## Kakashi's Side ##

Kakashi shuttled between rooftops, his figure flashing between buildings, and headed straight for Xiyan's apartment.

A few minutes later, he was standing in front of her door. Unlike other ninjas, Xi Yan had a small apartment in an ordinary apartment building, living next to ordinary people.

Xi Yan is one of the few ninjas who live in such a place. Most ninjas prefer privacy and often choose single-family houses. Of course, the exception is the clan ninjas, who are usually large families with many people living in the same compound, separated from each other by only a few walls.

Kakashi knocked on the door and waited patiently for a response.

Seconds turned into minutes and he knocked on the door again.

Still no response, he put his ear close to the wooden door and listened carefully to the movement inside.

' Weird,' Kakashi thought to himself as he crouched down, inches away from the door lock.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box slightly larger than his palm, placed it on the ground, and quickly opened it.

Inside the box were some shiny metal tools.

Kakashi almost whistled as he picked up a thin metal lock picking tool and inserted it into the lock cylinder.

He listened to the subtle sound of the spring in the lock and felt the touch of the tool until the lock cylinder was opened.

He put away his tools and gently pushed the door open.

Kakashi couldn't help laughing at the sight that came into his sight.

The shoes were neatly placed in the corner, two swords were hung neatly on the wall, and a small bookshelf was filled with books without a single space.

What was even more surprising was that there were no other books in the room except on the bookshelf.

"What a perfectionist." Kakashi muttered to himself as he walked towards the bedroom and gently opened the door.

His Sharingan scanned the dim room, finding nothing except an empty bed.

He checked other rooms again, but still couldn't find any trace of Xiyan.

Her clothes and equipment were still there, so defection was ruled out.

Just as Kakashi was about to leave the apartment, his nose caught a whiff of a familiar scent.

"Hayate...that makes sense." Kakashi grinned, closed the door, and went straight to Hayate's residence, where he was sure he would find Yugao.

It only took him a moment to reach his destination.

Hayate's residence is an ordinary house, but unlike Xiyan, she lives alone.

Kakashi walked up to the door and knocked politely like any good neighbor would, waiting for a response.

However, there was no movement in the room.

Kakashi frowned slightly and his nose smelled a bloody smell.

"Blood..." His heart tightened, he took a step back, and kicked the wooden door open.

The scene before him was a mess. There was blood everywhere in the room, showing the traces of a fierce battle.

The floor and walls were marked with kunai and shuriken marks, tables and chairs were overturned, and debris from the walls was scattered all over the floor.

Kakashi quickly scanned the room, looking for any sign of Yugao or anyone else.

There was so much blood in the room that it was doubtful if anyone could have survived.

He decided to follow the blood trail to find the source. Soon, he came to another door, which should be Ji Feng's bedroom.

He decided to proceed with caution, as what was happening here was clearly unusual.

Kakashi walked to the door silently and slowly opened it.

"Xiu Yan, Hayate!" Kakashi shouted.

He saw his two companions lying in a pool of blood, and the blood had stained the floor beneath them red.

He rushed to them and checked their injuries.

Kakashi gently placed his fingers on their necks, and when he felt a faint pulse, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ka...ka...xi..." Xiyan moaned weakly, almost unable to open her lips.

Hayate's condition seemed to be worse and he had fallen into a coma.

Fortunately, their wounds were facing the ground, and their blood loss was reduced after they fell into a coma.

Kakashi quickly scanned the room and saw another person lying in the corner with a sword piercing his chest.

'An assassin.' Kakashi thought to himself, noticing that the assassin had a white mask on his face and was wearing simple ANBU attire.

"Shadow Clone Technique." Kakashi whispered, creating a shadow clone, carrying Xi Yan on his shoulder, and pressing her wound with one hand.

The other shadow clone did the same to Hayate, and the two quickly rushed to the hospital.

On the way, Kakashi created another shadow clone to inform the Hokage that someone had attacked her guards.

Although Xi Yan is an elite jonin, there are many more valuable assassination targets in the village.

Everyone knows that Yugao is a member of the Anbu, but only a few know that she is the Hokage's bodyguard.

The thought that someone had figured out their identities and taken action was enough to make people uneasy.

## Akatsuki and Root ##

"Now!" Qu Gen shouted in a low voice, and four figures rushed into the territory of the Senju clan.

Gaara was about to respond to Naruto's call when suddenly a swarm of black bugs emerged from the ground, tearing up the wooden floor.

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" Gaara took a deep breath and released a powerful airflow, dispersing the swarm of insects and forcing them back.

Without having time to think, Gaara jumped up, broke the window, and landed outside the Senju clan's territory.

Sand poured out from the seal on his wrist, crushing the flying insects into powder.

"Bugs are the specialty of the Aburame clan and Fuu..." Gaara wondered who was behind this attack.

"drink!"

A giant white bird suddenly appeared before his eyes and began to emit dazzling light. Gaara's pupils suddenly shrank.

Before he could cover his face, he was blown away by the shock wave of the explosion.

The sand armor had some cracks in the explosion. Gaara adjusted his body in mid-air and landed steadily on the ground.

The ground beneath Gaara's feet suddenly exploded, enveloping him in a cloud of smoke.

"It's over." Deidara stood on the giant clay bird and smiled triumphantly.

However, when he saw that after the smoke dissipated, what appeared was not the fallen Gaara, but a solid sand cocoon, his smile froze.

"Is it the Akatsuki organization?" Gaara's voice came out from the sand cocoon, his tone calm.

"You are either very brave or extremely stupid. You dare to attack one of the five great ninja villages in broad daylight."

Gaara said as he placed his foot on a ball of sand and slowly rose into the air.

"Tsk." Deidara smacked his lips in dissatisfaction. His plan failed.

Now, he had to face the One-Tail Jinchuriki seriously.

"It looks like my art performance is going to be a failure." He muttered in disappointment.

Gaara was about to speak when he suddenly felt the ground shaking violently.

He suddenly turned his head to look to the left, and saw that the courtyard wall of the Senju clan was blown up by a powerful force, and Scorpion's figure flashed out from the smoke and dust.

Then, Feng also walked out slowly, entering the state of the Five-Tails Jinchuriki. Her eyes flashed with a chilling green light, and a dark blue chakra coat was draped over her body.

The ground crumbled beneath her feet, and she charged straight at Scorpion, delivering a powerful blow. Gaara watched as the force of the impact blew Scorpion to pieces.

"They are not alone, Feng!" Gaara reminded aloud, recalling the swarm of insects that almost overwhelmed him before.

"Let me out... I also want to stretch my muscles!" Shukaku shouted in Gaara's mind.

"Now is not the time to joke! They are attacking us, but Konoha has not reacted at all. Feng's attack should have attracted their attention." Gaara responded, and Shukaku snorted in dissatisfaction.

"I haven't used this body in a long time."

A voice interrupted their conversation and Gaara turned to look at the source of the sound.
