I almost touched the moon

Chapter 28 Walking the Dog

It was already 8:30 pm when we arrived in Zurich. As soon as Wen Song arrived, he received a WeChat message from his mother, "Have you arrived yet? Have you walked Petty?"

[Just arrived in Zurich, not yet] A very simple reply.

My mother just replied with an "OK" and no other greetings.

For some unknown reason, she sent a WeChat message to Cheng Che, "I'm back in Zurich."

After sending the WeChat message, she felt a little hungry, so she bought a croissant at the station to fill her stomach and then took a taxi home.

As soon as she got home and opened the door, Petty pounced on her when he heard her open the door, licked her hand frantically, and ran out.

"Don't run!" Wen Song rushed forward to grab it and put a leash on it with great effort. "Don't run around. If you get lost, mom will beat me. I'll take you out to play now."

She took Petty for a slow walk along the lake, but her phone remained silent. She couldn't help but wonder, "What is Cheng Che doing... He usually replies within seconds, but I don't know what he is doing today." She didn't realize that she would also start waiting for Cheng Che's reply.

It was a sunny night at the end of May. There was a breeze on the shore of Lake Zurich and many tourists. Petty was cute and friendly. Many passers-by came up to touch him and Wen Song also politely chatted with them. Such a moment of complete relaxation was really rare.

After walking for nearly an hour, she felt tired and sat down on the lawn. However, Petty was still not satisfied and continued to play crazily on the lawn.

Wen Song took a look, sighed, took a puff of cigarette, and said to himself: "Oh, it's good to be young, so energetic."

Just then, her cell phone rang. She saw the WeChat call notification and couldn't help but smile. It was a call from Cheng Che.

She picked up the phone and said hello.

Cheng Che's tone was full of apology. "I'm sorry, sister. I was just on the phone with my dad when I saw your WeChat. Are you in Zurich? Are you home?"

"Walking the dog." Wen Song looked at Petty who was playing crazily at the side, sighed again, and spoke in a coquettish tone, "I'm almost dead tired, but the dog hasn't been walked yet... My mom said that you have to walk it until it is exhausted and lies on the ground and can't get up, otherwise it will destroy the house. But I'm almost dead, I think I might as well take it back, anyway, it's not my house that is being destroyed."

Cheng Che laughed twice and said to her, "Where is sister? I'll come find you."

Wen Song said, "R?sslipark, by the lake, I'll send you the location."

After sending the location, she pulled Petty over, rubbed its round little head, stroked its long fur and said, "A handsome guy will come to play with you soon. Are you happy?"

Petty was still rolling on the ground, with the corners of his mouth curved like a smile. Wen Song poked his little nose and scolded, "You nymphomaniac." He didn't know who he was talking about.

15 minutes later, Cheng Che arrived. Wen Song saw him getting out of the car, stood up from the grass, looked at him and smiled.

As soon as Cheng Che got out of the car, he saw Wen Song wearing a long beige knitted cardigan, a white inner layer and white casual pants, a pair of light grey sneakers, and a light beige baseball cap. He was holding a Samoyed in his hand, and they were looking at him and smiling. The breeze by the lake at night blew Wen Song's long hair and also touched his heartstrings.

He ran towards her quickly, his eyes curved, his smile as light as the breeze, and he called her softly, "Sister Wensong."

"Saved." Wen Song saw that he had an expression of seeing a savior, so he stuffed the leash into his hand, pointed at Petty and said, "I'll leave it to you. Its name is Petty."

Petty was indeed a crowd pleaser. As soon as he saw Cheng Che, he pounced on him and almost knocked Cheng Che to the ground.

Cheng Che took the leash with a smile, rubbed Petty's head, glanced at Wen Song and said, "Your sister handed you to me, she's lazy."

Then he said to Wen Song, "Petty, is it a girl?"

"Yes." Wen Song nodded, "Little beauty, you are five years old this year, my mother's most precious little daughter."

Cheng Che asked again, "Then I'll go take it for a walk, where's my sister?"

"I'm going to lie down here for a while. I'm so tired. I'm exhausted this week and I can't even sleep at home on the weekend. My mom asked me to come to Zurich to do hard labor." As she said this, she lay down on the grass and began to complain.

"Okay." Cheng Che agreed, "I'll go first and come back to see my sister later."

"Yeah." Wen Song nodded, "You have to walk it until it's so tired that it lies on the ground and sticks out its tongue. You're driving, right? Can I ask you to take us home later?"

"Of course." Cheng Che agreed with a smile, "Are you hungry? If you are, you can also give me a midnight snack for free."

"Okay, I ate in the cafeteria at noon and had a croissant in the evening." Wen Song didn't bother to be polite with him. He lay on the grass, raised his head and looked at him with a smile.

Cheng Che lowered his head and saw that she was smiling widely, with a pair of curved peach blossom eyes and even the teardrop mole at the corner of her eyes showing a smile.

The wind blew her hair, and some tufts blew on her face. He subconsciously wanted to brush it away for her, but the moment he stretched out his hand, he withdrew his hand as if he had been electrocuted. But he saw that her cheeks were slightly red, like peach blossoms, and he actually had an urge to kiss her.

He immediately turned his head away, not daring to look at her again, and took Petty by the hand and said, "I, I'm going to walk the dog first, sister, have a good rest, I'll come back to you later."

"Yeah." Wen Song was still savoring the warm touch of his fingers on his face, and nodded, "Okay."

Watching Cheng Che taking Petty for a slow walk along the lake and playing from time to time, she suddenly felt that she was not so tired anymore. She got up from the grass, walked quickly to Cheng Che's side, and patted his shoulder.

Cheng Che turned around and saw that she had a surprised expression, and even a hint of worry, "Sister, didn't you say you were very tired? Let's go back and rest for a while. However, it's windy by the lake, how about sitting in my car for a while?"

"No need." She took Petty's hand, "I've been lying down for a while, and I'm not so tired anymore. It's boring to sit alone, so it's nice to go shopping with you guys."

Cheng Che took off his coat and put it on her, "Don't catch a cold."

Wen Song smiled and saw that he was only wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt, which perfectly showed the muscle lines on his arms. While admiring his beauty, he still took off his coat and gave it back to him, "I'm wearing quite thick clothes, so I'm not cold. But you, don't catch a cold, put it on quickly."

"Okay!" Cheng Che put on his clothes obediently, took the leash from her and said, "Let me lead it. It runs like crazy."

Wen Song smiled, stood quietly beside Cheng Che, and walked with him by the lake. Because they were so close, their hands would touch from time to time. Every time, he felt that Cheng Che's hand temperature was a little higher, and she felt the same.

There were a few pedestrians playing tennis in front. When Petty saw the ball, he got excited and pounced on it. Cheng Che couldn't react in time and was almost dragged down by it.

Wen Song immediately grabbed his hand and said, "Be careful!"

"It's okay." Cheng Che stood up straight immediately and smiled at her. "It's okay. With my balance ability, it can't pull me down."

"I'm worried about you, but you don't know what's good for you." Wen Song's tone was still calm, but one could hear the implicit anger in it.

Cheng Che nodded, smiling even more, "I know, I'm not afraid that my sister will worry."

Although he didn't fall down and stood up straight, he didn't let go of the hand she was holding, and Wen Song didn't let go either. His palm was broad and warm in his hand, which was very comfortable.

"Let's go." Wen Song said, "Let's play with it for a while."

"Okay." Cheng Che nodded, "Then let's walk slowly."

The hand-holding posture changed from a simple handshake at the beginning to interlocking fingers. Cheng Che's fingers were slender and well-defined, while Wen Song's hands were soft and slightly cool. When their fingers were interlocked, the body temperatures of the two people gradually merged.

"Ah Che." Wen Song raised his head and pointed at the stars in the night sky. "The brightest one is Venus, and the one in the east is Saturn. But without an astronomical telescope, you can't see the rings."

"Which one do you like best, sister?" Cheng Che asked, "I like Saturn because it is really beautiful."

"Me?" Wen Song smiled. "No. In my eyes, the only difference between them is the terrestrial planets and the Jovian planets. If I have to say, I like Pluto, but you know it's not a planet."

"Why?" Cheng Che thought of her WeChat name, Pluto.

"Because, although Pluto has been removed from the list of planets, this is just a human definition and will not have any impact on Pluto itself." Wen Song explained, "So I quite like it. After all, planets and dwarf planets are just human definitions. The universe is so big, and every star has its own meaning of existence."

"I understand." Cheng Che nodded and said thoughtfully, "I know what I should do."

"What to do?" Wen Song asked.

Cheng Che looked at her and said, "My dad called me today and advised me to go to graduate school. I refused and had a big fight with him. He said that with so many people on the national team, no one would value a player like me who rarely even participates in training. Among athletes, I am not young anymore, so it is better for me to have some stability. So he gave me two choices, either to go to graduate school or to take over the group."

"Are you sure now?" Wen Song looked at him and asked.

"Yeah, it's confirmed." Cheng Che held her hand tightly, "I still want to ski. Sister is right. Even if I am not favored by others and cannot become a world champion, I still want to do what I want to do regardless of other people's opinions."

"Then I'll wait for you to give me the ticket." Wen Song also gently stroked his palm, but found a shallow scar on it. "How did you get hurt?"

"I fell during training when I was sixteen. I didn't notice there was a piece of ice there, and I fell directly out. My hand hit the stone, which cut my glove, and my leg was broken. I was in bed for three months." He said it calmly, but Wen Song couldn't help but gasp after hearing it.

"It must be very painful." She continued to stroke the scar, saying with some heartache.

"It's okay." He smiled with relief, "I'm used to it. That's why I have to persevere."

"Yeah." Wen Song looked down and found Petty lying on the ground. He chuckled and said, "It's tired. Let's go back."

"Okay." Cheng Che walked back with her, "I'll drive my sister home."

After arriving home, Wen Song glanced at his phone, sighed and said, "How cold."

"What's wrong?" Cheng Che asked.

Wen Song handed him the phone, curled his lips and said, "Mom, you can see it yourself."

Wen Song posted a photo of Petty with the caption: [He fell down while walking, and I fell down too].

The other party's reply couldn't be any more concise. Compared with Wen Song, who was considered to be a talkative person, the other party only replied with "good".

Cheng Che smiled and asked her while standing outside the house: "Are you hungry? Do you want me to make you a midnight snack?"

"Okay." Wen Song had been eating at the cafeteria and taking out for a week and missed Cheng Che's cooking very much. "My mom has everything in the refrigerator. You can take a look and just make something simple."

"Okay." Cheng Che went into the house with her, asked her to sit on the sofa in the living room, and said to her, "Then I'll go to the kitchen to cook."
