Crossing the Other World: My Warcraft System

Chapter 7 Functions of the Base

I tried to train a farmer, but was told that I didn't have enough gold.

Jialin remembered that the warehouse-like room next door should be used to store resources, so he went to the warehouse, took out a bag of gold coins from the spiritual pattern cloth bag and put it on the shelf.

The moment the purse was placed on the shelf, a flash of light appeared, and the bag shrank at a speed visible to the naked eye.

When Garin returned to the room and connected to the hall again, he found that the amount of gold in the resource column had increased from zero to one hundred.

It seems that the ratio of gold coins in the human world to gold in the base is one to two.

Garin immediately gave the order to train a farmer. A farmer's shadow was displayed on the host, and the completion time countdown was 59 minutes and 59 seconds. It takes an hour to train a farmer. I wonder how long it takes to train soldiers in the barracks?

While waiting, Garin put half of his gold coins into the warehouse. The farmer's introduction mentioned the skills of collecting gold and wood. In the future, the base's resources will mainly rely on the farmer to collect resources, so Garin imagined his behavior of putting gold coins into the warehouse as: recharge successful, gold + unit.

Looking at the 11 units of gold displayed in the resource column, Garin gave orders to continue producing farmers, directly filling up the production sequence.

During the difficult wait, a light flashed in the room, and a figure walked out of the core room. This was a middle-aged man over 180cm tall, with broad shoulders and a big waist, wearing linen overalls and a red shirt, with an axe and a pick hanging on each waist. His skin was slightly dark, with a thick brown beard on his chin, and he looked weather-beaten.

After the farmer came out, he saw Garin sitting in the hall and immediately saluted him: "Captain Cliff of the militia salutes you, Commander." Hearing his words, Garin was stunned, surprised that this farmer was so smart. He thought that the units trained in the base would be dull and mechanical, and would only perform rigid actions according to orders.

Garin walked around him and asked, "Cliff, can you introduce yourself?"

"Commander, I can mine, cut wood, build houses, do repairs, and do simple combat. My position is the militia captain, and I can also do simple military training. I will be in charge of the farmers who come later. Commander, please give the order."

"If I want you to go mining, do you know where there are any mineral deposits nearby?" Garin was very curious. In the game, there is a gold mine next to the base at the beginning, and the location of this base was chosen by him. He did not care about the nearby mineral deposits and just chose secrecy.

"Report to the commander, according to the scan of the base core, there are rich mineral veins in the mountains to the east of us. We can mine from our current position along the mountains to the north." Upon hearing this, Garin immediately connected to the core. Sure enough, he saw a circle of gold marks on the map, and the location seemed to be on the eastern line of the Alterac Mountains.

"The commander can remotely connect to the core to give us instructions, and upgrading the hall can expand the distance of the remote connection." Labor team leader Cliff then gave Garin another surprise.

Originally, Garin was still worried about how to get to the base after tonight, after all, he had only a few soundproofing enchantment scrolls. Without the soundproofing scrolls, he would have no way of sneaking out of the camp without alerting Omar and Varokal, who were stronger than him.

Now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. I can still see my camp at the edge of the map, so this distance should be enough for me to remotely connect to the core.

Looking at Cliff in front of him, Garin gave him the order to cut wood. Cliff immediately took out the axe from his waist and walked out of the hall.

Garin followed him out and glanced at the trees around the yard: "Cliff, when the other farmers arrive, clear all the trees within 500 meters around this hall." He planned to clear the area and make room for the construction of other buildings.

Close your eyes and check the buildings that can be built through the connection: Barracks, Lumberyard, Blacksmith Shop, Farm, Altar of Kings, Watchtower and Secret Vault. There is not enough wood at the moment to build the next building.

After waiting in the hall for three hours and constantly looking at the introductions of various buildings, three farmers appeared. Garin asked them to follow Cliff to cut wood and obey Cliff's command.

I looked at the resources needed for the barracks: 1600 units of gold, 600 units of wood. Gold can be recharged, but wood can only be collected by farmers.

There is no danger in this area except for the trolls, so the barracks can be used for a while. I looked at the data in the resource column: gold, wood 60. It just so happens that the sawmill does not need wood, so a sawmill can be built now. Garin chose to deploy a sawmill near the forest so that farmers don't have to spend time transporting trees back to the town hall after cutting them.

After giving Cliff the order to build a logging camp, Garin couldn't wait here any longer. He had been out for nearly five hours and had to go back immediately, otherwise when Omar and Varokal woke up in the morning, Garin would have a hard time explaining it. Garin didn't want the base to be exposed in advance.

Running all the way to the camp, Garin discovered that the remote connection command that Cliff mentioned was actually relying on the light ball in his mind. After the council hall was built, the light ball did not disappear, but was still in Garin's mind. The light ball in the hall could be understood as a subsystem of the light ball in his mind, a clone or something like that.

According to the map scanned from the base in his mind, Garin carefully avoided several groups of velociraptors and slowed down when approaching the camp.

After observing the camp from a distance, he had to return to his tent immediately, as they would be changing shifts soon. Once again, he took advantage of the gap when the two guards turned around, sneaked into the camp from the blind spot of their vision, and entered his own tent.

With a sigh of relief, Garin carefully disposed of the soundproofing array that he had previously placed on Omar and Varokal's tents, then lay down with peace of mind.

After working all night and running back and forth for dozens of kilometers, Jialin still didn't feel sleepy at all. Through the light ball in his mind, he connected to the picture of the base and found that there were 30 more units of wood.

It took him about an hour to get back to the camp from the base. Cliff was building a barracks, and the remaining three farmers were cutting down trees. The three people collected 30 units of wood in three hours, so the collection speed should be 10 units per person per hour.

Garin guessed that after the sawmill was built, it should be possible to research technology through the sawmill to speed up the speed at which farmers collect resources. He wondered how much it could increase after the research.

The hall provides twelve units of food. One farmer needs one unit of food. There are five farmers now, and seven more farmers can be trained. It will take seven hours to fill the twelve quotas.

Jialin planned to take a nap first, and then give the order to build the farm after waking up at dawn.
