The Charles Becomes a Wizard

Chapter 249 Goblet of Fire and?

Before the competition officially begins, there are still many things that need to be prepared, so the students from Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will temporarily live in the Hogwarts Castle throughout the semester.

Students from the three schools lived together, and their different habits and rules occasionally led to conflicts. From time to time, staff from the Ministry of Magic would enter the castle in the name of the Triwizard Tournament, which caused considerable trouble for Howard's management.

But in order to prevent Mr. Grindelwald from looking down on him, Howard gritted his teeth and persevered.

To ensure fairness, all students who want to participate in the Triwizard Tournament must write their names and school names on a piece of parchment and throw it into a magical prop called the Goblet of Fire. On Halloween night, the Goblet of Fire will select the names of three students who it thinks best represent the three schools.

Once a participant is selected by the Goblet of Fire, he or she will be bound by a magical contract and cannot withdraw from the competition.

The Goblet of Fire was placed in the castle's foyer so that all students who wanted to sign up for the Warriors could touch it. In order to prevent underage students from being tempted, Howard also deliberately placed other magic around the Goblet of Fire to prevent unqualified students from voting for it.

The magic Howard had set up was very tight. Even though the little animals were unwilling to accept the age limit announced by the Ministry of Magic and used all their tricks, they still had no way to break through the defense line.

Every student who put his or her name in the Goblet of Fire would draw cheers from the surrounding students. The red flames that suddenly shot out from the Goblet of Fire devoured the parchment, and faint sparks splashed everywhere. The danger of the Triwizard Tournament was clearly demonstrated from the stage of selecting warriors.

The chosen "warriors" would likely be swallowed up by the greedy flames as easily as the parchment with their names on it, but the ignorant and fearless children only thought that this was a symbol of bravery and a very glorious thing.

After everyone's eager anticipation, Halloween is finally here.

The costume party, which was the most popular among the animals in Hogwarts in previous years, did not have many people paying attention to their costumes this time, and the Goblet of Fire was once again placed in the center of the hall.

Everyone's attention was consciously or unconsciously focused on the goblet that looked very simple and antique. Their burning gazes seemed to want to stare a hole in the goblet.

The students who had already entered their names into the Goblet of Fire were so nervous and excited that they could hardly eat the sumptuous and delicious meal. Those students who had not reached the age limit were all guessing who would be chosen by the Goblet of Fire and become the luckiest person in the entire school.

"If you ask me, Viktor Krum is definitely a warrior of Durmstrang, there is no doubt about that." Ron Weasley, who was sitting at the Gryffindor table, turned his head and said to Harry in a firm tone.

"Oh, my dear little brother." George Weasley, who had come over at some point, put his arm around Ron Weasley's shoulders. "You're still so obsessed with him."

"Oh~ Viktor Krum, you are really awesome!" Fred Weasley poked his head out from behind Harry.

"Hey! You two keep your voices down!" Ron Weasley hurriedly reached out to cover the twins' mouths, and carefully observed whether Viktor Krum heard the noise they made.

"Don't worry, dear Ron," George Weasley said with a strange smile on his face, "your idol is at the Slytherin table. He can't hear anything we say here."

"But if you like him so much, why didn't you ask him for an autograph?" Fred Weasley asked. "Don't you have a collection of his posters?"

Before Ron Weasley could speak, George Weasley followed up with a sentence. "Is that even a question? Our dear Ron must be shy, like a little girl..."

"Fred!" Ron Weasley yelled in anger.

"I'm George." The man who was glared at spread his hands.

"George!"

"Well, actually I'm Fred."

"..."

The Weasley twins teased Ron Weasley for a while, then ran away arm in arm before he got completely mad, leaving Ron Weasley, whose face was flushed with anger, stabbing the meat on the plate with his fork, which was out of tune with the lively atmosphere at the Gryffindor table.

"Ron, don't be angry." Harry began to smooth things over helplessly, "You know they don't mean any harm, they just like to joke around."

Ron Weasley was choked by Harry's words, and his eyes were red. "But I don't think it's funny at all."

Harry, who didn't have the talent of "comfort", didn't understand why Ron was so persistent this time. Ron knew the twins' temperaments, and there was no need to take their words to heart...

Is Ron being a little too stingy now?

But after all, Ron Weasley was his best friend, so Harry patiently advised him a few more times, and he deliberately ignored the subtle discomfort in his heart.

The dinner was over and the much-anticipated moment finally arrived.

The candlelight around the hall dimmed under the control of magic, making the highball glass burning with a faint blue flame placed in the center particularly conspicuous.

As the principal of the host school of this Triwizard Tournament, Howard was responsible for announcing the champions selected by the Goblet of Fire to everyone. He walked slowly towards the Goblet of Fire placed on the podium, his palm touched the outside of the Goblet of Fire and then left, then silently stepped back a few steps.

After a moment, the dark blue flame was dyed with a bright red color. The red flame rolled and jumped. The high temperature even caused the air above the flame to become distorted.

Then a piece of parchment with sparks on it was spit out.

Howard reached out and grasped the dark parchment, carefully identifying the words on it: "The champion of Durmstrang is Viktor Krum!"

As soon as he finished speaking, cheers rang out from the Durmstrang team, and Viktor Krum walked up to Howard in full view of everyone.

Howard shook his hand, then made a please gesture towards the platform. Turning left, there was a small door with a not-too-big room where all the selected warriors needed to wait for a while.

After Viktor Krum left the hall, the Goblet of Fire quickly spit out the second note, and Howard read aloud: "The Beauxbatons Champion is Fleur Delacour!"

A young girl with waist-length silver hair and green eyes shining with silver light stood out with a smile on her face amid the cheers of the crowd, and her slender figure quickly disappeared around the corner.

Now only the Hogwarts Champion has yet to be chosen.
