Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me
Chapter 6 The Troubles of Choosing a Wand
Professor McGonagall took a step forward and stood in front of Amanta invisibly.
"Excuse me, Mr. Guliqi, but the goblin rules only apply to you."
"It's mine, no doubt about it."
The old witch glared at her fiercely.
The biggest reason for the current situation must be that goblins and wizards have different concepts of ownership of items.
Wizards believe that an item should become an inheritance after death and be passed on to others according to the order of succession.
However, goblins believe that the things they forge should belong to their makers after the user dies.
The frequent frictions and bloodshed between wizards and goblins is probably due to this.
"Merlin is dead! God knows how long I have been looking for this thing. At that time, we were still in the dense forest. One afternoon, the young man came into the forest and exchanged this with me..."
Guliqi started to mutter something, which seemed to be some old stories. His voice was unclear and Amanta could hardly make out what he was saying.
He glared at Professor McGonagall fiercely as he spoke.
"Mr. Gulliver, I suppose you don't wish to go against Hogwarts."
Professor McGonagall reminded him coldly.
Gullich glared at Professor McGonagall again, but these words obviously had a certain deterrent effect on him.
He rubbed his chin and thought for a while, then stood up from the chair, rested his arms on the table, and looked at Amanta.
"If you give it to me, well... let me think about it, I'll make you a new key to the Merlin family vault, how about that?"
"The Merlins haven't been here for centuries... I think some foolish heir lost the key."
"Ms. Merlin, your family's treasury has a lot of good things..."
"Something better than this. Are you sure you don't want to open it? All the treasures inside are yours."
Guliqi opened his eyes that were covered by drooping eyelids, and there was a greedy look in his eyes.
It turns out that Gringotts still has the vault that the Merlin family stored here centuries ago.
According to what Guliqi said, there should be a lot of good things in the vault.
This is a huge temptation for Amanta.
After all, she was an orphan and was extremely poor. If Dean Ossena hadn't brought her several hundred pounds, she wouldn't even be able to afford the money to buy school supplies.
but……
"I'm sorry, but this bracelet is the only relic my family left me. I don't think I can use it to exchange for the key to my family's vault."
Amanta interrupted him decisively, emphasizing the words "my family".
Guliqi's persuasive voice almost fooled her.
But the Merlin family's vault originally belonged to her. Even if it could not be opened for the time being, she could not use the only clue that could prove her identity to exchange it.
Besides, fairies are cunning by nature. If I give this bracelet to Guliqi, I'm afraid I won't be able to get it back in this lifetime.
The Merlin family only left this bracelet to her, an orphan girl. There must be some key clues in it.
"Hmph! That vault can only be opened with a special key, made by us goblins!"
"There's only one of these in the world. Have you really thought about it?"
"I stand by my words, Mr. Gullich."
Guliqi snorted heavily, obviously confused as to why the little girl in front of him was not impressed by his conditions.
"Mr. Guliqi, I'm sure you've seen Amanta's attitude. Can you let us leave?"
The goblin led them back to the lobby.
Their return obviously caused a commotion among the goblins in the lobby.
The fairies gasped and looked at each other in surprise when they saw the Sage's Ring still intact on Amanta's wrist.
These fairies have such a big reaction. I guess that in addition to being made by fairies, the Sage's Ring must have many special and possibly extremely powerful magical functions.
If these fairies don't tell her, she will slowly explore it all.
There was also the key to the Merlin family vault, and she would try to find it or forge a new one.
She wants to take back everything that belongs to her without losing any money.
She exchanged the necessary gold Galleons and left Gringotts.
……
Watching Professor McGonagall's back as she walked towards Florin Fosco's ice cream shop, Amanta looked around at the wizarding shops of all sizes and began to plan her shopping route in Diagon Alley.
Of course, she did not forget her other task for the day.
She looked up at the sky.
The light in early August is harsh even before noon.
If she remembered correctly, Harry should have rowed to the pier with Hagrid that morning - and then took the train and the Underground.
It goes without saying that Harry and the others definitely had not arrived at Diagon Alley yet.
Amanta decided to go buy school supplies first and look for Draco Malfoy at the same time.
After all, a shiny platinum head can be considered conspicuous in the crowd.
Diagon Alley was not very big. Amanta walked around Diagon Alley several times, but obviously did not see the platinum skull she was looking for.
Once she spotted another boy with blond hair standing at the door of the Jumping and Playing Magic Joke Shop, but she quickly shook her head.
There was no way that eleven-year-old Draco could be that tall, nor was there any way he could stand stupidly outside the window, staring at these ridiculous products.
I wonder when Harry and Draco will get to Diagon Alley.
Amanta shook her head and decided to go buy a wand first.
The wand chooses the wizard, and it may take a long time for her to find a suitable wand.
Amanta stood at the door of Ollivander's Wand Shop, feeling a little excited and nervous.
She will soon have her own unique magic wand!
"Good morning, Miss Merlin."
Before Amanta sat down on the dusty bench in the store, a soft voice suddenly sounded behind the counter.
If you are unprepared, you might get scared.
Amanta took a deep breath and said, "Good afternoon, Mr. Ollivander."
A thin old man walked out from behind the counter and stared at Amanta with his big silvery eyes.
"Merlin... The Merlin family hasn't come here to buy their wands for a long time. Miss Merlin, you are a rare guest."
Mr. Ollivander came over and looked at Amanta carefully.
"This hair color... eyes, it's just like the color of a frozen lake in winter. Without a doubt, it's the representative of the Merlin family."
"Then why did Miss Merlin come here to buy a wand? ...Oh no, I'm not trying to find out any family secrets. It's just that the Merlin family is too picky about wands. It's hard for a wand to withstand the power they control."
