Quick Wear: Saving the Sickly and Paranoid Villain
Chapter 412: Past Stories 22
"Knock knock knock, Young Master Lu, please open the door." A voice came from outside the door.
"What's the matter?" The boy opened the door and looked at the people outside calmly.
"Master Lu," the man in police uniform looked inquiringly, "We are looking for someone who ran away. Do you know where she is?"
"As you can see," the young man said calmly, "I have been staying in my room these days without leaving. My every move has been under your surveillance. What do you want me to know?"
"Aren't you curious?" the man continued, "Aren't you curious about who the person who escaped is?"
"Not curious."
"Heh," the man laughed, "Are you really not curious, or do you already know everything?"
"What do you mean?" Before the young man could say anything, the people from the Lu family got anxious and asked, "Do you think it was my young master who ran away with his men?"
"Don't you know how far the two buildings are apart? In your opinion, can our young master fly?"
The man's face darkened: "I don't know what this means."
"Then what do you mean? Are you trying to put the blame on our young master if someone disappears?"
"Calm down." The man controlled his temper.
"How can I stay calm? This incident has a big impact on the royal family, but does it have a small impact on our Lu family?"
"Okay," the man suppressed his emotions, "His Majesty has given the order, so is it okay for me to search your young master's room?"
"No problem, but we have to follow in too."
"Row."
"Master Lu," the man explained to the young man, "as you have heard, one of our important prisoners is missing. His Majesty has ordered us to search. I'm sure you won't refuse, right?"
"Of course." The boy opened the door completely and stood aside.
The royal guards went in first to search, and the Lu family member who was in the lead greeted respectfully before going in to search.
The young man looked calmly at the people who were searching, his slender white fingertips slightly clenched the corner of his clothes, trying not to look in a certain direction.
The guard searched the closet, under the bed, in the bathroom... anywhere where people could hide and anywhere where people couldn't hide, but found nothing. In the end, he had no choice but to leave with a frown on his face.
The Lu family members walked last. As they passed by, the boy heard the person next to him whisper, "Don't worry, young man. The master will get you home safely."
The boy glanced at the man, nodded, and quickly looked away.
Except for the four people who had been guarding the door, everyone else left. The boy stood at the door for a few seconds, then turned around and closed the door.
"Are you okay?" The boy pulled open the curtains and pushed the window to the sides, looking worried.
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw the little girl jumping in from somewhere, looking at him with her dark eyes, and whispered, "I'm fine."
The boy quickly closed the window, with disapproval in his eyes: "You shouldn't have come to see me, it's too dangerous."
"After this time, they won't come here at least in the near future."
The boy was still worried: "Then you must leave the day I go to jail, understand? Go find my father, he will help you, otherwise I really can't let you go."
Xu Meir looked at him for a few seconds, then said, "Okay."
A faint smile finally appeared on the boy's face.
"Have you eaten? Are you hungry now?" He took her hand and sat down on the bed.
"Not hungry." She hadn't eaten the whole day yesterday, so she was actually hungry. But she was afraid that once she said she was hungry, the boy would not be able to resist asking someone to bring her food. Such an unusual behavior would definitely arouse suspicion.
He was always rational, but when it came to her, he often lost his mind.
The fate between people is really wonderful. He and she have only known each other for a short time, but he is willing to give everything for her.
"But..." The boy stared at the little girl. He clearly noticed something. He turned his head away and said nothing. He felt even more resentful of himself in his heart.
Xu Meir gently held his hand, her eyes soft: "Don't be unhappy."
"I..." He wanted to say that he was not unhappy, but when he saw the little girl's eyes that saw through everything, he couldn't say anything. After a long while, he said, "I just blame myself."
"Why blame yourself? Blame me. Because of me, you lost everything."
The boy shook his head: "I only regret that I didn't meet you earlier, so you wouldn't have to suffer so much."
"Why are you so stupid?" Xu Meir looked at the young man in front of her, her eyes showing more complexity.
"Few people would say that about me," the boy's clear eyes sparkled, "I always know what I'm doing."
