Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 332: The Last Day of the 3rd Grade Summer Vacation

Moody's magic eye kept turning, and his blue pupils scanned the four of them. When it stopped on Amanta's wrist, it paused slightly, and then fell on Julius.

His hands were loosely placed on his waist, as if he was about to pull out his wand at any moment.

Amanta calmly put away her wand and looked at him calmly.

"You little guys...are quite interesting."

Moody spoke, his voice hoarse and rough, like an old wood board that had been sanded.

"How could four underage wizards be able to confront a dark wizard head-on in Diagon Alley and still remain unscathed?"

He dragged a wooden leg forward a step, his eyes swept over Amanta again, and hummed: "Especially you."

Amanta blinked and said nothing.

Moody looked like he was choosing his words, then he poked the ground with his cane and stared at her. "Two-handed spells, one with a wand and the other without a wand?"

"This is the first time I've seen a spell cast this way. Perhaps Merlin's bloodline does give you some kind of talent."

The surrounding wizards immediately started talking, and even a few shop owners secretly poked their heads out to hear more clearly.

Amanta's eyes sank slightly.

She doesn't like to reveal too much information in front of outsiders, and she doesn't like others to casually reveal her identity.

But Moody had already spoken, and she couldn't deny it anymore.

So she just smiled slightly and said calmly: "Thank you for the compliment, sir."

Moody snorted, and the corner of his mouth twitched, and it was unclear whether it was a smile or some other ambiguous expression.

"You do have a good talent for magic." His magic eyes turned sharply and stared at her. "How have you been doing in Hogwarts these few years?"

Amanta replied casually: "I basically know everything the professors taught me."

Moody laughed softly.

"But you know what the professors didn't teach you, don't you?"

Amanta paused, lowered her eyes, and did not answer.

Moody did not ask any further questions. He just pondered for a moment and suddenly changed the subject.

"I will be your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at the beginning of this semester," he said slowly. "I hope you won't disappoint me too much."

All four of them were stunned.

Harry looked up instantly. "Are you this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

Draco frowned and Julius raised an eyebrow slightly.

Moody is actually going to teach this year?

I thought that if nothing had happened to Lupin, he would not have resigned... It seems that this position cannot escape Voldemort's curse.

However, she did not hear from Harry about Lupin's resignation.

There are at least several professors in charge of the same course at Hogwarts. Perhaps Lupin was just not in charge of teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts to senior students.

Amanta regarded him thoughtfully.

Moody is a very powerful Auror, but also extremely cautious and suspicious.

In the original plot, it was not him who came to Hogwarts as a professor, but Barty Crouch Jr. in disguise... But now, Barty Jr. is still imprisoned in Azkaban.

So this Moody's should be the real Moody's.

But why would the real Moody accept Dumbledore's invitation so easily?

"You'd better put away those suspicious looks." Moody snorted coldly, "I'm not here to give you a 'regular lesson'."

His magic eye swung around, "Our class's courses will be... very different."

The four of them looked at each other, each with a different expression.

The atmosphere was stagnant for a moment.

But soon, Moody's eyes turned to Harry.

"Potter." He called out, and Harry was stunned for a moment before he came to his senses.

"Huh?" He blinked. "What's wrong?"

Moody stared at him for a moment, and after a moment, revealed a rare look of nostalgia.

"Your eyes..." He paused, his voice lowered a little, "are exactly the same as your mother's."

Harry's heart skipped a beat.

his mother.

Lily Evans.

"Do you know my mother?" There was a hint of urgency in his tone.

Moody looked at him and nodded. "Of course. I had several encounters with your parents when I was still at the Ministry."

Harry's hands clenched involuntarily, his eyes moistened slightly, and he asked with a hint of anticipation that he hadn't even noticed yet: "Do you know... what kind of people they are?"

Moody was silent.

Then he said: "James Potter, passionate and brave, is an extremely good wizard. Lily Evans, is smarter, kinder, and more talented than him."

Harry held his breath.

"Your parents are indeed among the most remarkable wizards in the world." Moody said in a hoarse voice, "They once had the opportunity to leave the war, but they didn't. They chose to stay and stand at the forefront of the fight against the Dark Lord."

"They are—" Moody paused, and finally said in a somewhat nostalgic tone, "They are heroes."

Harry's throat tightened.

"If they were still alive..." Moody's magic eye also stopped, and both eyes looked at him together and said, "They would definitely be proud of you."

Harry was speechless for a moment. He blinked and opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

Amanta patted him gently on the back.

"...Thank you, thank you." Harry finally spoke, choking a little.

Moody glanced at him and said nothing more.

At this moment, Julius suddenly said, "Mr. Moody."

Moody's demonic eye quickly turned to him.

"You..." Moody looked him over. "The guy from Durmstrang?"

Julius nodded and said, "Yes."

Moody frowned slightly and asked warily, "Why did you transfer to Hogwarts?"

Julius smiled and said, "I came to England to seek medical treatment. I stayed in Hogwarts because my parents wanted me to receive a more comprehensive magical education."

Moody stared at him, as if trying to determine whether this statement was true or not.

Julius looked at him calmly.

A subtle confrontation instantly formed between the two of them.

Amanta frowned slightly. Although Julius was strange, he had been with them all day. It would be troublesome if Moody suspected him.

She had no choice but to interject, breaking the silence.

"Julius is a very good wizard, and he has learned very well at Hogwarts."

Julius was stunned for a moment, then nodded slightly at her.

Moody snorted, seeming to be a little distrustful, but did not ask any further questions.

He glanced at the four of them, and finally said in a deep voice: "You guys better be careful."

"This world is not as simple as you think."

He paused, taking one last look at Amanta: "Especially you."

Amanta nodded: "Thank you for your guidance."

Moody gave them a long look, then turned and limped away, dragging his wooden leg and leaning on his crutches.

They were silent for a while.

Then Draco broke the silence first: "Mad-Eye... I've heard of him, a retired Auror from the Ministry of Magic. How come he became our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year?"

Amanta shook her head. "Who knows? But I think his ability to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts must be better than any professor we have met before—except Professor Lupin, of course."

Harry was still immersed in Moody's words. He lowered his head, his hands unconsciously pinching the corner of his robe.

Julius smiled softly and looked at them with deep and ambiguous eyes.

"This year..." he whispered, "It's going to be fun."

Amanta narrowed her eyes, looked at him, and said nothing.

They did not stay in Diagon Alley for long. They had bought all the supplies they needed. If they stayed here, they would be like monkeys in a zoo, for people to watch.

They finally set off back to Malfoy Manor with their purchases.

At this point, the last day of the third grade summer vacation has ended.

Tomorrow, they will start school.
