Became good friends with the Boy Who Lived

Chapter 86 The truth three years ago

Aris, Harry, and Hermione supported each other in the tree hole and stumbled deeper into it. Not long after, they entered a room through a dilapidated wall.

The room was shabby and showed signs of someone having lived there, but it seemed like no one had taken care of it for a long time. The few people ignored the rotten furniture around and walked towards a door inside, which might be the bedroom.

"Ah, open!" Hermione pointed her wand at the door lock and whispered softly. The door opened automatically and Crookshanks went in immediately. Harry walked in carefully, followed by Hermione, and Aries followed closely behind.

This was a large room, indeed a bedroom, with a luxurious four-poster bed inside. The curtains were covered in dust. Ron leaned against the corner of the bed, groaning in pain. The corners of his trouser legs were stained with blood, but he still held the big rat in his hand and did not let it run away.

Crookshanks leisurely jumped onto the four-poster bed and began to slowly groom his hair.

Seeing several companions walking into the room, Ron shouted: "Don't come in! Run! Get out of here! That big dog is an Animagus, he's hiding behind the door."

Aeris, who was at the back, turned his head and saw the door closed. A skinny man, like a skeleton, stood in the shadows. He was wearing a tattered robe of unidentifiable color, like a large sack.

He approached slowly with a crazy smile on his face. From his weathered face, it could be seen that he was once a very handsome man.

"Sirius Black!?" Harry asked through gritted teeth.

"Harry James Potter!" Sirius said hoarsely, as if he had not spoken for a long time. "Merlin, you look so much like your father, and your eyes are like your mother. You are both very brave. If I were in danger, James would also do everything for me..."

"Shut up!" Harry yelled, "Don't mention my father. How dare you? How dare you mention my father in front of me?"

"Hehehe..." Sirius laughed crazily, "Your father's death is indeed closely related to me. When I finish my work, I will go down to atone for my sins!"

"If you want to kill Harry," said Ron with difficulty, "you'll have to step over my dead body first."

"No..." said Sirius, "Only one person will die today..."

"That's you..." Harry rushed towards Sirius regardless of anything. Sirius didn't resist at all and was knocked to the ground by Harry.

Harry pressed Sirius' chest with his legs and pointed his wand at his face. Sirius laughed shrilly: "Hahaha... Are you going to kill me? Harry James Potter..."

Harry pointed at Sirius's trembling wand, and Aris said, "Harry, don't be impulsive. I can feel that Mr. Black has no ill will towards you..."

The door was suddenly opened, "Ahem," Professor Lupin walked in and pointed his wand at Harry. Harry's wand flew up, and Eras was quick to grab Harry's wand.

Professor Lupin glanced at Aris and said to Harry, "Harry, step back. Adult matters should be left to adults to resolve."

Harry retreated among his companions. Aeris returned the wand to Harry, who pointed the wand at Professor Lupin and Sirius without slacking off.

Professor Lupin ignored Harry's actions and said to Sirius, "It's so pitiful, Padfoot. Did Azkaban drive you crazy?"

"Hahaha..." Sirius laughed crazily, "I always thought that you are the one who understands madness best among us, Moony Face..."

Professor Lupin stretched out his arm and helped Sirius up, and the two hugged each other like a pair of old friends who had met again after a long separation.

"I found him, I found him..." Sirius leaned on Professor Lupin's shoulder, sobbing softly.

Professor Lupin patted Sirius on the back and whispered softly: "I know... I know..."

"No... Professor..." Hermione screamed, "You are in cahoots with him? I can't believe it. I trusted you so much. I didn't even tell anyone that you were a werewolf..."

Sirius let go of Professor Lupin and looked at Hermione in surprise. Professor Lupin said gently: "When did you know that? Hermione!"

"When Professor Snape…asked for the werewolf paper," Hermione said.

"Snotlout?" said Sirius irritably. "He's here too?"

"He is the Potions professor," said Professor Lupin. "Hermione, you are definitely the smartest wizard of your age..."

"I'm not..." Hermione glanced at Aris and continued, "Otherwise I wouldn't be stupid enough to keep a secret for you."

"Stop whining," Sirius roared, "Let's kill him, Remus~"

"No, Sirius," Professor Lupin said patiently, "you need to wait a few more minutes..."

"I've waited..." Sirius growled, "Thirteen years... thirteen years... in Azkaban..."

"Very well..." said Professor Lupin, "We will kill him together, but Harry has the right to know the truth..."

"I know it's just like that..." Harry said loudly, "My parents asked Sirius to be their Secret Keeper, and Sirius betrayed my parents..."

"This is not true..." Sirius said in despair, "Everyone thought I was James's Secret Keeper, so that I could attract Voldemort's attention and protect the real Secret Keeper, but that coward betrayed James..."

"This is the truth, Harry," Professor Lupin said calmly, "Sirius even suspected me, and I was kept in the dark about this matter. I only figured it out recently..."

"Who is that person?" Harry asked anxiously, "Who betrayed my parents?"

"Peter Pettigrew..." Sirius roared, "He is in this room, Peter... Peter... don't be shy... come out and say hello to everyone..."

With a loud "boom", the door was blown to pieces, and countless ropes appeared out of nowhere, tying up Professor Lupin tightly and even blocking his mouth.

Sirius waved the wand he had snatched from Ron wildly, and the ropes that tied him turned into wisps of dust and flew in the air.

A sinister face appeared in everyone's sight, and Sirius laughed even more crazily: "Long time no see, Snotlout, I've always felt sorry for why James saved you that time..."

"I regret it, too, Padfoot," Professor Snape's emotionless voice sounded, "Why wasn't it me who put you in Azkaban? But this time I seem to be able to make up for my regret."

"Are you sure?" Sirius said frantically, "Have you ever beaten me in a duel?"

"I don't think I will lose to you now..." Before Professor Snape could finish his words, Harry suddenly raised his wand and pointed it at Professor Snape. "Fall to the ground!" Harry shouted. Professor Snape was caught off guard and was knocked away. He hit the wall outside and then lay beside the wall like a puddle of mud.

"Are you mad, Harry?" said Hermione in horror. "Do you know what you've done? You've attacked a professor..."

"Calm down, Hermione," said Aeris.

"How do you expect me to calm down?" Hermione collapsed.

"Quiet!" Harry yelled irritably, breathing heavily. "Where is he? Where on earth is he? Peter Pettigrew..."

"It's obvious, man," said Aeris. "That big rat is also an Animagus. He must be Peter Pettigrew."

The big rat in Ron's hand struggled violently. Sirius released Professor Lupin and helped him up. Professor Lupin picked up his wand.

"You shouldn't have done that, Harry!" said Sirius, but the look in his eyes meant: Well done!

"Ron, please hand over the mouse!" Professor Lupin walked up to Ron and said.

Ron hesitantly handed the big rat to Professor Lupin, but he was not paying attention and the rat broke free. After the rat fell to the ground, it ran around wildly.

"Stop!" Aeris shouted, pointing his wand at the rat.

The big rat seemed to be frozen in place. Sirius looked at Aeris in surprise, and then, together with Professor Lupin, used magic to break the Animagus.

The big rat was like an animal that grew up and then pressed the fast-forward button. In a short while, it turned into the short man.

Peter Pettigrew regained his ability to move. He glanced at everyone quickly, not daring to look anyone in the eye. Finally, his eyes fell on Sirius and Professor Lupin.

"Sirius? Remus? My old friend..." After saying that, he pretended to hug them, but he turned around and ran towards the door regardless of anything.

Sirius and Professor Lupin worked together to push Peter Pettigrew back, with two wands pointing directly at Peter's face. Peter looked terrified.

"Coward!" Sirius roared, "James, Lily, they trusted you so much, but you betrayed them. It feels good to be watched by the Death Eaters and not accepted by the rest of the people, right? Hmm? Worry about your soul, Peter. The eighteen levels of hell are specially prepared for traitors like you."

"I didn't mean it," Peter Pettigrew cried, his face covered with tears and snot. "I've never been as brave as you. That dark devil found me, threatened me, tortured me, and even wanted to kill me. If it were you, what would you choose?"

"Even if I die, I will never betray my good friend," Sirius roared, "When you blew up the entire street and killed those innocent Muggles, you should have thought that this day would come sooner or later."

"I've already lost a finger," Peter Pettigrew shouted in collapse, "I've suffered mental torture for more than ten years, and you can't forgive me..." Peter crawled to Sirius' feet and grabbed the hem of Sirius' robe with the hand that was missing a finger.

"Don't touch me," Sirius stepped back and avoided Peter, saying in disgust, "My robe is dirty enough already."

Peter Pettigrew crawled to Professor Lupin's feet again, "Remus... Remus... you are the one who takes the best care of me, please have mercy... please have mercy... I don't want to die..."

Professor Lupin took a step back, his eyes sad. He closed his eyes in pain and shook his head silently.

"Good girl...good girl..." Peter crawled to Hermione's feet again, and Hermione hid behind Aris in fear.

"My little master... My little master..." Peter crawled to Ron's feet, "You have always loved me the most. I am your favorite mouse..."

"If you're a better mouse than a human, there's nothing to brag about!" said Sirius viciously.

Ron limped to the side, and Peter Pettigrew crawled to Harry's feet. He choked and said, "Harry... Harry... James will not watch me being killed. He will forgive me. He will definitely forgive me..."

Before Peter Pettigrew could finish his words, he was pulled aside by Sirius and Professor Lupin. "Don't you even have the most basic shame?" Sirius said, "Stay away from Harry, you scum. When you were my friend, I would die for you, but the moment you betrayed me, we would fight to the death. Now I want to avenge my best friend. Do you want to join me, Remus?"

"I think so," said Professor Lupin bitterly. "On the count of three, cast Avada Kedavra!"

The two wands pointed directly at Peter Pettigrew, who screamed in pain and trembled all over.

Professor Lupin said calmly: "Ready...one...two..."

Harry stood in front of Peter Pettigrew. Facing the puzzled looks of Sirius and Professor Lupin, Harry said, "Don't kill him. He can prove Sirius' innocence. Let him spend the rest of his life in Azkaban."

"Thank you, my boy..." Peter Pettigrew grabbed Harry's arm and said excitedly, "You are as noble as your father..."

Harry shook Peter Pettigrew off in disgust, and Professor Lupin said, "Your decision is very merciful, Harry."

"He got away with it..." Sirius stared at Peter Pettigrew viciously.
