My Little Pony: Changelings

Chapter 9 The dream is broken

Manehattan has become more and more prosperous because of the mysterious trade route of the Duke of Sapphire. More and more ponies are rushing into Manehattan. This kind of pie-in-the-sky activity is simply giving away money.

But this was followed by constant doubts. All we knew was that the Duke of Sapphire had had dealings with a mysterious big shot, and that he was a big pirate from the south who could ensure that the trade routes would always be safe, and that even the Princess of the Universe could not change that. No one publicized this kind of thing, because after all, who could guarantee that the Princess of the Universe would not cut off their financial resources?

This false prosperity has made Manehattan change day by day. The city has been growing bigger and bigger, with more and more ponies, and it seems to be a thriving scene. In just half a year, the economy of the city has even surpassed that of Canterlot, the capital of Equestria.

Until one morning, the Duke of Sapphire and other nobles announced that they would select representatives from investors to follow the trade route to trade. Suddenly, the whole of Manehattan began to boil.

The final representatives and a group of merchants left Manehattan with the farewell of other ponies.

A month later, bad news came that the elected representatives angered the Storm King because of funding issues. The trade routes were destroyed, supplies were seized, and the transaction was over.

Manehattan began to fall into an economic crisis, and the ponies across Manehattan complained. In order to obtain better funds, the ponies invested their own money into it to get better returns. A month later, this confirmed their guess, and so the cycle began.

But this time they lost all their money, all the gold coins were depleted, shopping malls were closed, factories went bankrupt, and a large number of ponies lost their chance to survive. The rich life in the past six months made them forget the original hardships, and they fell into depravity and became ignored on the streets.

No pony knows what tomorrow will bring. Their hard-earned savings vanish overnight. Their friends and family are in trouble, and they themselves are in misery. The ponies begin to numb themselves, trying not to believe that this is the result of one night.

But when Duke Sapphire angrily and other ponies found the group of ponies who had elected representatives to vote, they punched them and there was no going back to the past.

And in this difficult environment, an organization calling itself the Savior Team was moving among the horses of Manehattan.

In the tavern, nearly a hundred ponies gathered together, listening to the unicorn's speech.

"Dear ignorant residents, you have all been deceived. In fact, the Duke of Sapphire does not have any trade routes at all. He is completely deceiving everyone."

Since they had no intention of hiding the facts, the Stars did not bother to deal with the details at all. The ponies were all overwhelmed by the huge profits and only now discovered that this trade route was full of loopholes.

As the unicorn on the stage gave an impassioned speech, many ponies were filled with righteous indignation and vowed to tear these blood-sucking nobles into pieces. So in a carefully planned conflict among the stars, the noble ponies laughed at them without restraint and revealed the truth, and then the Manehattan rebellion began.

The ponies cut off all channels of communication with the outside world to prevent the noble ponies from escaping Manehattan. Then, relying on their numerical advantage, they rushed into the nobles' manors and found mountains of gold. The nobles were having fun while they were sleeping in the open, and public outrage arose.
