Chapter 26 Potions Class
Professor Snape returned to the podium, and Harry sat down silently. Professor Snape said, "The powder of daffodil bulbs mixed with wormwood extract will form a powerful sleeping pill, also known as the water of life and death; bezoar can only be produced in the stomach of a cow; aconite and aconite grass are the same plant. Mr. Potter, even if you say there is no difference between the two, I will give Gryffindor one point. Don't just stand there, write down what I said in your notes."
In the following class time, Aris felt that Harry was about to be depressed by Professor Snape, who always targeted Harry intentionally or unintentionally.
During the second practical class, Neville got the order of putting the ingredients in the wrong place when brewing the potion, and the whole crucible exploded. Aeris quickly waved his wand to stop the splashing scalding liquid, and he and Hermione survived. The others around them were not so lucky.
Harry and Ron's robes were burned with holes of varying sizes, and Neville was even more miserable. Not only were his arms and face burned, but he also had a dense rash.
Neville was wailing from the burns. Professor Snape walked over slowly, looked at the destroyed cauldron and the mess on the ground, and said, "What an idiot! There are only a few ingredients and you got the order wrong. I guess you didn't stir them thoroughly before putting in the boar tusks? You... send Mr. Longbottom to the hospital!" Professor Snape pointed at a Gryffindor student and gave the order.
Neville left the classroom sobbing. Professor Snape waved his wand casually, and the exploded crucible and the discarded potion disappeared. He looked at Harry with ill intentions and said slowly, "Mr. Potter, you were right next to Mr. Longbottom. Why didn't you remind him when he put the materials in the wrong place? Do you think you are excellent when your classmates make mistakes? Deduct another five points from Gryffindor!"
Aris saw that Harry was unconvinced and wanted to explain something, but Ron stopped him. After Professor Snape left, Ron comforted Harry again.
After the two potions classes, Professor Snape sent a message to everyone: I am biased! When the get out of class was about to end, Airis and Hermione had the highest completion rate of the potion in the class. Professor Snape just wrinkled his nose and said nothing. On the other hand, Draco's operation process when brewing the potion alone added more than 20 points to Slytherin.
At noon, when Harry was having lunch in the restaurant, he seemed unhappy. Ron comforted him: "Don't be like this, Harry. Snape has deducted points from every house except Slytherin. He always finds one reason or another to deduct points from Fred and George."
Harry said in a dry voice: "But I feel that he doesn't just hate me, he hates me..."
As he spread jam on his bread, Aries said, "Professor Snape doesn't hate you. To be exact, he hates someone else, and he treats you as a substitute for that person."
"Why do you know?" Hermione came over and asked with interest. Harry and Ron also looked at Aris in confusion.
Aris said mysteriously, "Mr. Potter, what magical results will occur if I add the powder of narcissus bulbs to the wormwood infusion?"
Harry and Ron looked even more puzzled, but Hermione seemed to be thinking about something. Aris continued, "Do you think this is just a simple question? Based on the daffodils, bulbs, powder, wormwood, and infusion, let us boldly imagine what Professor Snape wanted to express: I regret and am heartbroken over Lily's death!"
"Who's Lily?" Ron asked puzzledly.
Harry's face looked ugly, and he said bitterly: "My dead mother's name was Lily."
Hermione looked at Harry in surprise. Aeris said thoughtfully, "So I can roughly assume that when they were students, Professor Snape and your father both liked your mother, but your mother finally chose your father. You can imagine how much Professor Snape hated your father, so he took his anger out on you."
"One more thing," Aris continued, "Your eyes must be very similar to your mother's, right?" Seeing Harry nod, Aris continued, "Didn't you notice, Harry! Professor Snape didn't look at you during the Potions class. He just stared into your eyes."
Aris's "long talk" silenced the other people. No one spoke during the rest of the lunch.
