Double Life: My whole world is you

Chapter 510: The Courage That Lost His Reason

When Weiwei pouted in dissatisfaction and wanted to say something, Cheng Qiao immediately stood up and took her arm, "Weiwei, I'll go down with you."

"You guys go down quickly, I'll go heat up the dishes." Cheng's mother ordered, and then stood up and carried two dishes. Cheng's aunt signaled Fangfang, who was playing with her phone, to help carry a few dishes into the kitchen.

The three of them went downstairs together. Weiwei complained all the way, but she stopped talking when they were about to reach the entrance of the community. She looked outside cautiously.

The three of them didn't have to wait long outside the door before Yong, a man with blond hair, appeared in front of them. Cheng Zhu and Wei Wei hid back in fear. Cheng Qiao politely greeted him, "Cousin."

"Well, lead the way." Yong ordered.

Cheng Qiao pulled the two of them and walked in front. Just as he turned around, Yong ordered them, "Go buy me a pack of cigarettes."

"I don't have any money." Cheng Zhu answered honestly. Cheng Qiao and Cheng Zhu gave the red envelope they just received to Cheng's mother.

"Wei, you have a job, so you must have money on you. Go buy me two packs of 40-yuan bottles." Yong gave orders from behind the three men.

"I don't want it." Weiwei refused angrily.

"Who gave you the courage to say no?" Yong's voice was raised to a higher pitch. His eyes widened and his hands unconsciously raised. Chengzhu pulled Weiwei with some fear and gently called, "Little cousin."

"Really? I owe you this." Weiwei said and pulled Cheng Zhu away first. Cheng Qiao also wanted to chase after him, but Yong ordered, "Lead the way."

Seeing him like this, Cheng Qiao felt scared, so she nodded obediently, "Okay."

The two of them didn't communicate along the way. Cheng Qiao led the way at a steady pace, and looked back from time to time to see if he was keeping up. When they reached the sixth floor, Yong was a little out of breath. He asked impatiently, "Which floor is it?"

Cheng Qiao quickly climbed four steps and answered after she was half a floor away from him, "Ninth floor."

"What?" Yong glared at him unhappily, "Why rent such a high floor? Climbing the stairs is exhausting."

Cheng Qiao's expression remained unchanged, but she was complaining in her heart. [Don't you have no money? If you had money, you would definitely buy an apartment with an elevator. ]

After they stood there quietly for two minutes, Cheng Qiao saw Yong continue to climb up, so she hurried forward as well. After a while, Cheng Qiao finally arrived home first. She called out, "Mom, Auntie."

Cheng Gu immediately stood up when she heard her voice and asked, "Where is your cousin?"

"In the back." Cheng Qiao answered and went to help in the kitchen. Although she didn't need to help in the kitchen, she didn't like being with Yong at this age. If she wasn't careful, she would get hurt. And she would have no one to complain about the injury.

"Where have you been? Why are you back so late?" Although Cheng Gu asked inquiringly, her tone was gentle.

After Yong pulled a chair and sat down, he pulled another chair and put his feet on it, and said impatiently, "You don't care."

"You will be twenty-one after the Chinese New Year. You have to learn to grow up too." Cheng Gu pulled a chair and sat down next to him and said earnestly, "How are you and Xiao Wan? Why didn't you bring her back during this period? When you are old enough, you can get married."

"We broke up." He replied angrily.

"Why? Xiaowan is pretty, tall, and has a good job." Cheng Gu was a little surprised, so she asked in a somewhat accusatory manner, "Is it because you have a bad temper and irritated her?"

"That bitch thought our family was poor, so she found someone rich." Yong glared at Cheng Gu unhappily after saying this, "It's all your fault and my dad's useless."

"This is really your father's fault. He is not motivated and doesn't want to make money every day. People of his age who are capable can make hundreds of thousands a year. But he can't even make tens of thousands a year. He can only take care of himself." Cheng Gu also complained.

Cheng Qiao stood by the kitchen door and shook her head. Fang Fang stood silently in a corner of the kitchen reading an e-novel. Cheng's mother seemed not to have heard. She turned off the gas and called for the two to take the dishes out.

Cheng's mother was a little surprised not to see Weiwei and Chengzhu. She looked towards Cheng Qiao and asked, "Where are Weiwei and Chengzhu?"

"They went to buy cigarettes for their cousin." Cheng Qiao replied.

"Why are you still taking so long to buy two packs of cigarettes?" Yong kicked the stool he was resting his feet on to the ground angrily.

Cheng's mother looked a little unhappy, after all, this was her home. When she was about to invite Yong to dinner, she didn't say a word. She turned around and said to Cheng Qiao, "Qiao, it's late at night and it's New Year's Eve. Why haven't the two come back yet? Call Weiwei."

When Cheng Qiao was about to take out her cell phone to make a call, Weiwei and Chengzhu came back. Chengzhu glanced at Yong who was sitting in the middle and said nothing. He quietly came to Cheng's mother's side. Weiwei came in from behind and handed the cigarette to Yong with a sullen face.

"What's your attitude?" Yong glared at her and raised his foot to kick her. Weiwei reacted quickly and ran away.

"Where's the lighter? How can I smoke without buying a lighter?" he asked loudly.

"You didn't tell me, so how would I know you don't have a lighter?" Weiwei argued, standing beside him.

"Can't you use your fucking brain?" he yelled angrily.

Cheng Ma's face became even uglier, but she still rationally instructed Cheng Zhu, "Zhu, go and give him the lighter in the kitchen."

Chengzhu reluctantly went into the kitchen and took out the lighter and placed it in front of him. He probably had a craving for cigarettes, so he didn't care about eating and directly took the lighter to light the cigarette and started smoking.

Smelling the smoke, Cheng Qiao felt his throat itchy and couldn't help but cough twice.

Cheng Gu did not blame him at all for his behavior, but still persuaded him, "It's almost ten o'clock, you should eat something first! The temperature is low and it will be cold soon."

"Don't be so long-winded." He responded and continued to order, "Give me a thousand dollars."

"What do you want to do with a thousand dollars?" Cheng Gu asked.

"You don't care, I'm useful."

"If you don't tell me, I can't give it to you." Cheng Gu said something tough that was rare.

"What should I do with a thousand dollars? Don't I need to eat or drink?" he asked angrily.

"During the New Year holidays, you are not allowed to go out. You can only stay at home." Cheng Gu said, "I am not going to work these days. There are food and drinks at home. I also bought a few packs of cigarettes and kept them at home."

"You just lock me up at home every day. Isn't it annoying?" Yong was already extremely impatient.

"I'm doing this for your own good. It's rare for me to be at home for a few days, so I can take care of you." Cheng Gu looked at him tenderly and said.

"Everything is for my own good? What exactly did you do for me?" Yong stood up angrily. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. "It's all because of you and the old man's incompetence that I'm looked down upon by others and my girlfriends betray me one after another. Ah! Why was I born into such a family?"

He was so angry that he wanted to grab something to vent his anger, and finally he just pushed the table to the ground...
