HP: I just wanted to drop out of school, but I saved the world
Chapter 168 Grimmauld Place (1)
"Welcome to number 12, Grimmauld Place—"
Sirius took the cold object from Harry's hand and put it into Jane's hand. He looked like a tail was wagging wildly behind him:
"Here you go, Jade! The portkey I made—"
Jian Yu looked at his palm and was surprised to find that the key was a silver badge with a big dog engraved on it.
Judging from its crude workmanship, it was obviously made by Sirius in a hurry.
Because it is still dropping silver powder.
Wait...silver powder?
An absurd guess suddenly popped up in Jian Yu's mind. She recalled the four silver crucibles she had blown up.
"What did you make this key out of?"
Sirius' eyes lit up, obviously her question hit the point:
"Jade! I knew you could tell!"
"Old Bat's cauldron, of course!"
Even Harry seemed proud of it. He scratched his head, with pride in his green eyes:
"We lay in ambush at Spinner's End for three full days! Unfortunately, we only saw the cauldron that Snape ordered."
"Owls have delivered lots of cauldrons—it's like he bought the cauldron shop—"
Sirius couldn't wait to continue Harry's words. With a triumphant smile on his face, he gestured to Jane with his hands:
"We hijacked the owl - made some custom designs for the Crucibles - and put it back where it belonged -"
"I bet the old bat didn't expect us to chip away at the bottom of his cauldron!"
"After a day and a half, he finally discovered the problem with the crucible and fell into our trap of luring the tiger away from the mountain—"
Case solved.
The culprit was standing right in front of her!
Jian Yu looked at Harry with sympathetic eyes——
Look at this silly kid, how excited he is. Didn’t he expect what he will face after school starts?
She could already imagine Gryffindor's scoring hourglass reaching zero!
Apparently Sirius had not considered his dear godson when he formulated this brilliant plan to shave the bottom of the cauldron -
He also had to undergo four years of compulsory education in Potions under Snape.
Harry felt uneasy when he saw Jian Yu's eyes.
Why doesn't she speak?
Was it because she was angry because I took the jade away without saying a word?
His eyes were erratic, he was stammering, and his face was beginning to turn red:
"Uh... sorry... I was so excited... I should have told you first..."
But Jian Yu quickly forgave the protagonist.
Because her guardian, Dumbledore, had already walked down the stairs and was staring at the godfather and son with a kind look.
......
"I can't believe this." Dumbledore shook his head and sighed in a disappointed tone, "Sirius, I never thought--"
"I've been waiting here for a whole day... Kreacher said you guys went out to do something immoral... I thought he was joking... I didn't expect... Alas..."
He never expected that he would see her again at the Black mansion just after sending the child to Snape!
If stealing Harry is excusable, after all, they are godfather and godson -
But stealing the jade from Snape? Or from Slytherin, the one Sirius hated the most?
This is really wrong!
This Sirius Black must have picked up some bad habits in Azkaban!
Not even St. Mungo's could cure him!
Facing Dumbledore's blaming gaze, Sirius and Harry huddled together obediently, both of them watching each other's minds.
They never imagined that after going through so many difficulties and finally succeeding in stealing the person back, they would run into the real guardian!
"It was just an accident - Snivellus... Snape has never looked after a child before, I'm perfectly happy to do it -"
Sirius racked his brains to argue for himself, but he was interrupted by Dumbledore.
"No, no, Sirius, I don't think an owl to send me a letter would be a problem for you."
"To be honest, I'm a little disappointed... I hope you can be more rational... I thought that Harry being with you would make you less impatient and reckless..."
Under such pressure, Sirius remained silent. He felt like he was back in his student days when he was scolded by his professor, and Harry's head almost dropped to the ground.
They all turned their eyes to Jian Yu for help.
Too bad they only got her expressionless profile.
"Well -" Dumbledore walked ahead and entered the living room on the second floor, "I am here for an important matter, Sirius. I know this may be difficult for you to accept - but Jade and I found the body of Regulus."
It was difficult for Jian Yu to describe the chaotic scene that followed.
Regulus, who had turned into an Inferi, was twisting and squirming on the ground. Sirius fell into an armchair with a dent in the middle. He dug his ten fingers deeply into his hair, staring fixedly at his brother's twisting body on the ground, seeming to find it hard to accept this situation.
He didn't cry, but when he spoke again his voice was completely hoarse:
"My foolish brother, too weak in character... actually believed my parents' words that pure blood means nobility... He is their proud son..."
"Stupid... He joined the Death Eaters, he wants to quit... But how can Voldemort... Either serve for life or die..."
Perhaps because he had witnessed too many deaths over the years, Sirius looked gloomy but calm. After a moment of silence, he drew out his wand:
"I have to bury him... After so many years... I have been mentally prepared..."
But with a snap of fingers, a house-elf appeared in front of Jane Yu. It pounced on Regulus and blocked the tip of Sirius's wand.
It looked very old, with wrinkles all over its skin and large bat-like ears full of white hair. Its eyes were bloodshot, and it had obviously been crying for a long time. It was gasping for breath, staring at Regulus' pale face, and screaming:
"No! Obscene...Master Sirius!" The elf swallowed back the curse words that almost came out of his mouth, and tears flowed down his long nose into his grinning mouth, "Please leave Master Regulus! Kreacher can take care of him!"
"What are you talking about, Kreacher?" Sirius shouted back irritably, "He's dead! It's an Inferi!"
Kreacher trembled and staggered, and turned over to face him, closing his eyes tightly, his shriveled chest rising and falling rapidly:
"Kreacher is willing to take care of Master Regulus. No matter what the master becomes, Kreacher is willing to--"
"Kreacher has taken care of the young master since he was a baby - so what about the Inferi -"
Sirius stared at it and looked like he wanted to give it a sock right then and there.
His eyes were filled with complex emotions, as if he discovered for the first time that Kreacher was a creature with sensitive emotions like humans.
The tip of his staff slowly dropped.
"Whatever you want," he said.
Kreacher felt as if he had been pardoned. He stood up tremblingly, supporting his body with his two thin legs, and looked at Jian Yu with his big, light-bulb-like eyes.
"My dear lady." It bent down with great effort and bowed deeply to her, "Thank you, Kreacher has cleaned up the room for you--"
Harry and Sirius had indescribable expressions on their faces.
You know, after they checked in, all they got was a room full of vixens and boggarts!
Kreacher didn't even look at them, as if giving them another glance would dirty his eyes.
It disappeared up the stairs carrying Regulus.
