The Charles Becomes a Wizard

The cold gray met eyes that were like dried bloodstains. The crow on the branch tilted its head, flapped its wings, and flew away.

It seemed that they knew that the wizards intended to kill them all, so even though countless of their companions had died, the huge spiders' offensive remained unabated.
