Chapter 14 Zombie Zoo

Maybe he was really tired last night, or maybe for some other reason, but last time Li San slept for about five hours and was full of energy, but this time he slept until 1 p.m.

Nearly half of the survivors around were gone.

"We received a notice from the military today that there is a large evacuation point at the zoo, and many people have left under the escort of soldiers!" Cindy explained when she saw Li San waking up and looking around with a puzzled look on his face.

"Why don't you call me to get up and walk together? Little fool!" At this time, Li San's stomach made a rumbling sound.

"Are you hungry?" Cindy thoughtfully handed over a few burgers, which were even heated up. Li San felt touched.

"Then let's go too!" After quickly finishing a few burgers, Li San felt that his hunger problem was not solved.

"Yeah, okay! I'll go call Kevin and Mark, the two people who escaped from the bar with us. They took good care of me."

Taking advantage of the short break when Cindy was away, he quickly took out two large loaves of bread that he had bought for free last night from his system backpack and stuffed them into his mouth, only then did he feel a little full.

Since there were roadblocks everywhere, driving was not feasible, and riding a motorcycle was only possible by someone like Li San who could carry a motorcycle over obstacles, so the four of them could only walk.

After yesterday's bloody battle, although many soldiers and survivors were sacrificed, at least the number of zombies in the current area is no longer large-scale.

In order to save ammunition, Li San held a knife and led the way alone. Occasionally, the scattered zombies would drop some bullets into his backpack.

The large evacuation point is at the front gate of the zoo, and if you want to get there as quickly as possible, walking through the zoo is your best option.

When passing by the Raccoon City Cinema, Li San heard some unusual noises, like the sound of zombies pulling at the door.

After several reinforcements, Li San's hearing reached a fairly good level. Following the sound, he found an open window on the third floor of a residential building next to the cinema.

A woman leaned out of the window, pulling a rope that looked like it was made of sheets, took a swaddled baby handed to her by a man, and slid down to the ground.

Then, there was a sound like a pile of debris being pushed over, and then several zombies appeared behind the man, biting the man facing the window.

The man remained unmoved, still holding out his arms tightly to protect the woman and baby, and he landed successfully before slowly falling down.

Then a zombie fell from the third floor and crawled towards the two rescued people.

"Help!" Although they saw this scene very early, it was a bit far away and there was no time to rescue the man upstairs.

He ran over and killed the falling zombie with a single blow, then called the other three to come and protect the heartbroken woman, and then he rushed up the corridor.

Whether it was to help him get revenge or simply to clean up the zombies, Li San felt very uncomfortable after witnessing this scene. To use the words in the novel, his thoughts were not clear.

It turns out that these three people are a family of three. After the zombies ran out from the southwest area yesterday, the husband saw that the situation was not good and blocked the corridor with debris.

There was no problem at first, but the crying of the newborn baby in the middle of the night attracted a lot of zombies.

Maybe the gunshots outside were louder, or maybe the baby stopped crying, and the zombies outside dispersed a lot.

The residential building they lived in was behind the cinema, and the army's cleanup certainly could not be comprehensive. There were still dozens of zombies wandering around. When the baby's crying sounded again, these zombies broke through the door of his house.

There was no time to grieve. If they didn't leave Raccoon City, they would all die here.

The large evacuation point is inside the zoo, not far from the back door.

But by the time everyone arrived near the zoo, it was already three hours later. Except for a brief delay because the crying of the baby in the woman's arms seemed to be particularly attractive to zombies, Li San almost kept killing along the way.

The back door of the zoo was tightly locked with a large iron chain. There was no one inside the zoo. All that could be seen was bloodstains and animal carcasses everywhere.

"Look, there's a notice posted here," Cindy, who was looking around, first spotted the notice on the zoo map near the back, "This evacuation point has been lost. Evacuees can take the tram at the front door of the zoo to the western suburbs evacuation point."

Isn't this just teasing me? Li San cursed inwardly.

According to Cindy, they received a notice in the morning that the zoo was still accepting evacuees, but it became like this in the afternoon. It would be a pity if they went too late and the western suburbs evacuation point was no longer available.

But there is nothing we can do. The city is full of zombies now, and no one knows where and when the zombies will wander to.

Relying on his extraordinary physical fitness, Li San helped everyone climb over the zoo wall and prepared to walk in a straight line to the front gate of the zoo in order to save time.

The zoo was empty and the animals were not in cages. Occasionally, one could see corpses that had been gnawed to pieces. It seemed that the animals had also been killed by the zombies.

Just as Li San had this thought, a beast roar startled Li San, because he had not heard any noise before. You know, Li San's hearing is not comparable to that of ordinary people now.

"You guys hide in the restaurant of the zoo next door, and I'll take care of these guys." There are actually animals that have been infected and turned into zombies. These animal zombies are much more sensitive than human zombies.

The one that just roared was a large adult male lion. Because it was raised by humans, its size was one-third larger than that of wild lions. The roar seemed to be an order to the other animal zombies in the zoo, and many animal zombies rushed out from all directions.

Li San was not afraid of these zombies, he was only worried about Cindy and others.

After everyone escaped into the restaurant of the nearby zoo, Li San showed his prowess again. The Super Licker and the T-103 Tyrant were no match for Li San, let alone these ordinary zombies, even if they were transformed from wild beasts.

Among the firearms that Li San currently owns, only the green-grade Springfield rifle has a good killing effect on these beast zombies. However, that thing only has 5 bullets in a magazine, which is really a waste of time, so he might as well use a knife.

Faced with Li San, whose strength and speed crushed the zombies, these seemingly majestic beast zombies were quickly dismembered by Li San's Tang sword.

Just as Li San was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a loud noise was heard.

A zombie elephant broke through the wall of the restaurant and picked up a person from inside with its trunk. The person was a black man, not one of Li San's team. It seemed that he was a survivor in the zoo.

The zombie elephant was extremely powerful, and its long trunk quickly rolled up the black man to death.

In order to prevent it from attacking other people in the zoo, Li San took out his gun and shot at the elephant just to attract its attention.

Sure enough, these few pistol shots, which did not cause much damage but were extremely insulting, hit the elephant's face. The elephant turned around and rushed towards Li San, but its huge size made Li San have to exert a lot of effort.

But it's just a bit of effort.

"The man just now was the zoo manager. He said that the zoo's main gate was closed and the power system must be restarted to open it!" After meeting up with Cindy and others, Cindy told Li San what she had seen and heard in the restaurant just now.

"Then he is an idiot! Why go through so much trouble to open the door? Can't he just crawl out?" The people holding the zoo map blushed after hearing what Li San said, because they were just about to go to the power supply room.

After the battle just now, the zombie animals in the zoo were basically wiped out, and the few scattered bird zombies could not cause any trouble as they were too small and could be killed one by one.

The rest of the journey was smooth sailing. When I climbed out of the front door of the zoo, I saw a tram parked there, so I didn't have to walk all the way there.

"Li, where are you going next? You haven't graduated yet! I'm afraid our school won't be able to continue operating." On the tram, everyone thought they could escape death and felt relieved. Cindy even began to plan for Li San's future.

"I plan to bring down the Umbrella Corporation, otherwise my thoughts won't be clear and it will affect my Kung Fu skills!" At this time, Li San did not forget to fool Cindy, but he was serious about bringing down the Umbrella Corporation.

"Look, that should be the rescue helicopter. It's much bigger than the police helicopter!" The rescue helicopter can be seen landing from a distance.

But not long after the helicopter landed, it began to stagger and rise again, and before it rose very high it began to fall to the ground.

Li San, whose eyesight is better than that of ordinary people, can see clearly that many zombies have climbed onto the helicopter. It seems that this evacuation point has also fallen.

"Let's go to the police station. There are quite a few survivors there. After we meet up with them, we will break out on our own. We can't rely on others!" Although everyone didn't see clearly the cause of the helicopter crash, it was obvious that something had happened to such a large helicopter falling from the sky.

Marvin, who was sitting at the front of the tram, pulled the brakes, then changed direction and restarted, heading back the way he came.
