Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 138 Christmas Holidays are coming to an end

After finally temporarily resolving the issues with Dobby and Winky, their Christmas vacation was almost over.

Before the last few days of the holiday, they spent a few days catching up on all their holiday homework - after all, they had been busy with various things before and had no time to do their homework.

The assignment on History of Magic was the longest. Professor Binns required them to copy down all the history that took place in the 18th and 19th centuries in the book - it was an extremely thick section, and the thickness of the page when held from the side indicated its unusualness.

But it must be said that Amanta was lucky in this respect.

Ever since Harry learned from Dobby that his Invisibility Cloak was completely harmless, he became more and more bold in using it. Sometimes he would even wear the Invisibility Cloak during the day and sneak around them to do some pranks just to scare them.

At first, this was very effective on Draco, and he was scared to run dozens of meters away many times.

But later on, it didn't work for Draco anymore.

Sometimes when there was a gust of wind outside the window, Draco would say to himself, "Harry, stop playing, I see you."

Harry's interest gradually shifted from scaring them to exploring Malfoy Manor.

He began to often wander around in the middle of the night wearing an invisibility cloak.

Sometimes, on a whim, he would come and knock on Draco and Amanta's door in the middle of the night, waking them up when they were sleepy and wandering around together.

But Draco reluctantly pointed out the problem to him.

"I don't understand why you always like to wander around at night... Although Hogwarts has a rule prohibiting night wandering, I understand that you have a sense of excitement about breaking the rule, but this is my home. Malfoy Manor does not have such a rule. What's more, you can ask Amanta and I to go wherever you want during the day."

This left Harry speechless.

"I don't know...but I always feel that at night, the things in the mansion are much more mysterious than they are during the day, and those corridors look much stranger."

Draco shrugged.

"Okay, it's up to you, but don't call me in the middle of the night. I'm almost getting dark circles under my eyes."

Amanta also nodded and said very sincerely: "Harry, the pile of books that the Malfoys gave me... is enough to make me overworked. I would rather have a good sleep than explore the secrets in the middle of the night."

But later on, unknowingly.

Harry had figured out where the house-elf kitchen was.

This was the beginning of a disaster.

Because the next day, Dobby told them with a serious face that there was a thief in Malfoy Manor.

Still a delicious thief——

Because according to the house-elves, apart from some pre-prepared food that was stored with spells in the kitchen, they searched the entire Malfoy Manor and found no trace of the thief or other stolen items.

When Dobby reported the matter to Draco with a bitter face, it lowered its head, as if waiting for Draco's criticism or punishment.

Amanta noticed that Harry looked a little nervous and hesitant at this moment.

"..."

Could it really be that Harry did this?

She doubted secretly.

But Harry persisted until the end, just listening to Dobby's report and still said nothing.

So she didn't expose him.

People are hard to break down.

After all, under the strict teaching of Mr. Finney - although Mr. Finney no longer teaches them in class, he still comes to eat with them from time to time, just to supervise any mistakes in Harry's etiquette.

He was always worried about Harry's level of etiquette.

Besides, Amanta once heard Mr. Finney whisper to Harry: Don't tell anyone about it - he was taught by Mr. Finney.

Harry was now trying to maintain those cumbersome etiquettes every day. Although he always complained in private, he still pretended to be serious and maintained his not-so-standard behavior - as a result, Harry's appetite decreased a lot.

Because Harry kept complaining that it was too troublesome and a waste of time to cut everything into small pieces before eating, he still liked to grab a big piece with his hands and put it into his mouth.

After listening to Dobby's report, Draco rubbed his head with a headache and asked the house-elves to continue investigating and pay attention to the situation tonight.

That night, the thief did not come to the kitchen, leaving the house-elves who were prepared with nothing.

But the next day, the thief couldn't help but take action.

But what was waiting for him was the trap set by the house-elves.

Just when Harry was feeling happy and excited thinking that the kitchen at Malfoy Manor must have let down its guard today, he, who had been hungry for two whole days, put on his invisibility cloak and tiptoed to the kitchen.

But it was too dark at night, and he didn't notice that the house-elves had smeared something on the floor beforehand, so when he walked, his shoes left footprints on the floor.

This shocked the house-elves who were quietly monitoring the surroundings.

They almost thought it was an invisible beast that came to steal food - but when they looked carefully, the footprints were completely different from those of the invisible beasts they knew.

As soon as Harry arrived in the kitchen, he saw a huge, steaming beef brisket croissant on a plate on the chopping board.

He didn't doubt something at all, for example... why a plate of freshly made croissants was left on the chopping board...

He rubbed his hands with joy, believing that this must be a gift from God, and reached out towards it.

The house-elves only saw a hand suddenly appear out of thin air and grab the beef brisket croissant.

It's too late to say.

Dobby led the many house-elves in a loud shout.

"Thief! Where are you going?"

The house-elves rushed forward in a hurry, as if they were risking their lives, and beat up the thief who was caught with great difficulty.

Harry screamed and fell to the ground.

There was a cloak covering his eyes, and now a group of things pounced on him and attacked him. Harry rolled on the ground in panic.

But after a moment, he quickly remembered what these guys who were punching and kicking him were -

He shouted, "Dobby? Dobby? It's me... Ugh, Harry!! Harry!! Stop it! Stop it!"

Dobby then stopped and signaled the other house-elves to follow suit.

"Harry? Mr. Potter? Why you?"

Dobby's high-pitched voice trembled a little.

The culprit, Harry, took off the Invisibility Cloak covering his body.

"I said... you guys wouldn't do that, I just ate a little too much."

Harry complained with a sad face.

Fortunately, the house-elves had thin arms and legs, so they didn't use much strength, and Harry didn't suffer any injuries, except for some bruises on his arms and legs.

At this time, the ones who were embarrassed were Dobby and the many house-elves behind him.

"Oh if you're always in the kitchen, you can always...we'll make some extra for you."

"Really? I've been wanting to say this for a long time. The food you guys make is so delicious!"

Harry couldn't wait to praise, completely ignoring the punches and kicks from the house-elves just now.

The house-elves were extremely happy about this. After all, few people praised their cooking skills in this way, which greatly increased their enthusiasm for work.

They hurriedly made a lot of them.

Harry thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

They were happy to provide him with more food, and every time Harry sneaked into the kitchen in the middle of the night, he would always leave with too much to eat, so they would make some for him to take back and continue eating.

Of course, this was reported to Draco by Dobby the next day.

Under Draco's death gaze, Harry was so embarrassed and nervous that he felt like he was losing a layer of skin.

anyway.

Why Amanta was lucky when it came to copying her History of Magic homework...

It is precisely because of this incident.

After Harry heard that food placed in the Sage's Ring would not spoil, he begged Amanta to use this to exchange his History of Magic homework for helping him put in a large box of desserts, breads and snacks for the house-elves.

This is of course almost harmless to Amanta.

So she agreed decisively.

It was just hard for Harry, as he had to copy two copies - but when he saw the whole full box of food, he became more motivated.

During the last few days of the holiday, after they had finished all their homework.

It was extremely timely that a heavy snow finally fell.

The belated snow fell heavier and heavier, and soon a thick layer of snow accumulated on the lawn.

Only then did they begin to feel the joy of the Christmas holiday.

They called Blaise and Syrio over, and the five of them rushed to the vast lawn of Malfoy Manor to have a snowball fight and build snowman after snowman in the garden.

Until her cheeks turned red from the cold and her hands were numb, Amanta finally managed to pile up some decent things, such as a few cute little otters, or a few owls and lynxes.

They also bought lots of lottery tickets from Diagon Alley.

These fancy cake pops were nothing like the shabby Muggle-made cake pops that contained little plastic toys and flimsy knit hats.

Amanta pulled out the colorful firecrackers with them. Instead of a dull "bang", it made a bang that was like a cannon explosion, which made their heads dizzy.

After the explosion, a blue smoke engulfed them all. When the smoke cleared, they saw a rear admiral's hat and several lively white mice inside.

Blaise was happy to take all the mice away - he said they could be food for his cat, but he was stopped by Harry.

Harry insisted on releasing the little white mouse into the forest - but they all doubted whether it could survive a day there.

Amanta received a bunch of things that exploded from the colorful firecrackers, such as a wizard hat filled with flowers, a bag of glitter balloons, a bag of exploding joke candies, and a set of wizard chess.

But she already had the set Draco had given her, so she gave the chess set to Harry.

Speaking of wizard chess, she began to learn how to play it during the last few days of the holiday, even though the set of chess pieces Draco gave her looked a little weird.

They would also make some weird comments when she was down.

Sometimes I even resist their arrangements.

For example: "As a noble vampire knight, I don't intend to go there. Do you see that bishop? I bet his blood tastes even better..."

"How can a queen drink the blood of low-ranking knights? I don't bother to do this... Humph, I will trample them all under my feet and become the supreme queen."

This means that playing Wizard Chess is more like commanding soldiers into battle than simply playing chess.

At the beginning, Amanta looked for Harry to play with her. After all, the two of them had almost no contact with these things before, so they could be considered rookies playing against each other. If she played with Draco and the others, there would be almost no gaming experience.

But after playing a few games with Harry, she quickly mastered some skills of wizard chess and developed some interest in it.

She also asked Dobby to find some books on wizard chess tactics.

After reading these books, Harry was completely unable to win the game. He looked so sad that he had to ask Draco to help him.

After playing a few games with Draco, Draco couldn't help but start to feel the strain.

Amanta didn’t know if it was her illusion, but she always felt that the time for Draco to make his move was getting closer, and there was even a thin layer of sweat on her forehead.

Sometimes when several chess pieces were arguing with each other, he would scold them harshly and tell them to stop talking so as not to disturb his train of thought.

When Draco lost two games in a row and was directing his chess pieces to fight Amanta for the third game——

After one of his chess pieces was defeated by Amanta, he frowned and pulled Sirio, who was watching the game, over.

Although Draco did not admit that he was shaking people.

"Sorry, I just need to go to the bathroom, Syrio, you can help me and Amanta continue for a while."

Sirio frowned coldly.

"Amanta shouldn't mind waiting for you."

Draco gritted his teeth and forced a kind smile.

"I have a stomachache, so it may take a long time. Well, that's settled."

After he said that, he walked out without giving Sirio a chance to refuse.

Amanta had no choice but to look at Sirio and shrugged helplessly.

"Well... I don't mind changing people midway, so please continue?"

"Ok."

Sirio did not refuse again. In the past while, he often came over and looked at their chessboard, seeming to be very interested in wizard chess.

After Amanta played a few games with him, she understood why Draco would shake up Sirio.

Syrio is very talented in playing wizard chess. He seldom communicates with the chess pieces, letting them chatter on the board. He just coldly directs the chess pieces to move. When necessary, he will even deliberately abandon one or two chess pieces just to make them play a greater role.

Before we know it, this short Christmas holiday is about to end.
