The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 44 Homecoming and Crows
Charles still accepted Draco's invitation and sat in the Malfoy family's exclusive box.
Also invited were Zabini and Pansy Parkinson, but this time, their attitude towards Ciel was completely different from the first time they met on the train, and there was even some subtle flattery.
Perhaps he heard some news from Mr. Malfoy?
The carriage was very warm, Charles thought as he took off his leather gloves.
Although Ciel was a little indifferent to Pansy Parkinson, a girl with a bad temper, the friendship between nobles was usually not just about the two people who became friends, but more often represented the interests and positions of the families behind them.
Of course, there are also people who have gained their friendship because of their outstanding personal abilities. For example, the Malfoy family, whether it is Abraxas who brought his schoolmate with a miserable life to the forefront, Lucius who chose the gloomy and venomous potion master, or Draco who made friends with Ciel, a punk.
The Platinum Nobles lived up to their reputation for scheming and made the right choice every time.
Even though he looked snobbish and cold, Charles had no intention of breaking the unspoken tradition of friendship among the nobles over the years. Although it was a bit troublesome, there must be a reason why some things could exist for so many years.
Judging from the current relationship between these two people and Draco, the Zabini and Parkinson families may have already stood behind the Malfoy family.
In a sense, they and Charles are also one of the same people.
Apparently, the other three people in the box thought so too.
After everyone was seated, Draco took out his wand and cast a few anti-eavesdropping and anti-intrusion spells on the door of the box. Then, facing Charles' puzzled look, he shrugged: "Just in case."
Zabini tossed the gold Galleons in his hand, and the shiny gold coins fell from the air, spinning and falling. He caught them again. The boy in black leather leaned lazily on the back of the sofa like a boneless person. "Draco, have you started training to be the heir? Didn't Mr. Malfoy say that he would let you play for two more years?"
Based on Draco's previous level, it would not be easy to use these spells consecutively.
"Ah, father suddenly changed his mind." Because he felt that the contrast between himself and Charles was too tragic.
Draco touched his nose and was too embarrassed to say the second half of the sentence.
"What? Mr. Malfoy wants to attack Dumbledore?" Pansy Parkinson, who had been silent all this time, opened her mouth and made a critical hit.
"How do you know!" Draco blurted out.
Did the news leak out somewhere? Would Dumbledore take precautions in advance? No, he had to tell his father about this as soon as he got to Hogwarts.
"They may not have known before, but they should know now." Charles pressed his forehead helplessly and motioned Draco to look at the two surprised faces opposite him.
I guess Pansy Parkinson just wanted to tell a joke at first, but who knew it would turn out so badly.
Should I be thankful that Draco had cast a spell on the door beforehand?
"No," Zabini sat up straight with his eyes wide open. He deliberately lowered his voice and asked in a low voice, "Is Mr. Malfoy really going to take action against Dumbledore? When?"
Pansy Parkinson raised her hand and patted Zabini on the back of the head. "There are only four of us here. Don't act like a thief."
Then the girl turned to look at Della: "It's so sudden, are you sure, Mr. Malfoy?"
Draco, who accidentally let the secret slip, looked at Charles for help.
What should he do? In this situation, should he explain the situation clearly? The Parkinsons are also school directors, so it shouldn't be a problem to tell Pansy, right?
Ciel turned his head decisively and looked out the window. Anyway, he wasn't the one who let the cat out of the bag. The snow-covered Hogwarts Castle looked very charming from afar...
All the Christmas decorations in the castle had been replaced, and the dinner to welcome the students back to school was not very impressive. It was not until he was on his way back to the dormitory that Charles remembered Sebastian's existence.
"Draco, do you mind if I keep a pet in the dormitory?" Ciel asked.
"Did you get a new pet? What is it? Why didn't I notice it when I was on the train?" Draco thought for a moment; he didn't remember Ciel having a cage in his luggage.
"It's a crow. His presence isn't very strong."
Sebastian ran all the way to Hogwarts by train, how could you have seen him on the train?
"Crow?" Draco frowned. Crows, a black bird, were not to Malfoy's liking. Malfoys preferred gorgeous, golden things. "Why would you like that kind of bird? How about I give you a golden eagle?"
"Maybe it's because crows are smart?" Charles said as he opened the door and pointed at the crow standing on his desk. "Don't worry, he will be very quiet."
"Well, if you can promise it won't make a mess of the house." Draco leaned over to take a look at the crow, "But why are its eyes red?"
Draco shuddered violently when he was stared at by these eyes.
"I don't know, is it natural?"
"Then what's its name?"
"Sebastian," Ciel stretched out his index finger and gently rubbed the crow's head: "His name is Sebastian."
Charles did not lie, this crow was indeed very quiet, so quiet that if Draco did not look for it deliberately, he would not be able to detect its existence most of the time. But as soon as Charles entered the door, this crow would appear and follow him closely.
......
"That's really too much, sir." Sebastian complained halfheartedly.
Today was the day of the Quidditch match, and most of the students, including Draco, had gone to the stadium, so at this moment Sebastian appeared in human form in front of Ciel in the dormitory.
"What's excessive about that?" Charles asked without raising his head as he sat on the bed and flipped through the documents in his hand.
"I've been made a crow all this time."
"Didn't you say that a qualified butler must always be by the master's side?" Charles retorted with the words he had used to deal with him before.
"But that attitude cannot provide the service that Master can provide."
Doing nothing all day and watching the young master become self-reliant is totally inconsistent with his aesthetics!
"Aren't you the one who helps me change my clothes every day?" Because this Charles had to get up earlier than Draco every morning.
"You collected the information, and you sent out my orders anyway. What else do you want to do?"
Ciel didn't understand. Apart from the fact that he attended classes, this devil also did a lot of other things!
Sebastian knelt on one knee in front of Ciel, let the boy's thin feet step on his knee, then picked up the boots on the ground. Just as he was about to speak, the door of the room was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
