I am the Pope in the Western Fantasy World
Chapter 185 All Missing
"What's wrong?" Phil Gray opened the door, and Eli and Ernest stood in the not-so-bright sunlight.
The slightly cool morning air blew his fluffy hair. It should be only six or seven o'clock now, but he didn't bother to confirm the time because Eli in front of him showed a rare look of worry on his face.
"Boss, Miss Melody and Son Vincent are missing."
"Missing? Didn't Vincent go to the Paki Empire to investigate the cause of death of the princess? And Melody should have come to my house last night, so how come they disappeared together?" Phil Gray asked puzzledly.
Especially Melody, as the daughter of Pope Dawn, how could she disappear in her own territory?
"It's not a total disappearance, it's just a coincidence. People from the Paki Empire came in a hurry to see them early this morning. The messenger traveled all night and said that their palace was attacked. Vincent and several Dawn Knights who protected him went to chase the black-robed men who attacked them. It's been almost two days and there's still no news. But yesterday, those black-robed men attacked the palace again. They were worried that something had happened, so they came to report to the Dawn Church and asked for support." Eli went on to say, "As for Miss Melody, her maid also asked to see His Holiness the Pope. She said that the lady seemed to be worried yesterday afternoon and went out in a hurry at night. Before leaving, she asked her to report to the Pope that she had an accident if she didn't come back before the first ray of morning light."
"Did she say what she was going to do?"
"No, the maid said Miss Melody said nothing more than that, and there was no one around her." Eli shook his head.
"What did Pope Dawn say?" Phil Gray rubbed his brows, feeling a little strange. What was there that required this princess of the Holy See to know that there was danger yet she still went there alone?
Did she know about Vincent's disappearance? Why didn't she tell her father, the Pope?
Also, was it because she was worried about this matter that she had to take the risk and came to see me in a hurry last night but left because I was meeting with Walker Dodd?
Eli slowly recounted what happened to Pope Dawn in the church just now. "Pope Dawn is very worried about them. He has sent Elder Aubrey, who doesn't get along well with us, to the Paki Empire. He has also dispatched many knights to look for Miss Melody's whereabouts. Look, people are coming."
He turned sideways so that Phil Gray could clearly see the golden-armored knights marching in neat steps.
The middle-aged man in the lead held his head high and his face solemn. When he walked in front of Phil Gray, he bowed slightly and said, "Your Highness, someone saw Miss Melody visiting your mansion last night."
"Yes, she visited my mansion instead of visiting me. It's a pity that I was entertaining other guests at the time, so she left before I saw her. Otherwise, perhaps I could have helped her." Phil Gray showed a look of self-blame on his face.
The middle-aged man nodded. He had already found out that Melody only stayed at the Saint's residence for a few minutes. He just wanted to see if he could find some other clues.
"Would you mind if I search the area where Miss Melody passed?"
"Of course I don't mind..." As Phil Gray finished speaking, a golden fireball was thrown at him.
Then, dense fireballs flew towards him like dense raindrops. Before Eli and Ernest could make a move, the middle-aged man quickly raised a round shield and absorbed all the fireballs.
He shouted, "Who is it?"
But he was hit on the head by a wooden cane. The middle-aged man looked up in astonishment and frowned, "Elder, what's wrong with you?"
Phil Gray also looked up and saw a huge golden leaf appear in the sky. An old man was sitting cross-legged on the leaf. His face was ashen and he stared at him angrily.
It turned out to be Elder Memphis who went to Malu Island to look for his granddaughter!
"Good boy, you dare to lie to me!"
Memphis summoned another fireball and threw it at Phil Gray. This time the middle-aged man did not dare to stop him. He just advised from the side: "Elder, let's talk it over. It would not be good if you hurt His Royal Highness the Saint."
Ernest swung his sword to block one fireball after another, but the attack of the God-Demoted Elder was not so easy to take. His sword turned red under the high temperature of the fireball, and a string of white bubbles appeared on his hands.
Eli summoned a giant skeleton to block Phil Gray, but the moment the skeleton saw the fireball, it broke free from Eli's control and drilled into the ground, causing his mouth to twitch slightly.
There is no way, the divine power of Dawn is the natural enemy of the undead.
Phil Gray did not sit still and wait for death. While resisting with the Blazing Sun Sword, he shouted, "Elder Memphis, I definitely did not lie to you! The experiences on Malu Island and the Ghost Ship were all real. After all, I saved your granddaughter's life, you can't be ungrateful!
"The most important thing now is to find Caroline! You have to tell us what happened there, and we will definitely help you find Miss Caroline!"
Caroline was clearly in that strange church when she left. Could she have been taken away by that mysterious undead predecessor?
Memphis's face was gloomy and uncertain. Just as he was about to say something, a sharp cat's cry reached his ears.
"Meow--"
A black cat jumped from the roof onto his sacred leaf, and its claws, which had grown larger in an instant, grabbed his face.
"Night, no!"
Phil Gray also saw what Heiye did. He thought the little guy was still snoring in bed, but he didn't expect him to come to help them.
He felt extremely relieved in his heart instantly, but he was also worried that if Elder Memphis was really caught, he would hurt Heiye in anger!
But the little black cat's claws still landed on the elder's wrinkled face. Phil Gray's heart skipped a beat, and his hands slowed down for a moment. A fireball ignited the corner of his clothes. The scorching flames seemed to burn his bones, but he did not rush to put out the fire. He still stared at the movement above his head.
After all, he was an elder demoted from God, so the black cat's claws only left a shallow white mark.
Then Elder Memphis frowned and grabbed the back of Fate of the Night's neck.
This little guy who had never been caught finally failed.
Memphis stopped the attack, and the golden leaves fell to the ground and turned into smoke. He held the back of the night's neck and snorted coldly: "Your Highness, you said, help me find Caroline, or I will skin it! Before you find my granddaughter, this cat will be held hostage for me, okay?"
