The Charles Becomes a Wizard

Chapter 84 The incident happened

Before the panic spread among the little animals, Dumbledore easily resolved it with a slightly playful wink.

After sending the small animals away, the medical wing, which had finally returned to peace, soon welcomed a new batch of guests.

Following closely behind the healer sent by St. Mungo's came Fudge, the current Minister of Magic, several Aurors, and the arrogant Lucius Malfoy.

Sure enough, it came.

Dumbledore's eyes darkened, he sighed deeply in his heart, then stood up and went to greet him.

"Fudge, why are you here?" Dumbledore asked knowingly.

"Mr. Dumbledore, I heard that a Muggle student was injured at Hogwarts." Fudge nodded calmly at Dumbledore and turned his gaze to the student on the bed. "So I wanted to ask and see what the situation is."

"I think you should know what a numb child injured in Hogwarts means to the current wizarding world."

No one knows how long he has been waiting for this opportunity!

As a puppet minister chosen by both the White Lord and the nobles and pushed to power, Fudge's ambitions are actually no less.

He desperately hoped that he could truly grasp the power in his hands, rather than having to depend on others for anything he did.

The White Wizard's deeds are too glorious, and his radiance is too dazzling. He is like the stabilizing force of the British wizarding world. Almost everyone believes that as long as he is there, the wizarding world will not be turbulent again.

Everyone only saw how brave and fearless the Order of the Phoenix led by Dumbledore was, but no one noticed that the Aurors under his command also suffered heavy casualties in order to win that war.

Dumbledore's outstanding achievements made him, the Minister of Magic, look dim. Obviously, the man who must not even be named has completely disappeared, and obviously he should be the most powerful person in the British wizarding world!

Since Dumbledore has completed his mission, why can't he just stay at Hogwarts and be his headmaster?

Fudge was not ungrateful to Dumbledore in the past. After all, Dumbledore contributed to his promotion to the position. However, this gratitude had been completely worn away by Dumbledore's repeated meddling in the Ministry of Magic over the years.

This time he finally got hold of such a big handle on Dumbledore, so of course he couldn't give up.

"It's just a little joke between friends, no one will take it seriously." Dumbledore stroked his beard. "And Fudge, I'm afraid you heard it wrong. The person who was injured and needed to go to St. Mungo's for treatment was a half-blood."

Hearing his words, the muscles on Fudge's face twitched unnaturally.

"I don't know, what is Mr. Malfoy here for?" Dumbledore didn't take Fudge, who he thought was not very smart, seriously. He turned to look at Lucius.

"Mr. Dumbledore, I thought Hogwarts was the safest place." Lucius said in a gorgeous aria: "I think you can understand the worries in the hearts of parents after hearing about this kind of thing happening in the school?"

"Of course." Dumbledore laughed and did not say whether he believed Lucius's words or not.

"Albus!" Madam Pomfrey suddenly exclaimed when the air in the room was almost condensed into substance.

"Madam Pomfrey, what happened?" Dumbledore asked.

Madam Pomfrey looked at Fudge and Lucius and opened her mouth, as if she was weighing whether to say next.

"What happened?" Fudge asked anxiously. "If necessary, the Ministry of Magic will arrange for a healer from St. Mungo's to come as soon as possible."

Madam Pomfrey gently touched the forehead of the girl whose eyes were closed and whose body was twitching on the bed. "I think she is cursed."

"In fact," a deep voice suddenly sounded, "I have checked her personal belongings and found nothing that might carry a curse."

Snape pushed the door open and walked in.

"Severus," Madam Pomfrey frowned, "I can't think of any other possibility except the curse..."

"No, there is another possibility." Snape's dark eyes swept across Dumbledore's face, which suddenly turned cold. He raised his wand and cast a detection spell on the girl on the bed.

"How could this be!" Madam Pomfrey covered her mouth in disbelief as she looked at the light emitted by the spell.

"Now, who can tell me what happened?" Fudge raised his hand and scratched his hair in annoyance.

"Her soul is damaged," Madam Pomfrey stammered.

"How is this possible!" Fudge shouted. In the wizarding world, all magics targeting the soul are the most advanced black magic. How could someone with such ability attack a seemingly ordinary punk?

Fudge, who had come to pick a fight with Dumbledore at first, could no longer sit still. "Dumbledore, this matter must be thoroughly investigated!"

Lucius's expression remained unchanged, but his fingers hidden under his robe were tightly gripping the snake staff in his hand.

"Mr. Snape, can you tell me why you thought of detecting the soul?" Fudge turned around twice and suddenly turned the gun towards Snape.

Why? Snape looked at the silent and indifferent old man.

Because originally Dumbledore wanted to give the book to the child through him.

But he didn't expect that after he clearly expressed his refusal, the other party still didn't give up the idea, which led to the current situation...

However, considering that Harry still needed Dumbledore's protection, it was impossible for him to say such words directly.

Snape lowered his eyelids. "Perhaps someone else is better suited to answer this question than I am. Am I right, Mr. Longbottom?"

Neville Longbottom, who was lying on the hospital bed pretending to be asleep, suddenly shuddered. He did not dare to delay and carefully propped himself up. Facing the gazes of the adult wizards, he whispered, "Yes, Professor Snape! I, I mean, that..."

"There's a rumor going around lately. I heard that there's a book on the fourth row of the restricted books section. The book contains a magic trick that can make people immortal..."
