The Charles Becomes a Wizard

Chapter 267 Talk about Zhanghe?

Is Harry really that lucky?

not necessarily.

Ciel looked at Harry who left the Black Lake amidst everyone's praises and shook his head silently.

If he was really lucky, he wouldn't have become the youngest "Warrior" in history.

How can it be considered "lucky" to endure all kinds of dangers, bear pressure that others cannot understand, and risk one's life in exchange for false glory that may disappear at any time amidst the doubts and gossip of others?

Seeing such a glorious scene now, who would have thought that just a few months ago Harry was a "liar" who was ridiculed and mocked?

Many times, the will of a group can be easily manipulated and guided.

The people who will flock to you because of your temporary glory may also choose to betray you because of some trivial things. Only the binding of interests is more solid. You can trust your own character, but you cannot bet on the conscience of the other party. This is a very common and ordinary truth.

The savior who was cultivated by Dumbledore and has not yet experienced betrayal may not know this truth at present.

Charles withdrew his gaze, listened to Draco's occasional complaints, and walked towards the castle surrounded by a group of little snakes.

"Congratulations, Potter, you have done well." Old Barty Crouch was waiting by the lake early and said to Harry with a smile on his face.

Harry was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "Thank you."

He had never had any chance to meet alone with the Director of the International Magical Exchange and Cooperation Department before, so he was somewhat at a loss.

"Well done, kid." Barty Crouch Sr. said to himself as if he didn't notice Harry's discomfort. "It's a pity we never had a chance to have a good chat."

"After all, I'm already familiar with your story."

As they talked, the two walked towards a relatively secluded path.

"You are indeed outstanding. Your parents would be proud of you if they were alive." Old Barty Crouch looked at Harry with admiration.

Harry met his gaze and couldn't help but smile slightly.

"Of course, losing family members is very painful, but life must go on and we have to try to hold on."

Looking at the complicated expression on Barty Crouch Sr.'s face, Harry suddenly remembered that his son died in the Shrieking Shack a few years ago. The vigilance that had just risen in his heart because of the other party's nonsensical words disappeared.

Before he could think of any words to comfort the other person, he heard Sirius' voice from the side.

"Hey, Harry, you should go change your clothes. You can't stay like this." Sirius, who had already changed into clean clothes, walked over quickly and frowned at Harry, who was still huddled in the blanket.

"Battie, you are not planning to trick my godson into going to the Ministry of Magic as a summer intern, are you?" Sirius quickly looked at old Barty Crouch and then put his arm around Harry's shoulders and said with a smile: "I know our Harry is a good boy, but no."

"At least wait until he's in seventh grade."

"I think Harry wouldn't refuse a job offer by then."

Old Barty Crouch did not comment on this. He just encouraged Harry again, adjusted his hat, and turned away.

"Harry, you are too careless." After old Barty Crouch's back completely disappeared, Sirius' smile disappeared and he looked at Harry with disapproval and said this.

"Sirius?" Harry blinked in confusion.

"You should know that your current situation is very dangerous, and you should not leave other people's sight easily." God knows how anxious Sirius was when he turned around and found that Harry was gone again.

Harry certainly remembered all the things Sirius had told him during this period, but...

"Mr. Crouch is the director of the Department of International Magical Exchange and Cooperation." There shouldn't be any hostility towards him.

"Hmph," Sirius snorted coldly, "The old fox's background is not so clean either."

"His only son is a Death Eater. Who knows if he is secretly involved?"

how come?

Harry's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Back then, Barty Crouch Sr. was the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He was highly respected in the British wizarding world for his open opposition to Voldemort and was once the most promising Minister of Magic." Seeing Harry's disbelief, Sirius said patiently. "Later, his son was found to be a Death Eater. Although he was sent to Azkaban by himself, it is still unclear whether this man can be trusted."

"But, if that's the case, why is he still able to hold such an important position in the Ministry of Magic?" Harry couldn't help asking.

"Malfoy is still a real Death Eater. Didn't he survive after the fall of Voldemort?" Sirius asked back.

It was a very chaotic era. Some nobles who were good at protecting themselves cunningly used excuses such as "being controlled by the Imperius Curse" to get out of numerous charges. People had no way to confirm whether what they said was true, and they were afraid of the large amount of assets in their hands, so they could only let it go.

The evidence collection process was quite difficult, and only a few of those who were ultimately convicted and successfully sent to Azkaban were actually Death Eaters.

More Death Eaters who committed evil deeds under Voldemort's leadership are still at large.

But there was no need to tell Harry about this.

Seeing that Harry froze on the spot because of his words, Sirius reached out and pressed his shoulders.

"Listen, Harry, things in the wizarding world are very complicated. It's not something a child like you can handle, and you don't need to care about them. Now, can you promise me one thing? Something that only you can do."

Harry nodded subconsciously.

"Very good, Harry, I want you to promise me that you will never leave the group and act alone, no matter what. It must not happen again today. Can you do it?"

"Can......"

"Tell me," Sirius leaned down slightly and looked Harry in the eyes. Harry could clearly see the worry in his eyes, "Tell me, can you do this?"

Harry hesitated for a moment and whispered, "Yes."

"Very good." Sirius' face once again showed a bright smile. He bent down and kissed Harry on the forehead. "Believe me, I will definitely keep you safe. Everything will be fine."

"Now, our Gryffindor warrior should go change into clean clothes."

"Ah..." Harry responded again and didn't continue speaking.
