Became good friends with the Boy Who Lived
Chapter 40: Second Quidditch Match
Hermione came back the day before school started. When Harry and Ron told her vividly about their experiences at school during the holidays, Hermione criticized Harry's recklessness and Aris's indulgence with great dissatisfaction.
"You're going to get yourself into trouble," Hermione said to Harry, then accused Aris, "I thought you were going to keep an eye on them both, Aris."
Aeris laughed and said jokingly, "Ms. Know-it-all, why do you think they will listen to me? I'm just a friend, not a professor or a prefect."
The study of various subjects after Christmas was obviously more arduous than before, and Harry seemed even more overwhelmed. In addition to dealing with his studies, he also had Quidditch training, and their next opponent was the Hufflepuff team.
The good news is that the Hufflepuff team is very sportsmanlike, and the philosophy they have always adhered to is: friendship first, competition second. The bad news is that the referee of this game is: Professor Snape.
When Wood told everyone the news, Fred fell off his broom and Harry also looked sad.
Pride and Prejudice can really ruin the impression of a person in one's heart. No matter how Aris persuaded Harry not to worry about Professor Snape harming him, Harry just wouldn't listen.
The increasing amount of homework made it impossible for Aris to always watch Harry's training. That evening, when Harry and Ron went to the training ground, Aris went to the library to look up information while completing his homework.
When Aeris put down the last stroke on his parchment, he put the quill aside and rubbed his temple tiredly. There was a noise at the door of the library.
Aeris walked over curiously and saw Neville jumping around with his legs stuck together, while Draco, Crabbe and Goyle were laughing beside him.
Aeris took out his wand, waved it casually at Neville and whispered, "Stop the curse!" Neville, who was hit by the leg-locking curse, was able to move freely immediately.
Neville looked at Aeris gratefully and hid behind him. Aeris said nothing, just staring at Draco and the other three.
Draco said sternly, "Grindelwald, don't meddle in my affairs."
Aeris was so angry that he sneered: "Draigo, how shameless do you have to be to say such a thing? Do you feel so accomplished when you bully your classmates?"
Draco's usually pale face turned red at this moment. He said, "I learned a new magic, and I always have to find someone to test it out..." There was a sense of unconvinced in his tone.
"Oh! What a coincidence!" Aeris said in a teasing tone, "I combined the Fire Spell and the Armor Spell to derive a spell. I was just looking for someone to test it out!"
Aeris raised his wand above his head and waved it twice, muttering to himself, "Fire Armor!"
A large area of dense blood-red sparks fell down, covering Aeris and Neville like two veils. The sparks condensed into flames, and the flames turned into armor worn by Aeris and Neville. The heat waves emitted by the two flame armors forced the students who were watching the excitement to retreat several steps, but Aeris and Neville did not feel the slightest heat. Draco turned around and ran away with Crabbe and Goyle without saying a word.
The librarian, Mrs. Pince, rushed out with a feather duster and screamed, "Are you going to burn down the library?" In the distance, Mr. Filch also ran over panting.
Aeris quickly took off his flaming armor and said to Neville, "Run! Neville, go back to the common room and don't worry about me!" After that, Aeris cast an Disillusionment Spell and used magic to hide his breath. To the people around him, Aeris seemed to have disappeared out of thin air.
After seeing Neville running away, Aries waited for the people around him to disperse, then quietly returned to the library, packed up his things, and left quietly.
On the day of Harry's second Quidditch match, Harry seemed relieved to see Professor Dumbledore also coming to watch the game. He had been worried that Professor Snape would find an opportunity to kill him during the game and disguise it as an accident.
The Seeker for the Hufflepuff team was a handsome boy, Cedric Diggory, a third-year student. Aris had heard many rumors about him, all of which said that Cedric was the best student in that year's Hufflepuff class.
This game became Harry's personal show. Harry's Nimbus Two Thousand performed much better than Cedric's broom. Professor Snape was also doing his best to favor Hufflepuff and suppress Gryffindor. If there was any house that could be a strong rival for Slytherin to win the House Cup, it would definitely be Gryffindor, not Hufflepuff. The team that won the Quidditch game would get extra points for its own house.
But Harry didn't give Professor Snape too much time. Just five minutes into the game, Harry held the captured Golden Snitch high above his head.
At the end of the game, Aeris discovered that Ron and Neville had a fight with Draco and the other two. Ron punched Draco so hard that his nose was bleeding, while Neville knocked down Crabbe and Goyle by himself, and was finally knocked unconscious by Crabbe and Goyle and admitted to the school hospital.
Although Ron was injured, he seemed very excited and kept chattering about something with the classmates around him.
Harry was thrown into the air by the crowd like a hero, caught, and thrown again...
An hour later, Harry was able to get away and go to the Gryffindor dressing room to change out of his uniform and put his broom back in the broom shed.
Aris chatted with Hermione and the others for a long time, but Harry didn't come back. Ron couldn't help complaining, "Has Harry's uniform grown on him? Why hasn't he come back yet?"
They waited for Harry at the edge of the corridor where they could see the broom shed. It was almost dark when they saw Harry running up to them, breathless.
"Where the hell have you been?" Hermione asked in a shrill voice. Harry gasped and said, "Let's...let's...find an...empty classroom...I seem...seem...to know...know...something...terrible..."
Without further ado, Harry took the few people to a remote empty classroom, closed the door, and carefully checked the surroundings to make sure that there was no Peeves and that other ghosts would not pass by inadvertently. Then he told the rest of his companions about his tracking of Professor Snape and the secret conversation between Professor Quirrell and Professor Snape.
"Ares's guess is correct," Harry concluded. "Fluvia is protecting the Philosopher's Stone. Snape wants to get the Philosopher's Stone, but he can't do it alone, so he forces Quirrell to help him."
Aeris said dimly, "Is there a possibility that Professor Quirrell wanted to get the Philosopher's Stone, and Professor Snape found out about it. Whether it was intimidation or threat to Professor Quirrell, it was all to better protect the Philosopher's Stone."
Ron looked at Aris in astonishment and asked in confusion, "Why is it that your train of thought has never been in line with ours?"
"You hate Professor Snape and think that everything he does is bad," said Aris. "It's possible that he was the referee this time just to better protect Harry. You think that the timid Professor Quirrell is innocent. After something happens, you think that Professor Quirrell must be the victim. But I can feel that Professor Quirrell's malice towards me is almost becoming reality. Haven't you noticed? After the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, I must be the first one to run out of the classroom. In the corridor, if I occasionally meet Professor Quirrell, I will definitely try to stay away from him. I don't even dare to say a word to Professor Quirrell. I can feel that under Professor Quirrell's harmless appearance, there is a devilish face hidden."
After hearing what Aries said, the others looked at him with eyes that showed concern for the patient, which made Aries feel helpless.
