Chapter 121: Death Corridor
Although the vampire in front of him looked like he was salivating at his blood, Phil Gray was not afraid. Not to mention that the owner of the house and Leopold were around and it was impossible for them to just watch him get sucked of his blood. Besides, the vampire was not someone to be trifled with and this vampire might not be able to defeat him.
"No, I think this wine tastes very good. It's slightly spicy and mellow, better than some of the finest wines in the world." Phil Gray took a sip and said to the vampire with a smile.
"Really? You're really interesting, little guy. It's been two or three hundred years. I wonder what the world is like now. It's rare to see a living person as fearless as you." The vampire's bloodshot eyes showed a hint of nostalgia. He leaned back in his chair with a curious expression. "But can you tell me, what do you rely on to dare to attend the rebirth banquet of a group of dead souls so ostentatiously?"
Phil Gray glanced at Frank and Leopold, and said to the vampire in a mysterious manner: "I have a friend who is a big shot. I won't talk about other places, but in your Northern Territory, he can definitely walk sideways."
It seems that this vampire is not a high-level undead yet. He has not felt the protection of the Death Knight and is at most at the same level as him.
"Oh? Who is it?" The vampire's eyes flashed, and he looked very interested.
"Of course I can't tell you. He asked me to keep a low profile."
"Okay." The vampire was a little disappointed, and then he heard Frank's voice, "Don't be so curious. Go back and say hello to your clan leader for me. Tell him that my long-cherished wish is finally coming true. Let him have time to go to my resting house. I have something to give him."
"Okay, Mr. Frank." The vampire nodded, and finally sat properly in his seat here, paying attention to other parts of the banquet instead of staring at Phil Gray.
"Wait a little longer, the lord will come to you and will definitely ask you about that person. When the time comes, don't say that you don't know the person's true identity. Just say that you have a friendship that transcends life and death and that he values you very much. Then take the opportunity to ask to return to the human world and ask the lord to open the corridor of death for you."
A faint voice came into Phil Gray's ears. It was Frank's voice, but in his sight, Frank did not speak.
I guess he was afraid that others might hear him, so he used some special method to convey the message to himself.
Phil Gray didn't care. All he cared about now was how to get back to the human world through what they called the Corridor of Death.
He turned his gaze back to the Skeleton Lord. The Skeleton Lord was scanning all the undead present with a calm gaze. Although he had no eyes, only empty eye sockets and vigorous spiritual fire, all the undead could clearly sense his gaze.
After the newly born skeletons were taken away, the ordinary undead people gathered at the door were also dispersed. The final content of the rebirth banquet was that all the distinguished guests who came to participate enjoyed the delicacies of the human world.
Phil Gray took a look at the food on the table. It was indeed very rich, with roast lamb chops with gravy, bread rolls filled with foie gras, fragrant herring pie, several small plates of rose jam, and so on.
He was just curious about where these undead spirits got the human food from and how they digested it.
Just as he was in a daze, he heard Frank knocking on the table in front of him. He looked up and saw the Skeleton Lord walking towards him.
Phil Gray quickly stood up and went to meet him.
"Guest from the human world, do you have time to chat with me for a moment?" said the Skeleton Lord in a friendly voice.
"It's my pleasure." Phil Gray nodded.
"My lord, I have to go with you. It's not that I want to disturb your conversation, but he summoned me to be his partner, and I can't leave his side for the whole day." Leopold also came over and said helplessly.
"No problem, Frank, come over here too. After all, it's rare to see you out." The Skeleton Lord turned and walked towards the stairs of the castle.
"As you wish." The owner of the house floated up and followed them, returning a look to Leopold.
They all went up to the second floor of the castle, and the guests below once again focused their attention on Phil Gray and began to whisper to each other.
The vampire sitting in his original position shrugged. He was really curious about who the big shot was. Then he thought about those guys who were rampant in the Northern Territory and eliminated them one by one. However, he did not find any of them who had the patience to interact with living people. After all, they could even kill the undead at will, let alone the living.
Walking up the stairs, you will reach the second floor of the castle, where there is a reception room. It is simply decorated with a carpet embroidered with skull patterns and several benches made of bones.
There was no light either, but with the spiritual fire of the Skeleton Lord and Leopold, it was no problem to see the environment here clearly.
"Please take a seat."
Phil Gray thanked him and sat down on the bone bench.
"Do you know the Death Knight Wilder?" The Skeleton Lord asked straight to the point.
"Yes, he is my good friend." Phil Gray remembered Frank's instructions, admitted with a smile, his eyes revealing the emotion of missing his friend.
He really missed the brief time in the Vatican, as well as the guidance and care he received when he first arrived in the world of Weir.
"Do you know his recent whereabouts?" asked the Skeleton Lord.
"He should have been summoned to the temple by the God of Death. If he comes out, he will tell me." Phil Gray smiled and said casually.
I hope the owner's information is correct.
"Well, what's the matter with you coming to the abyss?" the Skeleton Lord asked again.
"I also entered accidentally. I was just about to ask you for a favor." Phil Gray looked at the Skeleton Lord sincerely, "I hope you can open the Corridor of Death for me so that I can pass through the corridor and return to the human world. If you help me, I will be very grateful and tell my friends about your kindness."
The Skeleton Lord was silent for a moment before he slowly spoke, "Do you know the Corridor of Death? Why don't you wait for Lord Wilder to come out and take you back to the human world?"
"I really don't understand, but I have very urgent matters to deal with in the human world. My friend is being threatened by the enemy, and I have to rush back as soon as possible, so I can't wait for Wilder to come out. What's more, I don't expect him to come out soon. I know that meeting the gods is such a great gift for him, how can I disturb him because of my own affairs?" Phil Gray had a faint smile on his face.
The Skeleton Lord nodded, seeming to believe his answer. "Well, the Corridor of Death is the boundary between the human world and the abyss, and it is an endless dark passage. There are many undead souls who have lost their minds. They are bound by the power of death and cannot leave or rest. They will attack any living being who enters the Corridor of Death, trying to take their lives and souls. Only a very small number of powerful or lucky creatures can pass through the Corridor of Death and return to the human world."
