Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me
Chapter 22 Slytherin Common Room
Amanta followed her out of the side of the auditorium, entered a bronze door on the right side of the marble staircase, and walked through a dark corridor that led in all directions.
Harry followed Amanta, yawning constantly.
"I'm so sleepy... How long will it take us to get there?"
From time to time, whispers could be heard from the portraits along the corridor. A knight was showing his scabbard to a lady, and the lady giggled.
Jima led them through the maze-like corridors with familiarity, and finally stopped in front of a gray stone wall.
"Remember, you need to say the correct password to enter the Slytherin common room. Today's password is: power."
When she said these two words, the stone snake circling on the wall seemed to suddenly come alive, and the giant snake swam out of their sight along the groove on the edge of the wall. After that, the rough stone wall moved to both sides, revealing a short section of dark stone stairs spiraling downward.
Jima led them down.
"Pay attention to the notification board in the lounge. The password changes every two weeks."
She pointed to a bronze bulletin board at the end of the stone staircase, on which were many pieces of parchment of varying sizes.
But Amanta was not sure whether Harry heard it, because as soon as Harry walked down the stone stairs, he trotted towards the transparent window on the side of the lounge.
"Oh my god! Are we underwater? This is so cool!"
Harry sighed.
There are many tall transparent glass windows around the Slytherin Lounge, and this one is the most eye-catching - outside the glass is the dark green lake water, and dark green algae are swaying slowly along the water flow. A giant squid slowly emerged from the water plants and approached, stretching out a slimy tentacle and slapping the window, scaring Harry back a step.
Amanta and Draco walked over to Harry.
"Dad once told me what the Slytherin common room looked like, but seeing it with your own eyes is better than any description."
"The dark bottom of the Black Lake... is indeed mysterious and fascinating."
Amanta touched the glass, on which some mysterious magical patterns were faintly flowing.
"I never thought that the Boy-Who-Lived and our dear Miss Merlin... were so unworldly."
A sarcastic female voice suddenly sounded.
Pansy Parkinson sat on the dark green suede sofa in the middle of the lounge. There were several boys and girls sitting next to her, looking at them with suspicion and ill intent.
These people seemed to know each other and at least had considerable power and status.
Because most of the people in the lounge cast their eyes over, but their expressions were hesitant, and they did not have the enthusiasm they had when they greeted her at the opening party just now.
At least no one stood up to speak for them.
"Amanta Merlin--" Pansy said arrogantly.
"The Merlin family has disappeared for so long. How can you prove your identity? Who knows if you are a mudblood from somewhere?"
"And this Potter, look at this poor Muggle appearance - hey, is the Potter family so poor that they can only pick up clothes from Muggle trash cans?"
The people around her burst into laughter.
"..."
Amanta thought that things between them were over after the opening party, but she didn't expect that she would not give up after that.
She doesn't want to cause trouble, but she's not afraid of others causing trouble for her.
This battle must be fought.
"Really? Then may I ask why Miss Parkinson is questioning my origins?"
Amanta pulled Harry, whose head was bulging with veins, behind Draco and strode to the center of the lounge.
"What evidence do you have?"
She looked down at Pansy, without any fear.
At least we can't lose in momentum.
Pansy didn't look at her, but instead looked at the people around her. Those people were looking at Amanta with interest, as if they were watching something funny.
Pansy smiled smugly and contemptuously.
"Don't think I don't know that you are a dirty Mudblood. I found out that you came from a lowly Muggle orphan monastery. You pretended to be a member of Merlin's family and tried to flatter yourself. It was a despicable and disgusting Mudblood method."
A boy next to her made a vomiting expression at Amanta, and another girl rolled her eyes.
Amanta also smiled gently, but her eyes were cold and somewhat scary.
"Really? Can I easily fool you, Professor Dumbledore, the Sorting Hat and Salazar's choice?"
"not to mention--"
"I never knew that Slytherin would accept Muggle-born wizards. If I break this precedent, then I think my own strength has been recognized by Salazar."
Amanta faced everyone's gaze and walked slowly forward.
The aura she exuded shocked everyone. No one had ever thought that they would see such an aura from an eleven-year-old first-year student.
Amanta walked to the fireplace in the lounge. A few sparks without any heat were crackling in the fireplace, and the whole lounge was extremely cold.
"Excuse me, was Voldemort more powerful than me when he entered school in his first year?"
She drew her wand and lighted the fire. "Incendio."
The flames suddenly went crazy, with the tips of the flames entwining and curling upwards out of the fireplace, as if the small fireplace could no longer bear its huge expanding body.
Amanta looked back with satisfaction, and the blazing red fire reflected in the frightened eyes of many people.
"By the way, the Voldemort that most of your families have been following, Tom Riddle, is just a half-blood."
Many people took a deep breath and looked at her with pale fear.
Amanta raised her left arm, clearly displaying the Sage's Ring in the light of the Slytherin Common Room.
"And you doubted the identity of my Merlin family. You don't even know the 'Sage's Ring'?"
Several Slytherin students looked at each other, hesitated for a moment, and then stepped forward.
"I believe the Sorting Hat will not make the wrong choice."
"It's just that their parents died unfortunately - it's too arbitrary to doubt their origins because of this."
Jima also came over, playing with a bone bracelet in her hand.
"If I remember correctly, are all of you first-year students, oh and a few second- and third-year students, so idle?"
The faces of the people around Pansy turned pale and blue. Two of the girls looked at Pansy reproachfully, stood up from the sofa and walked out.
The heat from the fireplace licked Pansy's face. Pansy held her breath, her face flushed red, and finally cursed in front of everyone:
"You two...you have no parental education! Wait! I will tell my parents to investigate you! And by then, I will expose your true colors!"
Draco drawled slowly -
"Pansy, do you want me to write a letter to your parents?"
"What about what you did at school - their darling daughter openly defying Slytherin's most promising heir in the common room of her own house?"
