Blending of Planes: I am leisurely farming
Chapter 54 People who buy on credit
At this time, more and more people came to the bar. Under the dim light, guests of all kinds began to fill the space. The sounds of conversation, laughter and the clinking of glasses were intertwined, creating a lively feeling that was different from the deserted Pelican Town outside.
Emily was busy dealing with the guests' orders, while Gus was running between the kitchen and the front of the hall, serving delicious dishes to the diners.
At this time, Sean had already finished the healthy salad on his plate and was observing the situation around him with interest.
"Gus, another drink!" Pam, who had been drinking alone in the corner, shouted at the front desk. Her tone was mumbling and complaining.
With a "bang", the empty wine glass that was held high hit the wooden table hard, causing the porcelain bowl next to it to crackle.
"What a rude woman, an old drunkard." Sean thought to himself, she is still the same after so many years, with a very bad and irritable temper. It is really not easy for Penny to have such a mother. Sean's love for Penny grows deeper and deeper.
"Emily, give me a plate of orange chicken!" Sean found that his healthy salad did not fill his stomach. He admired Claire more and more how she could sustain her body energy for a day by eating only these things. So he waved to Emily who was serving food to the front table.
Yes, Emily, one of the two sisters, usually works as a waitress at the Star Bar.
At this moment, Emily was wearing a white apron with lace and had short blue hair. She looked very capable, which was completely different from her usual elegant and see-through look. She had a unique look.
It would be even better if she had a pair of cat ears, Sean thought as he watched Emily busying around.
"Hello, Sean! Would you like an order of orange chicken?" After serving the dishes, Emily held the plate between her arms, took out the menu, paper and pen from the front pocket of her apron, and asked while standing next to Sean.
After a series of busy work, the blue hair stuck to the delicate face because of sweat, and a faint jasmine fragrance was emitted due to sweating, which was very pleasant.
"Yes." Sean nodded and confirmed quickly, "You can get busy." Looking at the busy Emily, Sean skipped the greeting.
Emily turned around on the spot, her skirt swaying slightly, and a breeze carrying a fragrance blew towards her.
I think I know part of the reason why the pub business is so good. Sean smiled as if he had discovered a secret.
Soon, the orange chicken was served to Sean's table. The golden chicken skin was drizzled with orange sauce, exuding an enticing aroma.
Take out a fork and tear open the golden skin. The cool oil will come out, and a rich hot steam mixed with the aroma will hit your nose, making you salivate.
"Gus, why haven't the drinks been served yet? Where's Emily?" Suddenly a violent roar broke the lively atmosphere of the pub, and the whole pub fell silent.
It turned out that Pam, who had been waiting for beer for a long time but it never came, finally couldn't control her temper and began to complain loudly.
After doing all this, she took the last glass of wine beside her and drank it by herself, completely ignoring the situation around her.
All eyes in the store were focused on the middle-aged woman who was drinking alone in the corner.
As the silence caused by the diners' surprise ended, people began to whisper to each other, and the subject of their discussion was undoubtedly the hot-tempered Pam.
"What's going on, Emily?" Sean secretly pulled Emily aside and asked.
"It's not a big deal, Sean." Emily leaned over and whispered to Sean. The hair on her white ears was clearly visible, and her beautiful nose shrank as she spoke.
"As you know, the material suppliers have recently increased their prices. Gus calculated last month's bills and the situation is not ideal." Emily paused.
"And Pam hasn't paid for the wine she's been buying on credit for weeks. Gus is a kind-hearted man, but because of their long-time friendship, he's embarrassed to bring up the matter in person, for fear of embarrassing Pam. But it's difficult for Gus to keep letting her buy on credit..." Emily said with some indignation.
"So?" Sean made a timely comment.
"So Gus didn't want to refill her drink today after he served her the drink, as a reminder that she should pay him back."
So that's the situation. It seems that she is not only an old drunkard but also a deadbeat. Sean's bad impression of Pam deepened.
"But looking at the situation, it seems that she doesn't realize this. Is it really okay to go on like this?" Sean said to Emily while looking at Pam, who was almost unable to control her anger in the corner because the wine had not come yet.
"There is a solution for everything." Emily smiled playfully and said something that made Sean confused, "I'm going to get busy."
"Forget it, since the parties involved are not in a hurry, why should I be in a hurry? Let's just watch the fun." Sean was ready to be a spectator and wait for the show to begin.
"Gus, did you hear that? I want to see what you are doing!" Pam, who had already finished the wine in the two glasses in front of her, couldn't stand the thirst without wine, so she stood up and staggered towards the kitchen where Gus was.
Behind her was a group of curious onlookers. They were used to Pam's bad temper and were just curious about what funny trouble she would cause.
Emily was still sitting in the front hall with a calm expression on her face, not worried at all about what was going to happen in the kitchen.
Suddenly Sean thought of something, stood up, greeted Emily, and walked into the kitchen under the curious gazes of the diners.
"Gus! Are you looking down on me, your old friend? Why is it that other people's dishes have been served, but my wine is still not coming? Tell me, what's going on?"
As soon as Sean entered, he heard Pam questioning Gus in her loud voice with a stuttering voice.
Gus was cooking with a conflicted look on his face. The words came to his lips but he swallowed them back because he really couldn't open his mouth.
"Since Gus doesn't want to say it, I'll be the bad guy," Sean said. "Pam, you should pay Gus back for the wine he's been drinking for a few weeks. Gus doesn't want to say it so bluntly just to save your face, but I don't have that concern."
"Young man! It's not your turn to talk about my affairs!" Pam shouted at Sean in a bad tone, as if she had been humiliated by him.
Old woman, you deserve to be abandoned by men with your temper. Sean muttered to himself, but didn't argue with her.
Pam paced in the kitchen angrily, and seemed to have figured something out: "Well, young man, you're right. I'd better pay the bill."
She walked over to Gus and settled the bill with him.
Feeling that she had lost face, she lost interest in drinking and staggered out of the pub alone.
Our Sean pulled Gus aside to discuss a plan, a plan he had just thought of, and which was also the reason why he came in to participate in this matter.
