mocking question, John knew that this was his style, so he didn't get angry. "I don't know who told you that, but if you really want to, I can find a wolf for you to try."

"Oh, don't bother. What if you don't find it and get scratched by a squirrel or something else, then you'll have an excuse not to work for the rest of the year," Sean continued.

Charles, who was usually taciturn, saw Sean talking so much and couldn't help but mutter, "This guy is talking even more nonsense than before. Maybe it was a wrong decision for us to rescue him."

After pondering Charles' words, Lin Yan realized that he was talking to him.

"Well...looking at it this way...it seems...that's indeed...the case..." Lin Yan replied stutteringly.

"Charles, Jamie, I don't think you two should have rescued him."

"Saving him would do him all kinds of harm and no good."

Arthur, who had always disliked John, stood on the same front with him this time.
