The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 32 Dumbledore’s invitation
"I'm sorry that my brother has caused you trouble." The person who spoke was also a Weasley, but he looked very serious and didn't look like a Gryffindor.
"Percy, you traitor! How could you..." Ron Weasley struggled hard, and the rest of his words were muffled by the twins.
Charles looked the boy up and down in front of him and said, "This is just the first time. It won't happen again."
He had no intention of denouncing all Gryffindors in one fell swoop. After all, Gryffindor should cherish anyone who had a brain and could speak properly.
"Thank you." Percy Weasley looked at Charles deeply and thanked him seriously.
Thanks to this Howler, Charles received a note from Phoenix during lunch.
Although, this so-called phoenix with a fiery red body does not look very good.
"Principal Dumbledore wants me to go to the principal's office after dinner." Charles said casually to Draco who was looking at him eagerly.
"!!!" Draco perked up: "You have to be careful!"
Since most of the elders of Slytherin were Death Eaters, Dumbledore, who was hostile to the Death Eaters and achieved temporary victories, was somewhat demonized in the eyes of the little snakes.
"I'm not going."
"What did you say!"
"I said, I don't plan to go." Charles supported his chin with one hand and looked up lazily at the white-haired old man on the podium.
"That's the principal's invitation!" Are you just going to reject him like that?
"What else?" Charles took a sip of the pumpkin juice in the cup. The sticky taste made him frown: "He didn't make an appointment, why should I listen to him?"
Anyway, he had been targeted by the old man since the Sorting Ceremony, so instead of being timid, he might as well indulge himself. Rather than doing things according to other people's arrangements, he still preferred the feeling of holding the initiative in his own hands...
Besides, he was really busy! Not to mention the part of the assets his father gave him, he was also in charge of the cooperation between Phantomhive and the Malfoy family in the wizarding world, plus all kinds of strange magic courses. Any of them was more important than a verbal confrontation with an old man, right?
Charles' refusal was obviously beyond everyone's expectations. The old man with white hair and beard looked down at the thin boy with an inexplicable expression. It took him a long while to hand Snape the note brought back by the Phoenix Fawkes.
The clear handwriting on it made Snape's expression freeze for a moment.
"Mr. Phantomhive, he seems to be very hard-working on weekdays." Dumbledore twisted his long beard and laughed. "He is still young, Severus, you should pay more attention to him."
As long as Harry Potter's personal safety was not involved, Snape was happy to see Dumbledore suffer a setback. He just sneered and said, "I thought it was basic etiquette to send out an invitation some time in advance."
"Oh, my child, you have grown up too." Dumbledore wiped the non-existent tears from the corners of his eyes with a handkerchief: "You never took this kind of superficial work to heart."
"This is all thanks to your help." Snape said with a forced smile.
"Severus, Mr. Phantomhive is a good boy," Dumbledore said with a gentle and kind voice, his blue eyes sparkling. "He deserves a good future. I don't want him to be affected by certain things."
Snape made a muffled nasal sound, suddenly stood up, threw his robes, and left the hall in a menacing manner.
The next night, Charles, who had suffered the dean's vicious attack, still appeared at the door of the principal's office. He spoke the order to open the door to the sculpture, and then walked into the principal's office from the spiral staircase behind the statue.
The principal's office looked very messy, with thick documents and books placed randomly on the floor, and the large desk was piled with parchment. In the corner of the room stood something that looked like a washbasin, and near the window stood a golden birdcage, with the ugly phoenix standing on the cage and looking a little unwell.
On the wall behind the desk hung portraits of various sizes. Charles carefully examined the notes on the corners of the portraits and discovered that they were all former headmasters of Hogwarts. The headmasters were gazing at him intently, occasionally discussing something in a low voice.
Dumbledore was not in the room for a while, so Ciel just looked around casually and then sat down in the chair opposite the desk.
Time passed by minute by minute, and Charles just sat there quietly, as if he had no curiosity at all.
About five minutes later, Charles stood up and politely said to the portrait on the wall: "Dear principals, I'm afraid that Principal Dumbledore is busy with something very important and has forgotten me. Could you please help me pass a message to Dumbledore?"
Yes, he wasn't going to wait any longer.
Dumbledore's little trick might be useful to others, but this clumsy show of power was simply ridiculous to Charles. Why couldn't he do something else with this time?
The people in the portrait all looked at Ciel.
Charles smiled slightly and was about to say something when he heard footsteps behind him.
What a coincidence!
So, can the principal really get information through the portrait?
Charles' eyes flashed, and he turned around to see Dumbledore wearing a dark purple robe with stars on it.
Hmm...seems a bit too fancy for his age.
"Mr. Phantomhive, you must have been waiting for a long time. Please take a seat." The white-haired old man smiled kindly.
"No, I just arrived too." Charles was polite to him.
"How about a cup of black tea?" Dumbledore tapped the desk with his wand, and instantly two cups of fragrant black tea appeared on the table.
Charles watched coldly as the old man added a lethal amount of sugar cubes into his cup until the liquid in the cup became viscous, and then he took a sip with satisfaction.
"Maybe, some more candy?" Dumbledore pinched another candy that looked like a wriggling cockroach and bit it into his mouth, making a crunching sound. "Oh, this is Honeydukes' new product - cockroach pile. Although it looks a bit strange, it tastes very good."
"No, thank you." Charles turned his eyes away, trying to ignore the stubble on Dumbledore's lips. He took a sip of tea and suppressed the nausea. "Mr. Dumbledore, what do you want to talk to me about?"
"Oh, oh... I wanted to ask, what do you think of Hogwarts? Is there anything you are not used to?"
"Hogwarts is pretty good, and my Slytherin classmates are very nice to me."
"Well," Dumbledore twirled the cup in his hand, "I heard that you had a little conflict with Mr. Weasley a few days ago?"
