Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 115: Going to See Norma the Norwegian Ridgeback

Draco took Amanta and Harry to the bedroom area on the third floor with familiarity.

"This is my bedroom." Draco pointed to an ebony door and said, "If you encounter any problems, you can come to me."

Then, he pointed to the two doors across the corridor and said, "These two rooms are guest rooms. The house elves should have prepared them for you."

Draco pushed open one of the doors and peered inside for a moment.

"This one is probably for Amanta. They put Bertha on the table, too."

Amanta walked over and looked inside. The guest room had been decorated in a very girlish style, obviously prepared for a girl.

"I think you're right."

Amanta walked in and looked at the furnishings in the room.

"Then this must be Harry's," Draco said, pointing to another door.

Harry walked towards the door impatiently.

"Great, I can finally take a break."

"Yes, you guys pack your bags first, and everyone can take a nap in the afternoon. I will come to see you in the afternoon."

"Okay, see you later, Draco," Amanta said.

"See you soon."

Amanta changed into the slippers placed at the door, walked across the thick, long-haired off-white carpet, and walked to the table with the owl cage.

The owl's cage had been stocked with food and water, and Bertha was now pacing contentedly around the edge of the cage.

"Thank you for your hard work, Bertha."

Amanta reached out and unclasped the cage.

It must have been scared in the carriage just now.

Bertha tilted her head to look at her, then flapped her wings happily, turned around and flew out of the house.

She then took out the large suitcase stored in the Sage's Ring and placed it on the ground, sorting the clothes and school supplies inside.

During this holiday, she couldn't go to the library every day like she did when she was at Hogwarts. Without new knowledge passing through her brain, she always felt a little uneasy.

It seems that I should find an opportunity to ask Draco if I can borrow a few more books from his family library for her to read.

Amanta looked at the big bed on the side. The luxurious lavender bed curtains were gathered on the bedposts, and the bed was covered with a thick rabbit fur blanket, making it look comfortable and warm.

She changed into pajamas and lay down on the bed.

"call."

She let out a long sigh.

Anyway, this is a rare holiday and I can finally take a break.

……

After taking a short nap in the afternoon, Draco knocked on the door to wake up Amanta and Harry, and took them to visit the rooms and facilities in the mansion.

They were amazed at the various objects in this huge mansion, and Draco took them to visit countless rooms, each of which had a variety of different functions.

Only the topmost corridor was off-limits to them.

"Only the current head of the Malfoy family can enter here." Draco explained, "There may be some secrets of the Malfoy family in there - my father has never mentioned them to me."

"Well, you can rest assured that we won't be curious about it."

Amanta shrugged.

Draco then continued to take them to visit the next place.

But this is more like a science conference for prominent figures of the Malfoy family.

Wherever Draco walked past, he would point to the portraits on the wall and introduce them to the glorious deeds of his ancestor, or tell them that a certain item in the cabinet belonged to a Malfoy who lived more than ten centuries ago.

Amanta and Harry listened attentively at first, but after half an hour, they both began to yawn at the same time.

"..."

Draco looked at the two sleepy people and said helplessly, "Why are you even less energetic than in History of Magic class?"

"I'm sorry, Draco... but they all look so much alike... I remember you saying that in the eleventh century, Armand - why does this name sound a bit like mine? Well, he went to England with William the Great and was eventually granted a fine fiefdom, which is the current address of Malfoy Manor... and there was also Lucius I who pursued Queen Elizabeth I..."

Amanta recalled the fragments of words she had just heard, trying to prove that she was still asleep.

"Amanta, you still remember it clearly." Draco said with relief.

But he still spread his hands, somewhat helpless.

"Well, we've almost finished our tour. You don't seem to be interested in these things... How about we go see Norma?"

"Norma?" When Norma's name was mentioned, Amanta and Harry's sleepiness disappeared for the most part.

She had almost forgotten that Malfoy Manor was currently home to a ferocious Norwegian Ridgeback.

"When she sees us, won't she be so happy as to spit out a string of fireballs and burn us to death?"

Amanta asked with a little concern.

She remembered that Norma had grown bigger than Fang after only a few days at Hagrid's place, and she always breathed fire on Hagrid's beard and his desk mat.

After Norma went to Malfoy Manor, later...Draco received a letter from home, and they learned that -

It is said that Norma has now grown as big as a house.

"No, Amanta, although the Norwegian Ridgeback is one of the most ferocious dragon species... there are still several dragon trainers out there."

Draco denied it immediately, and from the eager expression on his face it was clear that he couldn't wait to see Norma.

"Dobby," Draco called.

There was a puff sound in the air, and Dobby immediately appeared in front of them.

It bowed deeply.

"Dobby is happy to serve the young master and his friends."

"Dobby, can you take us to see Norma?" Draco asked.

"Of course." Dobby bowed again, "The master of the house has already instructed that as long as you want to see it, Dobby will be happy to take you and your friends there."

Dobby led them out of the mansion, through the long path surrounded by lawns and fountains that they had taken when they came, and out of the wrought iron gate.

"Master Draco, the journey there is quite far and we need to take a carriage. Do you mind?"

"Don't mind, when can we get there?" Draco asked impatiently.

"Dear young master, if you take a carriage, it will be very quick. Dobby thinks we can get there in about ten minutes."

Dobby shook his head desperately, declining the invitation to ride with them. "Dobby will go and notify the dragon trainer first, and then he will meet you there."

"it is good."

Draco walked quickly to the carriage and stepped in.

Amanta and Harry followed him.

"Draco, walk slower and wait for us!" Harry shouted.

Ever since Draco asked Dobby to take them to see Norma, Draco had been walking at a very fast pace - they had never seen Draco walk so fast.

Amanta and Harry had to trot to keep up with him.

"Draco, I've never seen you walk so fast when I was almost late for Potions class."

Amanta said helplessly.

Draco's face flushed slightly.

"It's not that I walk fast, it's just that you walk too slowly."

He argued, then turned to look out the window, leaving them with only an ear glowing red.

Dobby watched them get on the carriage, then snapped his fingers and disappeared into thin air.

The three of them, just like when they came - once again experienced the thrilling process of the Night Theris takeoff and landing, but this time they were able to skillfully hold onto the seats with their knees and hold onto the handles above the windows with their hands.

Ten minutes later, Ye Qi pulled the carriage and brought them to a canyon.

Even Draco couldn't help but widen his eyes slightly.

"I didn't know there was such a place at Malfoy Manor."

Amanta got off the carriage and found that they were in a huge canyon crevice.

It was pitch black all around, with only a ray of light above our heads, except for the torches lit on the stone walls.

"Is this where Norwegian Ridgebacks like to live?"

Harry asked, confused.

"No... I want to keep it here, probably just to prevent it from running out and breathing fire and burning the forest, or maybe it's easier for the dragon trainer to keep an eye on it here."

Amanta looked around, but there was nothing around except some torches lit on the cliffs. The rest of the place was pitch black and nothing could be seen.

"Where should we go? There's no road here... By the way, didn't Dobby say he would come to pick us up?"

Harry asked blankly, looking around.

"How about we try to move forward first?" Draco suggested.

Amanta stopped Draco who was about to move: "I remember Dobby just said he was going to find a dragon trainer. Wait a minute."

After they waited boredly by the carriage for a few minutes, they saw Dobby leading a bearded, unkempt-looking man towards them in the light of the fire.

"Master Draco and his friends! You are here!" Dobby shouted in a shrill voice. "Dobby! I am sorry - Dobby is late because it took Dobby a lot of effort to wake up this man!"

Amanta shifted her gaze away from Dobby. The man next to Dobby did look sleepy.

"It's okay, Dobby."

"Dobby, go get them over here," the man ordered.

After getting Draco's confirmation, Dobby snapped his fingers and disappeared into the air again.

Amanta looked at the man next to Dobby and asked, "Are you Norma's dragon trainer?"

"Yes, my name is Pava, one of the dragon trainers. Nice to meet you. Follow me."

Although the man said this, he did not even look at them. Instead, he turned around and led them deeper into the canyon crack.

They had no choice but to follow the man.

As they walked, they saw several small houses that looked to be temporary.

No, they could only see clearly when they got closer. It should be said that it was a larger shack or tent.

"This is the dragon trainer's duty tent. We take turns living here. For example, I am on duty today. We need to keep an eye on Norma and not let it run away casually—"

"Besides the destructive power of the Norwegian Ridgeback, after all... things are different now than they used to be. If you go a little further from here, there are Muggle residential areas everywhere. If an accident happens, it will be troublesome."

Pava explained with a yawn.

After walking for several more minutes, they vaguely heard a strange rumbling sound. As they moved forward, the rumbling sound became louder and louder.

When the rumbling sound came, they could even feel the ground beneath their feet shaking.

"Is...is there an earthquake here?" Harry's face turned pale.

"No, I think it's Norma snoring."

Pava said calmly.

But his words made Amanta and the other two look pale.

Amanta exchanged glances with Harry and Draco, and they all saw a bit of fear of the unknown in each other's eyes.

It’s only been over a month…has Norma grown this big already?

Pava walked to an ordinary place and suddenly stopped.

He held out his arms to stop them, signaling that they could go no further.

Amanta looked ahead, it was pitch black and she still couldn't see anything.

But just from the sound, the rumbling sound was as loud as thunder, making her eardrums tremble.

Judging from this, they were probably very close to Norma.

"W-What is this? Ugh—my foot!"

Harry in front suddenly jumped up in panic, throwing his shoes outside.

Amanta took a closer look.

Harry stepped on a pool of green slime, which seemed to have some kind of corrosive property. It burned the soles of his shoes with a sizzling sound and emitted a puff of black smoke.

"Scourgify—"

Amanta quickly drew her wand and cast a cleansing spell on Harry.

Fortunately, this is Malfoy Manor - in a wizard's residence, the use of magic by minors will not be discovered by the Ministry of Magic.

Underage wizards are all fitted with tracers so that when they use magic outside of school, the Ministry of Magic can locate them directly and issue a warning.

If you receive a second warning, you will be expelled from school.

Fortunately, at Malfoy Manor, she didn't have to worry about receiving automatic warning letters from the Ministry of Magic and the school after casting a spell.

As the spell fell, the strange slime and the liquid that was corroding Harry's shoes disappeared.

Harry finally breathed a sigh of relief, stopped jumping, and complained, "Oh my God, what the hell is this?"

Pava then spoke slowly.

"That's Norma's saliva... At this time... Norma is usually sleeping, I think we should not disturb it-"

"If you disturb it, the consequences will be serious."

Pava warned them with his eyes, but he looked at them calmly.

"Of course... We have arrived in front of Norma, but as you can see, it is pitch black here. If you don't light all the torches here, you will definitely not be able to see anything."

"What should we do?" he asked, and then stood there, waiting for their answer.

"Will you keep us safe?" Amanta asked.

"I can't guarantee it." Pava said slowly, "But it's my job to subdue it, so I think I can probably do it."

Draco thought about it, gritted his teeth and said, "Light the torch."
