Blending of Planes: I am leisurely farming

Chapter 83: Exploration of Abandoned Houses

The next evening, two handsome men and beautiful women were walking together on the streets of Pelican Town.

"Sean, what is it that you said you wanted to show me?" Haley asked impatiently on the way. "Do we have to wait until after get off work to call Claire to come along? Is it something about the photography team?"

"Haley, be patient. It's a surprise, so of course we need to keep it a little mysterious." Sean replied with a smile and gently held Haley's hand and squeezed it.

Then, with her pretending to be angry, Sean flirted and ran away.

The two of them playfully crossed the Ripple River and sat under a parasol by the river waiting for Claire.

This parasol-shaded area is an ice cream stand where Alex sells his homemade ice cream in the summer.

Now, because it is the wrong season, there is only a bench lying there under a parasol for passers-by to rest.

The two of them sat on each side of the bench. Sean wanted to sit closer, but Haley glared back at him as if she didn't know him.

But just as Sean pretended to accept his fate and sighed against the armrest of the bench, Haley moved her butt over and sat down quietly, with her soft thighs pressed against Sean.

Not long after, Claire came over after get off work.

She was wearing Joja's work clothes, and the sunlight shone on her orange-red hair, making it sparkle charmingly.

When she saw Sean and Hailey, she smiled brightly and walked quickly over to them.

"Have you two been waiting for a long time?" Claire said apologetically.

"It's okay, we just arrived too." Sean responded.

"Claire, come here!" Haley stood up and put her arms around Claire's waist, then sat down with her in her arms.

It seems that after Claire stayed overnight at Haley's house, the relationship between the two girls became even closer.

The three of them huddled together on this wooden bench that could seat two people.

Since Haley is a rich girl and Claire doesn't live in Pelican Town, the two girls didn't pay much attention to Joja's land acquisition plan.

"Okay, Sean, why did you gather us together so mysteriously?" Haley remembered the business.

Sean looked at the two girls with a mysterious smile on his face. "Actually, I asked you to come here because I want to take you to explore a special place."

"Adventure?" Haley and Claire asked in unison, with curious expressions on their faces.

"Yes, it's an adventure." Sean nodded. "I got the key to the abandoned community activity center from the mayor. I think we can go explore it together. It can be regarded as the second team building."

Sean pulled the bunch of old, scratched brass keys from his pocket.

Haley and Claire's eyes lit up when they heard the proposal.

Haley asked excitedly, "Really? What's in there? When I came to Pelican Town in the past few years, this community center has been abandoned."

The community center on the uphill north side of Pelican Town was originally a dormitory living area and activity center for coal miners decades ago. Since the closure of Zhenxin Mining and the departure of workers who gathered from all over the place, this complex of buildings has been abandoned.

Later, the town stepped in to provide funding for the renovation of several of the buildings, turning them into community centers to provide residents with daily entertainment activities.

As we all know, due to lack of funds, these renovated community centers were abandoned again, along with the previous buildings.

Nobody cares.

But now all of these have been taken advantage of by Sean. This bunch of keys means the right to use these six or seven buildings and the land attached to them.

"What will it be? I don't know, but we can explore it together and uncover its mystery." Sean smiled and shook the brass keys in his hand. Each key represents an abandoned building and a piece of dusty history.

“Also, this abandoned community center is now under my management, so we can explore it freely.”

Claire looked at Sean with a surprised expression on her face, "Sean, how did you get these keys?"

"Haha, that's a long story, let's talk while we walk." Sean stood up and patted the dust off his body. "Let's go and explore these buildings together."

On the way, Sean chose to tell the two girls about his conversation with Mayor Lewis.

He skipped over the Joja Group's affairs, and also glossed over the promotion of fertilizer formulas. The focus of the story was on how he "painted the pie" to promote Pelican Town to Lewis, and this community center was the office location he asked Lewis for.

"The community center will be the office of our team in the future, if we can restore these abandoned buildings." Sean emphasized at the end.

"It would be great if we could renovate and reuse these abandoned buildings!" Haley was excited when she heard this.

"Sean! I'm going to book a big room to display my clothes. Emily always complains that I have too many clothes and they take up the public space in the house."

Hailey was obviously immersed in the beautiful fantasy of raising a family in a game, and didn't pay attention to the second half of Sean's words.

Claire was a little worried, as she knew clearly how difficult it would be to rebuild these buildings.

"It's okay, you have to eat step by step, take your time." Sean comforted Claire but did not burst Haley's fantasy.

Climbing up the hill from Pierre's grocery store and passing a barren lawn, a group of dilapidated wooden or brick buildings came into view. This was the center of the community.

There are four dormitory buildings, one in each row on the left and right, surrounding two brick and tile buildings in front and behind that are similar to church shapes.

"This is the location for this adventure." Sean made his decision by choosing the building in the front middle that looked the best preserved.

This is a brick and tile structure building that has experienced countless winds and rains. Due to long-term wind and rain, some stones have cracked and fallen off, and the color of the wall has become different shades.

Green vines and overgrown weeds sprouted from the cracks in the corners of the wall, climbing along the wall, almost covering the entire building.

The huge clock at the top of the building has gone through many vicissitudes of life, but it still stands, and the "tick-tock~" sound records the vicissitudes of time.

Sean walked to the door of the building and selected the corresponding key. The two girls stood behind him, looking at the quaint wooden door.

The key was inserted into the lock and twisted gently. With a "click", the door lock was unlocked. Sean pushed the door open, and a stale smell came to his face, mixed with the smell of mold and dust.

"Let's go in," Sean said, and walked into the building first, followed by Haley and Claire.

The interior of the building was dark and empty, with only a few rays of sunset shining through the broken windows, creating mottled light and shadows.

Thick dust accumulated in the corners, some discarded furniture was scattered everywhere, the wooden floors and walls looked a bit worn, and the wooden boards in some areas had even warped or cracked.

Accompanied by the ticking of the clock outside, there was an illusion of time travel, as if they had stepped into another forgotten era.

"It seems like no one has been here for a long time." Claire sighed, her voice echoing in the empty room.

Sean nodded and looked around, "Yes, but this also means that we have enough space to build our office." Sean turned over a broken wooden board completely, and the accumulated dust immediately flew all over the sky.

Haley had already started imagining how to decorate this place. She walked around the entire hall and thought about her plan: "A long table can be put here. We can hold meetings here to discuss the photography team's plans and projects." She pointed to the center of the hall.

Then she walked to a corner and said, "We can set up a corner for costumes and props here, which will be convenient for us to prepare for each shoot."

Sean responded and continued walking inside.

Inside you can see different rooms and corridors, which lead to different functional areas.

Some areas are recognizable as libraries, with empty shelves that were once filled with books. Some areas are supposed to be activity rooms, but now there are only a few worn-out tables, some scattered chairs, and dusty sponge mats that break easily when squeezed.

There are some faded photos hanging on the walls, carrying the emotions and years of people at that time.

What is most worrying is that in the corner of the front hall there is an arched pet living area that is similar to a mouse hole and does not match the indoor environment.

"Who!" Sean suddenly seemed to have noticed something and rushed towards the "rat hole".

The sudden action startled Haley and Claire who were standing beside them: "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, maybe I'm too sensitive." Sean used his ability to investigate, but found nothing, so he shook his head at the two women.

"You scared me to death!" Haley punched Sean angrily.
