Crossing the Other World: My Warcraft System
Chapter 5 Highland News
Garin took out an exquisite package from his treasure chest. It was a gift from Solas to him, the legendary 16-grid bag, a magical item made by the mages of Dalaran, a spirit-patterned cloth bag.
Inside were Garin's belongings over the years, mainly the gold coins earned from the caravan, as well as the weapons and equipment he was used to. He brought all the gold coins with him, perhaps they would be useful when the base was built.
The next day, Varokal came to inform Garin that the caravan had assembled and was ready to set off at any time. At the gate of the castle, they saw Danas and his guards also ready to go out of the city with Garin.
After Garin arrived, Danas and Garin entered the castle together. After meeting Solas, they prepared to set off.
Garin was not planning to use the letter that Solas prepared for him. After all, going to Ironforge was just an excuse to go out. He planned to separate from the caravan before the Sardor Bridge and take only a few soldiers to take a look at the mountainous area of Stonefist Hall.
The team left the main gate of Stromgarde and walked on the Road of Calling for Bravery. Garin looked back at Stromgarde. The city walls stood tall, with a fortress every few dozen meters on the gray-white walls, looking majestic and ancient.
Garen still vaguely remembered that when he was playing the game, the Stromgarde in Arathi Highlands was only in ruins, with trolls and ogres running rampant, and it was a desolate scene.
No one could have imagined that this thousand-year-old country, which was still thriving, would decline in just a dozen years.
Jialin and his group walked out of the Road of Summoning Bravery and headed eastward.
This ancient road was built during the ancient Arathor Empire. It extends from Geshak Farm in the east to the Wall of Arathor in the west. It is the most important kingdom road in the Arathi Highlands.
Perhaps because the southwest is close to the ocean, Garin felt that the wind on the highlands was a bit cold since he left the city.
Along the way, they saw villages of all sizes scattered along the road, and even more vast grasslands. Groups of velociraptors were running and galloping on the grasslands. There was even a pack of wolves that tried to attack their team, and in the end the wolf skins became their trophies.
Fifteen days after they set out, Garin separated from Danas and his party. Danas was heading east to the Geshak Farm, while Garin wanted to head south.
On the third day after parting with Danas, Garin's caravan trudged along the winding road.
The head of the caravan, Harmon Kaven, came over and told Garin that there was a lake not far ahead, and the rest of the journey would basically be along the river to reach the Sardo Bridge.
"Your Highness, the source of this lake comes from the spring water in the Fadir Mountains. This spring flows down from the top of the mountain and continuously converges to form three spectacular waterfalls. We will reach the first waterfall tomorrow." Harmon Kaven was selected by Garin four years ago to serve as one of the caravan leaders. He has been taking the Ironforge trade route for a long time and is very familiar with the conditions on this road. Seeing that Garin was interested in the scenery on both sides, he introduced them to the prince.
Garin knew the river Harmon was talking about. He had seen it in the game. When he went north from the wetland and passed the Saldo Bridge, he could see a waterfall. Then the water from the waterfall continued to flow eastward and divided into two tributaries. To the north, it formed the lake in front of him, and to the south, it flowed into the strait.
Of course, the waterfall in the game map is just a small stream of water, far less spectacular than the waterfall that appeared in front of Garin. This endless stream of water poured down from the mountains, creating a huge momentum. Listening to the rumbling sound of the water falling beside his ears, Garin sighed that the game and the real world are indeed completely different.
When he got here, Garin already knew where he was. After opening the map in his hand to confirm it again, Garin called Harmon Kaven.
"Harmon, I'm going to go on an adventure alone with a few guards."
Harmon was surprised when he heard Garin's words, "Your Highness, aren't you going to follow us to Dun Morogh?"
In fact, the caravan's goods do not have to be traded until they reach Ironforge. After reaching the wetlands along the way, there will be large and small dwarf ranger strongholds. The caravan will trade some daily necessities and Highland specialties to them, and collect some wetland crocodile skins to sell back to Stromgarde.
Sometimes, if there are no specific goods, the caravan may have to return before reaching Ironforge. This time, Harmon thought that they were accompanied by a prince, and their destination would be Ironforge.
"My purpose is to go out for adventure and travel. Ironforge is not necessarily my destination. You guys continue to trade with the dwarves. I will stay here for a while. If nothing happens, we will go back to Stromgarde in a month."
Garin gave most of the guards to Harmon to protect them from the attacks of wild beasts in the wetlands. He only left Omar, Varokal and five soldiers.
Omar and Varokal were the same age, both in their twenties, one at the peak of level seven, the other at level eight. Omar was older and stronger than Varokal, and with these two, plus Garin, who was level seven, the team was stronger than the caravan, so Harmon agreed to give Garin most of the soldiers.
The eight of them rested under the waterfall for one night, and the next morning they headed east along the river. When they reached the end of the river, they saw the river split into two, one flowing north to the lake that Jialin and his team had seen before, and the other flowing south, falling off a high cliff and flowing along the canyon to the distance.
Jialin and his team simply made a raft, crossed the 100-meter river that ran from north to south, and reached the east bank. At this point, they were very close to Jialin's expected destination.
Garin chose this direction in order to avoid the deadwood trolls that might be encountered in the north. What he was going to do needed to be kept secret. Even later, when he established a base, he had to find a way to avoid Omar and Varokal.
To the east and south of this area are the Alterac Mountains that separate the coast, to the north is the border of the kingdom, and part of this area is also within the sphere of influence of the Witherbark trolls. To the west is a river with abundant water resources, where a large number of velociraptors and some giant spiders live. Occasionally, small hunting teams of trolls come here to hunt.
The kingdom's army is mainly concentrated on the Geshak Farm and the main roads along the route to protect the food supply line in the east, and generally will not travel so far away from the main road to such a distant mountainous area.
As long as you are careful about the troll hunting team, the confidentiality here is still good, which is in line with Garin's expectations. The most important thing now is to confirm whether the southernmost part of the mountain area can lead to the Sardor Strait, so Garin now leads his small adventure team to explore along the cliff to the south. Along the way, he hunted several highland velociraptors and killed a group of wild wolves. It can be seen that this area is far away from human habitation, and Garin is quite satisfied.
Finally, Jialin saw an open area ahead. There were no more towering mountains and dense forests, and the grassland also ended in front.
They reached the Sardo Strait.
Looking at the steep cliff, with the cliffs on both sides hundreds of meters apart, and a hidden slope covered with thorns on the east side leading to the bottom of the cliff, Garin breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing this, he has decided to summon the base of the Heart of Origin nearby.
