The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 187 Villa
A completely black car stopped in front of Baron Kelbin's villa.
The butler, dressed in a neat tuxedo, got out from the passenger seat and opened the rear door.
The person who stepped out of the car was not Count Phantomhive.
Joker heard the sound, opened the door and walked out. He looked at the short boy with a trace of confusion in his eyes.
It’s not because he didn’t know the boy. After all, the information his father gave him contained a photo of the boy, and he was one of the “candies” his father had been dreaming of.
But how come he is here?
My father clearly said that the person coming would be Count Phantomhive.
But no matter what, after seeing the "candy" he had been longing for, father should be in a better mood...right?
If my father is happy, will he allow everyone on Noah's Ark to evacuate from London?
Joker, who had collected countless "candies" from all over the country for Baron Kelpien over the years, subconsciously ignored all the unreasonable things.
For example, why would Count Phantomhive, known as the "noble of evil", allow his helpless son to take a butler with him to confront Baron Kelpien, who might be the mastermind behind many children's disappearances?
For example, why does the boy have such a peaceful look on his face?
For example, why did this thin boy make him feel more oppressed than his father?
For example:……
Joker was chosen by Baron Kelpien to be the head of the circus not only because he was loyal enough, but also because he was the smartest one among the children.
Such a person could certainly realize the sense of incongruity in Ciel, but his years of experience in dealing with children of Ciel's age allowed him to suppress the uneasiness in his heart.
"Welcome, Mr. Phantomhive." Joker bowed to Ciel. "The Baron has been waiting for a long time, and the dinner is ready."
"I don't know if Count Phantomhive..."
"Father has important matters to attend to and doesn't have time to come." Charles interrupted Joker by tapping the ground with his cane.
"Why, it's just me, isn't it okay?"
"How come?" Joker replied with a smile, his eyes slightly curved, his blue-purple eyes full of gloom. "The Baron has been looking forward to your arrival."
In fact, Vincent originally intended to handle the matter himself - after he learned that Baron Kelpien had set his sights on his two sons, he wanted to cut this "nobody" into pieces.
It's just that Charles asked Sebastian to send him a message, saying that "he wanted to meet in person the guy who dared to regard me as 'prey'."
After hearing what Charles said, Vincent, who wanted to make up for his previous debt to Charles, would certainly not refuse his son's rare request to him, so he simply gave up his previous plan.
As I walked through the door, I saw a dark hall. The curtains on the first floor were drawn tightly, and even the moon hanging high in the sky could not let in any light.
The door slowly closed behind him, and then Charles heard a slight "click" sound, and then the candle on the chandelier hanging in the center of the hall was lit.
The house didn't seem to have electricity, and the huge chandelier still used ordinary candles.
With the dim light of the candle, Charles finally saw the specific appearance of the hall.
Nailed on the wall was a life-size doll that looked like it was curled up, but was actually torn into pieces. The doll had brilliant golden hair, was naked, had a slightly childish face, and had a pair of blue eyes that stared straight at the door, with a strange smile on the corner of its mouth.
Of course, there is not only this one puppet in the hall. Traces of puppets can be seen in almost every corner, from the smooth marble floor to the high dome. Dolls in various postures are nailed scattered on the walls. They are exquisitely made, but it is obvious to the naked eye that they are not finished.
Missing arms and legs is the norm, and there is a sense of beauty in imperfection.
Even the velvet green sofa was decorated with the torsos of several bare dolls.
The most eye-catching one is the life-size doll in the shape of a "big" character, hanging under the chandelier with thin strings. From a distance, it looks like a real person.
Even in the corners, the remains of "dolls" were randomly piled up. Those chilling "parts" glowed coldly under the dim, flickering candlelight.
No, maybe they shouldn't be called "parts", they should be called -
prosthetics.
Ciel's gaze shifted from those "prosthetic limbs" to Joker's right hand which only had a skeleton, and his eyes darkened.
Combined with the weird and bloody paintings on the walls, the whole house gives people a weird and uneasy feeling.
"What should we do? Should we kill him now and rescue the children?" Sebastian asked in a low voice.
"Wait a minute, if the children are still alive, it would be better to capture Kelpien first." Ciel rejected his suggestion.
"Father won't be able to report to the Queen if he doesn't first find out his purpose and what's going on."
"As ordered."
Ciel and Sebastian followed Joker up the stairs to the second floor. There was still no light in the long corridor. However, with the cool moonlight outside the window, it was not difficult to see the scene in front of them.
"I really didn't expect that!" Joker paused, turned around and smiled at Sebastian.
"Mr. Michaelis is actually the butler of the Phantomhive family."
"I originally thought you could become our partner."
"Ah, it's really an honor." Sebastian said with a smile: "But as long as the young master still exists in this world, I will never betray him."
Joker was stunned for a moment, his eyes fell on Ciel.
He didn't understand why someone like Sebastian, who obviously would not be content to be inferior to others, would follow this seemingly ordinary boy so obediently.
"Mr. Joker, you should understand that in order to get what you want, some things must be done." The devil's gaze fell on Charles in front of him, and he did not hide the covetousness in his eyes.
"...Ah." The expression on Joker's face became strange for a moment. He responded softly, clenched his intact left hand into a fist, and after a moment, walked towards the room at the end of the corridor without saying a word.
Pushing open the door in front of me, what appeared in front of me was a room of considerable size. In the middle was a long dining table with exquisite tableware and candlesticks on it. Strangely, all the chairs were placed on the same side.
