I am the Pope in the Western Fantasy World
Chapter 224: The Wisdom Prophet
"That was just a way for me to transfer my divine power. I stayed behind to protect you. It also allowed me to locate you and find you easily. Speaking of this, I'm really speechless. I've been so good to you, and you just left me to that stinky old man?" There was accusation in Heiye's eyes, and the rich content of "I" made Phil Gray a little dizzy.
"Can I apologize to you? You are my partner and I shouldn't have abandoned you. There won't be a next time." Phil Gray could only comfort her patiently.
"Humph, that's more like it. If we want a more perfect way, we can sign a soul contract, so that you can use my divine power."
"Soul contract?"
“Well, but your power is still too weak now, and I haven’t fully recovered yet, so there’s no rush. Once you’ve gained enough power from other gods, I’ll sign a soul contract with you. As for how to gain the power of other gods, just cheat if you can, rob if you can’t, and pick up other people’s sacred objects if you can’t rob. That’s enough, I won’t say more,” Hei Ye yawned after he finished speaking. “For now, let’s do this first. Go and prepare some food for me. Although that stinky old man is stupid and reckless, his cooking skills are pretty good. I’ve suffered a lot following you—”
"Ok."
Phil Gray nodded helplessly, but his doubts were indeed dispelled by this conversation. He walked out and asked Kane and Milu to prepare some fish with special effects, either steamed or fried, and finally satisfied the appetite of the Son of the Night.
The cat fell into a deep sleep on the bed. He looked at the time and tried to catch up on his sleep before the coming day.
It was not until the daytime prophet's gaze passed over the walls of fate and the warmth awakened the sleeping Pope that he thought it was time to get up and meet the prophet of the light of wisdom.
Phil Gray walked into the reception room of the palace. In front of him was a huge floor-to-ceiling window. Sunlight poured into the room through the carefully carved glass window patterns, making the entire room bright and warm.
He sat down at the desk in the reception room, opposite which was also a comfortable chair where the guest would sit later.
"Your Majesty, the prophet of the light of wisdom has arrived." Ernest stepped forward to report.
"Okay." Phil Gray stood up.
Following the sound of footsteps, an old man in a white robe slowly walked in. His robe was embroidered with ancient black characters, which swayed gently with his steps, as if telling ancient wisdom. The prophet had wise eyes and a thick white beard that hung down to his chest, giving people a solemn and inviolable feeling.
His expression was very serious, and even when His Majesty the Pope of Fate smiled at him in greeting, he just nodded slightly without any change in his face, which reminded Phil Gray of his math teacher in his previous life who was known for his rigor.
Even he felt a little nervous when facing such a person.
"I've heard of the Prophet's name for a long time. I didn't expect you to visit me suddenly. It's really an honor." Phil Gray spoke first.
"We are sorry for coming here without permission and we hope you will forgive us for disturbing you. I am just surprised to hear that you have become the favored of many gods. After all, this is unprecedented in the history of Weir. I have studied theology all my life and pored over countless ancient books. I am even familiar with rural gossips and legends, but I have never seen any records similar to yours." The Prophet of the Light of Wisdom directly expressed his confusion and puzzlement.
As believers of the god of knowledge and wisdom, it is their destiny to pursue and explore all the unknown.
"I'm sorry, I don't know either." Phil Gray had no intention of deceiving the prophet, but God's plan could not be revealed easily.
"You are lying, you must know it." The prophet's eyes were sharp and he saw through him easily.
"I'm not lying, Prophet. The intentions of God are not something that mortals like us can guess." Phil Gray smiled bitterly.
"Your Majesty, the Pope of Destiny, if you don't trust me, I can swear to my God that I will never reveal your words. I only hope that you can give me a true explanation." The Prophet of the Light of Wisdom stood up, raised his hand solemnly, and swore to his God.
He stared at the Pope of Fate opposite him with burning eyes, as if he could see through the other's soul.
"This……"
Faced with such a sincere look, Phil Gray didn't know what to do for a moment.
"Is this related to the coming of the three gods of disease, plague, and disaster? Perhaps you have reached some agreement with the gods who favor you?" The prophet was the first to speak out his guess, and further added: "As long as His Holiness the Pope is willing to answer my confusion, I can agree to one condition of yours, as long as I or the Light of Wisdom can do it."
"Okay." Phil Gray felt he had to compromise.
Perhaps after understanding the truth, this prophet of the light of wisdom can help him gather divine power.
"Did you know that there might be other gods besides the Vil gods?"
he asked first.
"Naturally, according to the view of multiverse theory, there should be countless worlds outside the world of Weir, and naturally there will be countless gods." The prophet nodded, not surprised.
"Gods from certain other worlds, collectively known as the Gods of the Abyss, are gradually eroding our world, but our gods' power is too dispersed to contend with them, so the God of Destiny thought of combining the power of all gods into one to create an unprecedentedly powerful god." Phil Gray summarized everything in a few words, and I'm sure this wise prophet would understand.
After hearing this, the prophet's eyes flashed with surprise. He lowered his head and stroked his white beard fiercely. The force was so strong that Phil Gray's jaw hurt a little.
After a long silence, the prophet raised his head and murmured, "So that's how it is. No wonder, no wonder!"
"What's wrong? Do you know anything else?"
Phil Gray looked at the prophet as if he knew something he didn't.
“I have read countless broken ancient books buried deep underground. The older the books are, the richer the records of gods they contain. I have also learned that a long, long time ago, there was an experience of gods living on earth.
"Unfortunately, there are only a few rock paintings left from tens of thousands of years ago. You can count them on one hand. In these few rock paintings, there are repeated paintings of monsters that look like gods but are not gods. They seem to have terrifying powers comparable to gods, but there are no more records after this time point of ten thousand years. If I am not mistaken, those may be the gods of the secret abyss that you mentioned."
The prophet frowned, and the images carved on the stone flashed through his mind. However, due to the erosion of time, the faces of those monsters became blurred.
He was somewhat glad that these rock paintings were no longer complete pictures, otherwise they would have been contaminated by the gods of the abyss.
