I am the Pope in the Western Fantasy World

Chapter 101: Impersonating the Pope

Eli covered his mouth and laughed, with a hint of surprise in his eyes, as if he was surprised by the name she said.

Miss Caroline probably could not have imagined that the man in front of her with short golden hair and an extremely ordinary face covered by a mask is the real Pope of Destiny.

Phil Gray wanted to laugh for a moment after hearing Caroline's words, but he controlled his expression and pretended to be surprised. He glanced at the young man and said, "Oh? What hints did he give you? How did you guess it?"

Caroline smiled and pulled them aside. The music in the dance hall suddenly stopped, but soon a more cheerful piece of music started playing again. Accompanied by the music, the young man walked to the center of the dance hall with a woman in a blue dress.

"He just told me his name is Phil. I was just about to tell him that I know someone with the same name." Caroline winked playfully, "but he took out a flower of destiny. Look!"

In her hand she held a pure white flower, which was the flower of destiny that Phil Gray was very familiar with.

"That's true, but there are so many people favored by the God of Destiny, um... there are a lot of people named Phil, right?" Eli murmured, but he was thinking in his heart, why did this person say his name was Phil, was he impersonating the boss?

He looked at the young man who was like the moon surrounded by stars without leaving a trace. His temperament was indeed outstanding, as if he had received an excellent aristocratic education. Although he could not feel the man's specific level because of the different gods he believed in, his divine power was strong and should be at the attention level.

Phil Gray frowned, not understanding why this man wanted to impersonate him.

"Not only that, he also said that he had just come out to travel recently and asked me some things about the lives of ordinary people. Oh, he almost let it slip that he had been on the throne for too long, but he quickly changed it to being at home for too long, so he didn't know much about the lives of ordinary people, but I still caught it." Caroline added with excitement in her eyes, "And a few days ago, the newspaper within the church mentioned that the Pope of Fate was traveling. Oh my God, who would have thought that one day I would be able to meet a Pope-level figure."

Phil Gray looked solemn. It seemed that this person was intentionally impersonating him. But what he couldn't figure out was what he wanted to do with the help of his identity?

After all, Phil Gray himself has been hiding his identity to avoid being hunted down by hostile forces, and now someone is deliberately impersonating him, and is also a believer in the God of Destiny.

"What's wrong? Why don't you seem excited? This is a big shot!" Caroline looked at the two people in front of her puzzled. One of them had a serious expression and seemed to be thinking about something, while the other was just grinning foolishly and didn't look like he was surprised by the news at all.

"Hahaha, Miss Caroline, forgive me for being blunt, you really are a little bit... well, innocent and cute!" Eli wanted to say silly, but felt it was a bit impolite, so he could only change his words. He shook his head and said, "Don't you know? The Pope was crowned as an ordinary person, which caused a sensation in all major churches at the time. But feel it carefully, the person who just danced with you, the divine power is so strong, how could he be an ordinary person?"

Hearing Eli's doubt, Caroline hesitated for a moment, then tightly grasped the Flower of Destiny in her hand, "But, what if he is suddenly inspired by the gods and awakens to become a god-favored one?"

"Hehe, think about it carefully. Even if he has awakened, he should only be at the listening level. Look at him, he is higher than you, right? At least he should be at the notable level. Is it possible for him to go from an ordinary person to the notable level in such a short time?" Eli said as he glanced at Phil Gray with a guilty conscience. He didn't believe it in the past and could say this with confidence, but now he has to believe it. However, he can only say this to prevent this silly girl from being fooled.

"Oh, yeah." Caroline's eyes sparkled. "Damn it, how could he lie to me? I'm going to expose him!"

As he said this, he angrily crushed the flower of destiny in his hand and threw it on the ground.

Eli grabbed her and said, "Wait, did he only hint at his identity to you?"

"During the nearly three-hour dance, he danced with nearly a dozen girls. I don't know if he told them." Caroline said angrily, her hands on her hips.

"Of course he did, look!" Eli pointed at the fake Phil who had finished the dance. He handed a flower of destiny to the lady in the blue dress and bent down to kiss the back of her hand.

"Tsk tsk tsk, more than a dozen ladies. Even though it's just dancing, I still think he is on par with George." Eli continued to sigh, but when he turned around and saw Phil Gray's gloomy face, he was shocked.

"Hmph, dancing is fine, but if he pretends to be... well, the Pope and does something shameful, I will make him pay!" Phil Gray looked speechlessly at the imposter who was like a fish in water in the center of the ballroom. However, he had no sufficient reason to go up and expose him. The reason that Eli just said was not sufficient. After all, most of the passengers were ordinary people. They did not know much about the people favored by God. They only knew how noble the Pope of the Church of Destiny was, that he possessed power beyond the world and was loved by countless believers.

Caroline seemed to realize that this was not enough evidence to reveal his identity, so she could only sit down on a chair beside her depressed, picked up the drink on the table, and drank it all in one breath.

"Haha, don't worry. In fact, I don't think he can fool other people. Maybe only Miss Caroline believes it." Eli blocked Phil Gray's ear with his hand and whispered.

"Ah, hey, I am also a person favored by God after all. Do you think I can't hear you?" Caroline rolled her eyes and said suspiciously, "But you seem to be very protective of the Pope of Fate. Do you have any dealings with the Fate Cult?"

"After all, we have the same name, so naturally I have a good impression of the Pope." Phil Gray made up a story.

"Oh, if I hadn't known you were from our Dawn Church, I would have suspected you were the Pope. But thinking about it carefully, it's unlikely. I heard that the Pope is very good-looking, so it's unlikely to be you either." Caroline said, still looking at the fake Phil with a bit of viciousness, but she quickly reacted and apologized, "I didn't mean to say you're not as good-looking as him, don't think too much."

Phil Gray naturally wouldn't bother with her about such a small matter. They watched Bernie announce the end of the dance, and the passengers began to leave one after another. Some people continued to compliment the fake Phil, in return for that person's arrogant smile.

"Pay more attention to him these days. If he has any conspiracy, we can stop him in time." Phil Gray said to Eli and Caroline.

"it is good."

"it is good."

Everyone in the dance hall was almost leaving. Seeing that the impostor seemed to be planning to leave as well, they walked out the door first, pretending not to pay attention to him.

But just as he took a step, Phil Gray felt a hand patting his shoulder from behind. The unique fragrance of the Flower of Destiny lingered at his nose. He turned around and saw the slightly smiling face. "Hello, my name is Phil, how are you?"
