Into the night

Ren Feng slowly opened his eyes. The drizzle outside the window had stopped at some point without him noticing.

After regaining some consciousness, Ren Feng struggled to get up from the bed, his dark eyes looking at the night sky outside the window.

A few stars are shining in the sky.

"Have you slept for so long? It seems your body is still tired."

After putting on his shoes, Ren Feng limped to the window, looking at the night view outside. Then he turned around and looked at the empty room behind him. Ren Feng slowly sighed.

An emotion called loneliness came over me.

"I'm hungry. Let's have some midnight snack. We have a fierce battle tomorrow." Ren Feng said as he walked out of the hotel.

It seemed that they knew that ordinary trash were just experience packs for Ren Feng, and those future people on the street who were supposed to investigate Ren Feng had disappeared.

Ren Feng walked and strolled freely on the street.

Soon, a noodle shop that was open late at night attracted Ren Feng's attention.

"Boss, can I still order?" Ren Feng walked up to the big pot standing in front of the noodle shop and asked. The boss, who was kneading noodles at the moment, glanced at him and then slowly walked out.

"Of course, what do you want to eat?"

"Shredded pork with pickled mustard greens, wide and not spicy."

"Row."

Seeing Ren Feng finish stating his needs in one breath, the boss happily picked up a bowl of wide noodles and put it into the pot.

Ren Feng slowly walked into the noodle shop, and the boss also noticed that something was wrong with him at the moment.

Especially the clothes on Ren Feng’s right arm that were deeply attached to his arm and the way Ren Feng was limping.

"Young man, the injuries on your body..." the boss asked, but Ren Feng shook his head.

"Because of some accidents..."

"Don't want to say it? Alas~" The boss shook his head.

The noodles cooked very quickly, and since Renfeng only ordered pickled mustard greens and shredded pork noodles, the boss quickly prepared the noodles and brought them to Renfeng, and also helpfully helped Renfeng get the chopsticks.

"Your face."

"Thank you."

Ren Feng nodded, took the chopsticks with his right hand and started eating.

"I have some medical supplies here, and I can change the bandage on your hand."

"Ok?"

Ren Feng looked at the boss in confusion, not understanding what he said for a moment.

"Don't look at me like this, I used to be a doctor too."

As the boss spoke, he took out something that looked like a work ID from a cabinet nearby.

Ren Feng leaned his head out slightly and saw a young and sunny man in a white coat smiling happily on his work ID card.

“Then why don’t you work as a doctor instead of selling noodles here?”

"Oh~" the boss sighed, his eyes full of sadness.

"I am a surgeon, and at the time I was doing bone grafting in the hospital. Because I had a solid foundation, almost no surgery would fail. This made me feel a little proud."

The boss said as he took out a medical kit from the store.

With Renfeng's consent, he lifted the clothes on Renfeng's right arm and saw Renfeng's injuries.

“But then, my other doctor friends and I received a request for surgery, and I thought it was an easy operation like any other.

But I didn’t expect that the person lying on the hospital bed… was my mother.”

Holding a cotton swab and alcohol, the boss first removed the bandage. He couldn't help but shudder at Ren Feng's shocking injuries.

"How did you do that... You're still out there with injuries like this. A normal person should be in the hospital for observation and treatment."

Looking at Renfeng's injuries, the boss didn't want to continue telling the story, but instead asked about Renfeng's condition.

"Because of some accident."

"I can only do some basic treatment. After you finish your noodles, I suggest you go back to the hospital. It's late at night and your leg looks broken. It's too dangerous for you to walk alone."

The boss carefully helped Renfeng disinfect and apply medicine while offering suggestions.

"No, I still have things to do and can't go back to the hospital." Ren Feng gritted his teeth, the pain irritating his nerves.

"Oh, what nonsense."

The boss shook his head. He also knew that Ren Feng was a man of firm will and he would not be able to persuade him just by himself.

So he continued to tell his story.

"It was an accident. My mother was driving alone. She was supposed to stop at a traffic light, but for some reason, her brakes failed. There was no car in front of her waiting, so her car rushed out and collided with a car."

The boss sighed slightly, put away the ointment in his hand, and took out a strange square object similar to wet wipes from the medical box beside him.

"This is a special skin product. Applying it on your skin can help you recover effectively."

The boss put the block on Ren Feng's arm. First, a cold feeling spread all over his body, followed by severe pain, and Ren Feng's expression became distorted.

"Because your wound is too big, this thing will inevitably touch the bone that is exposed to the air. Just bear with it."

As the boss explained, Ren Feng nodded, handed the chopsticks to his left hand, and slurped the noodles in the bowl with his left hand.

"Fortunately, we had a strong team of doctors at the time and the operation was successful, but because of this incident, my mother had mental problems. Even though her body was cured, she eventually passed away.

Of course, these things have nothing to do with the fact that I am not a doctor, it’s just... I have seen too many separations and deaths, and I’m a little too tired.

I simply quit my job and came here to make noodles. I also opened a small clinic and prescribed medicine for the patients who came here.”

After the boss said this, he removed the block from Ren Feng's body and wrapped it with a few more rounds of bandages.

"Try not to move your arms for five hours. It's good for your recovery."

"Well, thank you, boss."

"It's just a small matter." The boss was tidying up the medical supplies on the table, and Ren Feng had finished eating his noodles.

"Boss, how much is it? It includes treatment."

"12 yuan. I won't charge you for the treatment. It's not much anyway."

"Thank you, boss. I will come again." Ren Feng's pupils flickered. After thanking him, he paid the bill and turned to leave.

"I'm gone... Haha, it's so easy to fool you. I can just tell you a random story."

Not long after Ren Feng left, a man wearing a white mask appeared behind the boss. The boss who had previously treated Ren Feng was now staring blankly at the ground.

"The seeds have been planted, and I look forward to the day when they bloom and bear fruit...my hero."

……

After returning to the hotel, Ren Feng suddenly felt a little sleepy. He fell asleep soon after lying on the bed.

The next morning at eight o'clock.

Ren Feng opened his eyes and the drizzle began to fall again. Ren Feng glanced at his cell phone and his eyes gradually became clear. He got up from the bed and put on his clothes.

"set off!"
