HP Princess bravely enters Hogwarts

Chapter 17 Mirror of Erised (1)

As Christmas approaches, Hogwarts is covered with a layer of pure white snow, which looks particularly charming.

The Weasley brothers had a lot of fun in this kingdom of ice and snow. They injected magic into the snowballs, giving them the ability to track.

During one prank, the snowball hit Professor Quirrell squarely on the back of the head.

Although they were punished for this, it did not affect the cheerful festive atmosphere on campus.

In the Potions class, Draco Malfoy, with an arrogant attitude and a sneer on his face, sneered at Harry Potter: "I really feel sorry for some people."

His eyes swept across the classroom, as if to emphasize his implication, "They have no choice but to stay in Hogwarts during this cold Christmas. After all, which family would be willing to take in such orphans?"

Goyle and Crabbe also laughed along with his taunting. The laughter echoed in the corners of the classroom, sounding particularly harsh.

Harry Potter stood there, holding the potion bottle tightly in his hand, his eyes firm and unmoved.

His heart was filled with turbulence, for he knew that such ridicule was commonplace to him.

Ever since the Slytherin team was defeated in the last Quidditch match, Draco Malfoy's hostility towards Harry has grown like a vine, permeating every corner of his daily life.

The corners of his mouth, which usually wore a sarcastic smile, now bent downward more frequently, especially when Harry Potter's name was mentioned.

One day, at the long table in the academy, Draco waved his slender fingers ridiculously and put forward a bizarre idea:

"We should turn that guy into a big-mouthed tree frog, so that whenever we play, catching the Snitch will be a breeze."

However, no one except the three of them found this irony funny.

The rest of the pureblood clan thought the joke was boring, so Draco had to make the next best thing and laugh at Harry's family background.

But to Harry, none of this mattered.

He didn't care about the noise around him. He had only one thought in his mind: this Christmas, he could finally not spend it at his aunt's house like in previous years, enduring the cold gazes and depressing atmosphere.

He longed for some warmth and laughter during the holidays. Joyful scenes emerged in his mind, and his heart was filled with longing for the upcoming holiday.

What made him most happy was that Ron and his two brothers would not leave Hogwarts.

They might have gone away for a family reunion, but now, as their mother planned to go to Romania to visit Charlie Weasley, they would stay on campus.

Harry could almost foresee that this Christmas would be unique.

In his imagination, they would sit around the warm fireplace in Hogwarts, with laughter and conversation intertwined, forming an extremely warm picture.

"Okay, Draco, I think we should write a letter to our parents to let them know when we will be back." Cygnus smiled and walked forward, gently holding Draco's hand.

Draco snorted disdainfully at Harry Potter and left with Cygnus.

Harry's eyes followed Cygnus's retreating figure closely, and there was a hint of emotion in his voice: "Ron, you see, Cygnus has helped me a lot again."

Ron's face suddenly darkened, his brows furrowed, as if he could smell an unpleasant breath.

He waved his hand and retorted disdainfully: "Even so, Harry, it can't change her cunning nature. Don't forget, she almost attacked me!"

However, deep in Harry's heart, an inexplicable emotion quietly surged, and he suddenly felt that Cygnus should not be misunderstood like this.

"She's really not that kind of person." Harry was eager to defend himself, and his speech speed involuntarily accelerated. "To be honest, I've never seen her speak ill of anyone, even those Muggles." His eyes were firm, defending Cygnus.

Ron gave him a slight shrug, a silent sign of respect that showed he was willing to hear Harry's point of view.

"Ron Weasley, your prejudice should not be the yardstick by which Cygnus is judged."

Hermione, holding a heavy book in her arms, walked lightly among them, with a rare hint of indifference in her voice, which made Harry and Ron look at each other with a hint of surprise in their hearts.

Ron waved his arms in dissatisfaction, his face flushed, and there was a hint of anxiety in his tone of rebuttal:

"Which house are you from? You're protecting that little Malfoy so desperately. Is it because their house has closed its doors to you? Because you have Muggle blood in your body, they look down on you? Do you have to flatter that Malfoy?"

His voice stirred in the air, and the students around him cast curious glances at him, but Ron's eyes became more and more determined, and the dissatisfaction in his heart was like a small flame, burning more and more vigorously.

There was a sharp, cold light in Hermione's eyes, like a cold winter wind blowing across the lake, making people shudder.

She took a deep breath, her voice firm and powerful, conveying her inner determination to every word:

"I think I can tell who is a friend worth making. At least, it won't be someone as ignorant and rude as you."

Her words were like sharp arrows, pointed directly at Weasley. The air around them seemed to freeze, and everyone waited with bated breath.

"Weasley, if you dare to slander Sensenas behind her back again, don't blame me for taking action against you regardless of Gryffindor's feelings."

After saying that, she walked away without looking back and disappeared from everyone's sight, leaving behind an atmosphere of silence and thought.

"Hey, Harry, did you notice?" Ron said as he poked the table hard with a frown.

"Hermione is now like Sensei's tail, always following her. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if the Sorting Hat made a mistake? It should have sorted Hermione into Slytherin, not our Gryffindor." He gritted his teeth, obviously feeling upset about this matter.

"Forget it, Ron, I feel like we're getting further and further away from Hermione. She doesn't even want to call you by your Christian name." Harry said with some worry.

Ron shrugged, his hand drawing a casual arc in the air, as if trying to brush aside the unpleasant conversation.

"Don't take it too personally, Harry."

He pretended to be relaxed and said, "Friendship is not about quantity, but quality. Of course I cherish my friendship with Hermione, but she is not everything to me. We still have each other, don't we?"

At this moment, Hagrid was like a moving hill, holding a lush fir tree tightly in his arms. The treetops swayed, almost covering his burly body.

The sunlight shines through the gaps, casting patches of light on his face, revealing a simple smile.

Ron poked his head out curiously, his face pressed between the green branches, and asked with concern, "Hagrid, how about we give you a hand?"

"No need, Ron." Hagrid's voice was loud and clear, with a confident light in his eyes. He smiled and replied, "I can handle it!"

At this moment, Draco seemed a little impatient in the back. He frowned and complained impatiently: "Can you guys hurry up? Don't block the way here!"

"So, after graduation you plan to guard the entrance to the hunting ground. Wouldn't Hagrid's cozy cottage be a dream palace for you?" He said with a sarcastic smile.

Ron clenched his fists, his blood boiling, and he took big steps and rushed straight towards Draco.

But at this moment, Professor Snape suddenly appeared like a ghost and stood in front of him.

"Weasley, is this how you treat your classmates?" Snape's voice was filled with unquestionable questioning.

Ron's knuckles turned white as he slowly loosened his grip on Draco's collar.

His heart was still struggling with the waves of anger, but the ropes of reason began to tighten.

"Snape, it was Malfoy who started the dispute and insulted Ron's family." Hagrid stood aside, his deep voice defending Ron, like the voice of an ancient giant echoing in the cave.

Snape simply glanced at Hagrid, and his words were as smooth as a slippery snake:

"No matter what the cause, fighting is a violation of school rules. Due to Weasley's impulsiveness, Gryffindor will be deducted ten points. You should be thankful that the punishment is not more severe."

His eyes swept over everyone, and his commanding tone made the air seem to freeze, "Now, everyone go back to your respective places."

The students around him slowly dispersed, leaving Ron standing there, his inner turmoil still not having subsided.

Malfoy held Goyle and Crabbe tightly in his arms and walked roughly past Hagrid. Their heavy footsteps caused the fir trees to drop their needles like a drizzle.

He pushed and shoved at the same time, laughing loudly, and that smug smile was full of disdain and ridicule for Ron and Harry.

Ron gritted his teeth and said angrily, "One day, I will make him pay for what he did today."

Harry Potter immediately chimed in: "I really hate Malfoy and Snape."

Hagrid gently comforted the two and led them to the Great Hall to distract them: "Come, take a look at our Great Hall, there are some things there that will make you feel better."

They walked into the newly decorated hall together and saw Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick busy with the elaborate Christmas decorations. The colorful decorations twinkled in the air under the bright lights.

"Oh, Hagrid, you're here just in time. The last Christmas tree has been moved in. Could you please help me put it in that corner?" Professor McGonagall asked kindly.

The decorations in the auditorium are brand new and sparkling. A Christmas tree stands in the corner, hung with all kinds of decorations:

Twinkling balls, colorful ribbons, exquisite elf dolls and shining stars.

Every piece of decoration seems to be cast with magic, emitting a warm glow and bringing a strong festive atmosphere to this cold winter day.

Hagrid patted Harry's shoulder affectionately and asked gently, "How are you, Harry, are you feeling better?"

Harry nodded slightly, a grateful smile on his face, "I'm much better now, Hagrid, thank you very much. However, Ron and I have to rush to the library now."

Hagrid seemed a little surprised, and raised his eyebrows slightly, "Go to the library? It's vacation time, are you two still studying so hard?"

Harry shook his head gently, "Actually, we didn't go to the library to study this time.

Frankly, we have been looking up information about Nicolas Flamel since you mentioned his name last time, and we really want to know who this person is. "

Hagrid's expression suddenly became tense, and he said in a serious tone: "Listen, Harry, what that ferocious big dog is guarding has nothing to do with you. You'd better not interfere."

Harry replied firmly, "We just want to know who Nicolas Flamel is."

Ron also joined the conversation at this time. He said sincerely: "If you can tell us about Nicolas Flamel, then we don't have to search hard in the library. After all, we have been looking for so long and don't have any useful clues."

"I won't say anything," Hagrid said dryly.

"It seems we can only go to the library to dig for clues ourselves." Ron said casually.

As soon as he finished speaking, Harry and Ron started walking towards the library, leaving Hagrid standing there alone with a bit of anger on his face.

In fact, ever since Hagrid accidentally said that, they have been trying to find out the true identity of Nicolas Flamel.

However, since parting ways with Hermione, Harry and Ron's search has become increasingly difficult.

After arriving at the library, Ron still looked extremely bored. He took book after book from the bookshelf and read it. Harry walked alone to the bookshelf that was designated as a restricted area.

"What are you looking for, child?" asked Madam Pince.

"Nothing," Harry replied after a pause.

"Since it's nothing, please leave here immediately. This is not the place for you." Madam Pince shouted angrily.

Harry left the library in a hurry, hoping that Ron would find some useful information in it.

Ron walked out of the room with a frustrated look on his face. He looked at Harry and shook his head helplessly, his tone full of disappointment: "Harry, I searched everywhere, but still couldn't find any valuable clues."

Harry sighed softly and tried to comfort Ron. "Don't worry. I think we should slow down for a while and give ourselves some time to relax. We may make some new discoveries next."
