Chapter 160 Trial
Right above the Opicle Opera House, there stood a majestic and magnificent platform, on which stood Villette, the supreme judge.
His voice rolled like thunder, echoing throughout the theater, making everyone present feel his majesty.
"Silence!" He announced loudly again, his voice revealing unquestionable majesty, "Now that both parties have arrived, the trial of this emergency incident involving a magic performance has officially begun."
Following Villette's announcement, the entire theater seemed to be shrouded in a powerful aura, and all the audience held their breath, looking forward to the trial process that would follow.
This was not just a simple accident in a magic show, it even involved a case that happened in Fontaine's home twenty years ago.
Villette's eyes were as sharp as torches as he scanned the crowd below, finally settling on Linnie.
Linnie stood on a platform, his face showing some nervousness and uneasiness, but more of determination and confidence.
"Mr. Linnie, please tell us about your magic tricks." Villette's voice sounded again, with a hint of doubt in his tone.
"Okay, I'll explain my magic tricks in detail." Linnie took a deep breath and began to talk. His words were full of professional terms and complicated explanations, but his expression remained calm and confident.
"Linnet, will cooperate with me in the demonstration." Linny suddenly turned to Linnet who was standing behind him.
Linnet nodded and walked onto the stage.
Her movements were graceful and smooth, as if she and Linnie had some kind of tacit understanding.
Under Linny's guidance, she began to demonstrate the magic performance process, while Linny explained the secrets.
The audience was stunned. They originally thought that magic was just a simple performing art, but now they found that it contained so many skills.
They sincerely admired Linney's talent and wisdom, and were also looking forward to the trial.
"Then Mr. Linny, I can take your testimony as saying that when the magic show started, you were hiding in the magic box in the audience, and there is no possibility that you committed a crime. Is that right?" Villette repeated Linny's testimony so that everyone in the audience could better understand what was going on.
"Yes, Mr. Inquisitor." Linnie said sincerely.
"So, Ms. Funina, as the accuser, do you have any objection to this?" Villette looked at Funina opposite her and asked.
"Of course, of course!" Funina turned sideways and pointed her right hand at Lini, "Mr. Lini, you're lying again!"
"Because you're going to kidnap Halsey and kill Cowell, you can't stay in the magic box the whole time, or even in the tunnel for a long time."
"It's just your speculation based on my guilt, that's all."
While the heated debate was going on in the opera house, in the square outside.
"Is that so? The court session has already begun. Can we really not go in?" A tall woman with long burgundy hair was stopped by guards outside the opera house.
"Um... yes, young lady, if you want to watch the trial, please come earlier next time." The guard said to the woman, with no intention of letting her go.
"Okay, I wish you a nice day at work." The woman walked in with a swagger.
The guards didn't respond.
Inside the opera house, Linnie is trying to defend himself.
However, at this moment, Villette's gaze suddenly turned to a corner in the dark.
He sensed a strange aura there, as if something was secretly watching the trial.
"Silence!" he declared loudly, with a hint of seriousness and vigilance in his voice.
Everyone's eyes turned in that direction, and they saw a figure walking out of the darkness.
Her appearance plunged the entire theater into a dead silence, with only Villette's voice echoing in the air.
"Miss, please do not walk around during the trial?" Villette asked vigilantly.
"Excuse me, Grand Inquisitor Mr. Villette, I was just in a hurry and wanted to check out the venue for future performances." The auditorium was full, so everyone did not take a seat.
"The venue for the performance?" Funina, who had just been arguing with Linnie, noticed the highlight.
"What's your name?" Funina shouted loudly on the stage, but the fact is, inside this huge opera house, even a whisper can be heard by people dozens of meters away. This is probably the law of the world.
"My name is Eden, and I'm just an ordinary singer." Her voice is gentle and pleasant, as if it can make people forget all their worries.
The woman was Eden, created by Bo Chang using crystal.
The whole place was silent, especially Funina, who wished she could jump down and have a chat with Bo Chang right now.
"Is he the singer from the album 'Children Who Sent Water'?"
"I didn't expect she would come to see the show of the trial."
"Miss Eden I'm your dog!"
There was a lot of chatter in the audience.
Bo Chang looked in the direction of the voice and saw the man instantly shrink his neck and hide behind the seat. It seemed that it was his first time as a dog repairman and he was quite shy.
I smiled in that direction, but unfortunately the man couldn't see it.
"Silence!" Villette tapped his cane. "The trial is still going on, don't make any noise.
"I just wanted to come and see the trial process." Bo Chang explained, "My friend is very interested in magic performances."
Although her words were simple, they made everyone present feel her sincerity and kindness.
Navrette was silent for a moment, and finally nodded: "Well... Ms. Eden, you must promise not to disrupt the order of the court again before the trial is over."
"Thank you for your understanding." Bo Chang said gratefully, "I will comply with your request."
Funina continued to refute, wanting to quickly resolve this court session. "Your testimony cannot completely eliminate your suspicion. There is no unfounded confidence. You and Linnet are actually from the Hearth House! Right?"
This sentence was like a bombshell, and the audience burst into an uproar.
"The Hearth House, as I recall, is the Fatui."
"No wonder he would do such a thing."
"It turns out that the serial disappearance of young girls was done by the Fatui."
"Then I guess the accident on stage wasn't an accident?"
The balance directly above was tilting towards Funina.
"Even if it's the Hearth House, it can't prove that we have a direct connection with this case." Linnie was obviously a little annoyed when the identity of the Hearth House was exposed.
"Then it's indirect?" Funina said indifferently.
"Mr. Linny, do you accept Ms. Funina's testimony? And is it true that Ms. Funina accuses you and Linnett of being members of the Hearth House?" Navilet asked Linny.
"I choose to adjourn the court!" Ying, who had been beside Lin Ni, spoke up, "My client is hiding something from me, and we need to communicate."
"The demands are reasonable, so we will adjourn the case."
