Rebirth of the Republic of China: The Story of the Chaebol

Chapter 123: South China Military Reform (Part )

The affairs of the four African countries had already been arranged, so Sun Tong naturally didn't need to worry about that.

The most important thing for Sun Tong or for the entire Nanhua at the moment is the reform of the army.

Given the Japanese's arrogance and huge ambitions, there is no way they would not be tempted by the big piece of fat meat of Nanhua. Relying on Nanhua's own military strength, there will naturally be no problem in dealing with the Japanese.

Not to mention other weapons, just relying on the missile technology and ultra-long-range bombers in Nanhua's hands, it would not be difficult to deal with the Japanese.

But the question is, how could Sun Tong defeat the Japanese so quickly?

It is true that the existence of the devils would bring great suffering to the Chinese, but every problem has two sides. It was precisely because of the existence of the devils that Sun Tong had the opportunity to start his long-planned "swallowing plan".

As for those who died at the hands of the Japanese during this period, it was not that Sun Tong was heartless, but for the sake of his own and the country's interests, Sun Tong could only say sorry to them.

People stand in different positions, so they naturally see the problem from different angles.

In his heart, he really wanted to kill all the Japanese devils directly, but if there was no troublemaker like the Franco-Fascist Alliance, Sun Tong wanted to develop South China into a major power that could influence the world situation. It was unknown when he would have the opportunity to do so.

Ever since Sun Tong, the monarch of Nanhua, issued the order for military reform, the Ministry of National Defense has been dealing with the issue of military reform.

After this reform, the number of South China National Defense Forces will directly reach 440 million, including 200 million in the army, 180 million in the navy, and 60 in the air force.

Among them, the 200 million people of the army are divided into 130 group armies and divisions. After the military reform, the army-level units will become temporary organizations and will not be permanently established.

Division-level units are divided into four categories: A, B, C, and D. Among them, the A-level division is the Guards division, which has a total of ten, numbered 1 to 10.

The Type A division of the South China National Defense Army is composed of three mechanized infantry regiments (3000 people), one armored regiment (2000 people), one artillery regiment (1500 people), one rocket artillery regiment (1500), one air defense regiment (1000 people), one transport and supply regiment (2000 people), one airborne regiment (2000 people), one special operations brigade (300 people), one division guard battalion (500 people), and division headquarters (200 people, including intelligence personnel, communications personnel, and medical personnel, etc.), totaling people.

As the most powerful force in the entire South China, these ten Type A regiments of South China are the most elite forces not only within South China but also in the world.

At present, except for the 1st and 3rd divisions which are stationed in the capital, the remaining eight divisions are dispersed throughout South China.

The Type B Divisions under the Type A Divisions are the units in the South China Army whose combat effectiveness is second only to the Type A Divisions. There are a total of twenty of them, and these twenty divisions are numbered 11 to 30.

The Type B Division of the South China National Defense Army has fewer people than the Type A Division. Not only does the Type B Division have one less space regiment than the Type A Division, but the Type B Division also has much less heavily equipped troops than the Type A Division.

In a Type A division, artillery is artillery, rocket troops are rocket troops, and air defense troops are air defense troops. But in a Type B division, the entire division has only one artillery regiment, which is composed of a rocket artillery battalion, an air defense battalion, a howitzer battalion and a mortar battalion.

It seemed that the Type B Division had everything in place, but after many actual combat exercises, everyone had to admit one fact: although the Type B Division had only 5,000 fewer people than the Type A Division, the difference in combat power between the two was not something that could be matched by just 5,000 people.

Let’s put it this way, one Type A division of Nanhua can at least take on two Type B divisions alone. If the commander is more capable, it is not impossible for him to take on three to four Type B divisions alone.

After talking about Type B divisions, the next are Type C and Type D divisions. These two levels of troops are not actually Nanhua’s regular field troops. The so-called Type C divisions are actually Nanhua’s local garrison troops. The combat effectiveness of these troops is much worse than that of Type A and Type B divisions, but in terms of numbers, there is no difference between Type C and Type B divisions.

Even in terms of equipment, the Type C division is no different from the Type B division except for the lack of rocket launchers and armored regiments.

Because they were a garrison force, when the Type C division was formed, the military directly removed their armored regiment and instead added an infantry regiment to them. In addition, the artillery regiment of the Type C division not only lost its rocket artillery battalion, but even the other three battalions were downsized.

But even so, with the firepower configuration of these Type C divisions, if they were placed in the whole of Asia, they would definitely be considered the best-equipped troops.
