Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 60 Pinkerton Detective

They were just two passers-by, Lin Yan just glanced at them casually and didn't pay much attention to them.

Just as he bent down to install the saddle, he suddenly felt like someone was watching him.

He turned around and found that the two "passers-by" were staring at him seriously. It didn't seem like they were looking at a stranger, but rather, as if they were examining him.

It was the first time that Lin Yan was stared at like this. He felt hairy all over and couldn't help asking, "What's wrong with you guys?"

The other party ignored him, but turned around and walked away silently.

Lin Yan looked at the two people's backs with a puzzled look on his face, and whispered, "What's going on? What are these two people doing?"

Just when Lin Yan was puzzled, the two men stopped at the place where Arthur and Jack were fishing. They dismounted together, one of them walked straight towards Arthur, and the other pulled out a short-barreled shotgun from the saddle bag and pointed it at Arthur.

Arthur saw the other party pulling out a gun, so he stepped forward and protected Jack behind him.

Seeing this situation, Lin Yan suddenly felt something was wrong. "Damn, is he looking for revenge on Arthur?"

Finding something wrong, Lin Yan didn't even bother to put on his shoes and ran barefoot towards the scene. While running, he took out the rifle from the space bag and held it in his hand.

The upstream where Arthur was fishing was more than a hundred meters away from Lin Yan. It was neither close nor far, but the stones scattered along the river bank greatly hindered his running speed.

Fortunately, the two strange strangers did not shoot immediately after dismounting, but talked to Arthur.

Fearing that the other party might do something bad to Arthur, Lin Yan did not try to get close. Instead, he found a half-man-high rock as a cover and shooting point, and aimed his gun at the man with the gun.

He decided to shoot first if something went wrong.

The stranger who was not holding a gun seemed to have noticed something during the conversation, turned his head and looked over here, then pointed in this direction and said something to Arthur.

Arthur nodded and shouted at Lin Yan with a serious face: "Jamie, don't shoot! You have nothing to do here, take Jack back first." After that, he pulled Jack who was hiding behind him, gave him a few words of instructions, and pointed in the direction of Lin Yan.

After listening to this, Jack first glanced at the two strangers, then threw down his fishing rod and ran towards Lin Yan.

Seeing that Arthur had made up his mind, Lin Yan did not ask the reason, but just replied, "I understand." Then he put away his rifle, picked up Jack who was running over, and ran back to where he had just been.

"Uncle Jamie, is Uncle Arthur okay?" Jack asked in a baby voice on the way.

"It'll be fine."

After comforting Jack casually, Lin Yan quickly put on the saddle, and galloped towards the camp with Jack.

On the way, Lin Yan, who was still confused, asked Jack three more questions: "What happened? Who are they? What do they want from Arthur?"

"Those two bad guys said they were Pinkerton detectives, Milton and Ross."

"Everyone fled from Blackwater Town just to avoid them."

"The one named Milton wants Uncle Arthur to hand over Uncle Dutch."

Jack answered Lin Yan's questions intermittently. Although his expression was not very clear, Lin Yan had already grasped the general outline of the matter.

Before, when I was in Valentine, Arthur told me that Pinkerton detectives were hunting down the gang. It's only been a week and they showed up. Does that mean the gang's base is moving again? I wonder where they're going to move to this time.

What exactly is the Pinkerton detective? An agency? An organization? They can force a small elite gang like the Van der Linde gang to run around, so they probably have at least dozens of members, maybe hundreds.

After returning to the Horseshoe Lookout and seeing that everything was back to normal, Lin Yan breathed a sigh of relief.

Abigail, who was hanging clothes near the entrance, saw Lin Yan coming back with Jack, and hurried over to take Jack, and asked in surprise: "Didn't Jack go fishing with Arthur? Where's Arthur?"

Lin Yan turned his horse around and replied, "Arthur is in some trouble. I'm going back to help him now."

Hearing this, Abigail looked worried and asked hurriedly, "What's the trouble? Do you want me to call Lenny and Javier?"

Without waiting for Abigail to finish speaking, Lin Yan controlled his mount and rushed out.

"No, it would be hard to handle with too many people. I can go alone."

At this time, Lin Yan's mind was spinning as fast as his horse. He decided that if the two men continued to threaten Arthur, he would use the Eye of Death to kill them. However, since they could find Arthur, they probably knew the location of the camp. Whether they were dead or alive, the camp had to be moved.

The player exists to give gang members a good ending. They will inevitably have to deal with this group of people in the future, so it’s better to kill as many as possible now.

He was thinking about this and that and soon arrived at the place where Arthur had been fishing.

The two Pinkerton detectives, Milton and Ross as Jack mentioned, had disappeared, leaving only Arthur sorting out the fishing gear.

"Jamie, why are you back again? Is everything okay at the camp?"

"The camp is fine. I was worried that those two people might do something bad to you, so I rushed back here to help you."

Arthur put the packed fishing gear into the saddle bag, and after listening to Lin Yan's words, he smiled disdainfully and said:

"They wanted me to do something for them, but they underestimated me and the Van der Linde gang. Although we are not a real family, we are better than a family. They made a mistake by wanting me to betray my family."

"Come on, let's go back. I need to discuss the future with Dutch."

When Arthur returned to the camp, he didn't even tie up his horse. After dismounting, he walked straight into Dutch's tent.

Dutch, who was sitting on the bed reading a book, stood up nervously after hearing Arthur's words. After hearing Arthur's next words, his expression eased a little, and he changed into a thoughtful expression, and walked out of the tent and paced.

After a moment, he seemed to have convinced himself, and his panicked eyes became firm again.

After whispering a few words to Arthur, he walked back to the tent, opened the drawer of the bedside table, took out a cigar, lit it and took a deep breath. With the smoke in his mouth, he sat back on the bed and picked up the book to read again.

After receiving Dutch's instructions, Arthur did not return to his usual leisure, but his mind and body were somewhat relaxed. He returned to his mount, took out the fishing gear and today's catch from the saddle bag, gave the fish to Pearson, and put the fishing gear back into the tool box under the bed.

"What did Dutch say?" Seeing that the gang was about to fall into the tiger's mouth, Dutch, as the decision-maker of the gang, could still read the book calmly. Lin Yan was very curious about what he said to Arthur.
