Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 300 Are You Rejecting Me Even By Writing a Letter?

The car door slammed shut and then drove off into traffic.

Amanta stood there, watching the car go farther and farther away, and suddenly a sense of inexplicable sadness welled up in her heart.

This semester has been so eventful that it seems unreal when we say goodbye.

She had gotten used to having them around her, but now it was the end of the semester, Draco was gone, Harry was gone, and she was left alone.

Even though they still wrote letters and met occasionally, she still had an indescribable sense of loss in her heart.

She stood there, people were rushing around her, but she felt a little out of place.

No, I can't fit in either.

She was just... alone.

She took a deep breath and was about to leave when someone suddenly called her from behind.

"Amanta."

She paused, turned her head slightly, and her eyes fell on the person walking slowly behind her.

Julius.

His black hair was a little messy due to the hot wind, and his thin body was wrapped in a black windbreaker. His expression was the same as always, calm with a hint of a smile.

"You are indeed the last one." He stopped and said softly, the depth in his eyes was hard to read.

Amanta narrowed her eyes and looked at him warily: "You haven't left yet?"

“After seeing my friend off, I realized that it was time for me to leave.” Julius smiled slightly, “But it seems that you are alone now, just like me.”

Amanta didn't respond.

He tilted his head slightly, his dark pupils staring at her with some meaningful inquiry: "Don't you think... sometimes, things like 'friends' will eventually disperse?"

Amanta pursed her lips and looked cold: "If you want to say something ambiguous again, then you don't have to waste your time."

Julius chuckled, but there seemed to be a sharp edge hidden in his eyes: "Just chatting casually. After all, you are alone now, and I... happen to be alone too."

Amanta turned around impatiently and prepared to leave.

"But you don't have to worry." Julius suddenly spoke again, his voice low, but it seemed to be almost bewitching, "At least, I'm still here."

Amanta stopped, turned back slowly, and looked at his face solemnly.

Julius smiled as gently as always, but it made her feel inexplicably uneasy.

She looked at Julius in silence. His eyes were calm and the smile on his face seemed to contain no hostility.

"Where are you going next?" Julius asked in a leisurely tone, as if asking casually, but his black eyes were carefully observing her every move.

Amanta answered without hesitation: "The orphanage."

Julius raised his eyebrows slightly, seeming a little surprised by this answer.

He looked at her quietly for a while, then chuckled softly: "You are really...special."

Amanta did not respond, but just looked at him with a slightly cold gaze, waiting for his next words.

Julius lowered his eyelids, as if thinking about something.

After a while, he said with a half-smile, "Going back to the orphanage to spend the summer vacation alone... sounds a bit lonely."

Amanta still looked calm: "The orphanage treated me very well, and I lived well there."

Julius raised his eyes and fixed them on her face with an ambiguous expression, as if he did not quite believe this answer.

In his opinion, the word "orphanage" usually carries a dark undertone, being shabby, cold, and full of numbness and indifference.

Children are like dust abandoned in the corner of the world. No one really cares about their future. They either learn to be cruel and ruthless or are crushed by reality.

And Amanta doesn't look like a child who would grow up in a warm environment.

Her eyes are too calm, her actions are too decisive, and her way of doing things is too independent.

With such a personality, it is hard to believe that she grew up in a "warm" environment.

Julius tilted his head slightly and said in a gentle tone: "But I always feel that... you don't look like someone who grew up in a warm environment."

Amanta frowned slightly, not liking his overly tentative tone: "Your intuition is wrong."

Julius chuckled and didn't continue the topic.

With a faint smile on his lips, he looked at Amanta and spoke softly as if he was discussing something insignificant.

"During the summer vacation - do you mind if I come to visit you?"

Amanta's expression paused slightly, and then she asked calmly, "Why do you want to come to me?"

“Isn’t it normal for friends to meet during the holidays?” Julius smiled gently and appropriately, with a kind of calmness in his pure black eyes, as if he was really just asking casually.

Amanta just continued to look at him in silence.

friend?

She had never acknowledged Julius as her friend, their relationship was far from that.

She was cautious, even wary, of him.

Julius was a dangerous and mysterious man who always intervened in her life at critical moments and even tried to sow discord between her, Draco and Harry, not to mention that he might have some ulterior motives.

How could she trust him and consider him as her friend?

Seeing that she didn't say anything, Julius was not anxious and still smiled: "Didn't you say that the orphanage treated you very well? Then I'll just go and take a look and learn about your living environment."

Amanta's expression was slightly cold: "You have never been a person who does things casually, Julius. I'm afraid you want to come to me not just because you are bored."

Julius smiled softly and said in a low voice: "You are too suspicious. I just think that your friends have all gone home. Isn't it too lonely for you to stay in the orphanage alone?"

"It's none of your business." Amanta's tone was emotionless, calm and restrained.

Julius' smile remained unchanged, even with a hint of good-tempered helplessness: "You are always on guard against me like this, Amanta, and it makes me a little sad."

Amanta just continued to look at him coldly, knowing clearly that this was just Julius's usual rhetoric.

He is never truly hurt, nor is he devastated by rejection.

He just used to gradually infiltrate her life in a "harmless" way.

Julius still kept smiling, and his tone was so gentle that no one could detect any aggression: "But I still hope to come and see you."

Amanta looked at him seriously, as if trying to see something from his expression.

Julius' smile was gentle and his expression seemed honest, as if he was just concerned about each other as friends.

Seeing that she remained unmoved, Julius sighed and changed his words.

"Well, we don't have to meet in person, but at least we can write to each other, right? Exchanging holiday experiences won't make you feel threatened, right?"

The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he looked at her deeply: "You won't even reject my letter, will you? This is not like your style, Amanta."

He used the word "refused" rather than "unwilling".

It seemed that if she didn't agree, she would be deliberately avoiding him.

Amanta pursed her lips. This kind of pressure was not new to her.

Julius was good at using words to guide people in the direction he wanted. She could of course refuse decisively, but in this way, she would not be able to figure out what he was planning.

Her intuition told her that Julius's presence must be very crucial.

She pondered for a moment and said calmly, "If you want to write a letter, I won't stop you."

Julius narrowed his eyes and smiled even more: "Well, it's settled then."
