Come to another world and become a lord
Chapter 231 Alia's Departure
The light inside the tent was dim, and the leather tent swayed slightly in the night wind, reflecting a dim warm light. Akitila lay on the thick fur, his face pale, with a lingering fatigue between his brows. He leaned on the bed and opened his eyes slightly when he heard the hurried footsteps.
"Daddy!" The curtain was suddenly opened, and Nura rushed in angrily, her long white hair flying up with her movements, and her eyes burning with uncontrollable anger. She looked at her father lying on the bed, and the rise and fall of her chest showed her inner unrest.
Akitila looked at her calmly and said calmly:
"what are you saying?"
Noura walked a few steps to the bedside, clenched her teeth, and said with restrained anger in her voice:
"Why are you holding Carl hostage?"
Akitila coughed lightly and raised his hand to signal the servants in the tent to leave. When there were only two people left in the tent, he spoke slowly, with a hint of calmness in his tone:
"I'm helping you."
"Help me?" Noura shook her head, her face becoming even angrier. "Do you think holding him hostage is helping me?"
Akitila raised his head slightly and looked directly at her. Although he was weak, he still had an unquestionable majesty:
"Isn't it? Isn't this the result you want?"
Noura was startled when she heard this, then she clenched her fists, her eyes red:
"That's not the case at all! Did you know that he already has someone he likes?"
"So what?" Akitila's tone remained calm, but there was ruthlessness in his words.
"You can't force him!" Noura was furious, with an uncontrollable tremor in her voice.
Akitila looked at her quietly, and after a while he slowly said:
"Nura, what do you think this is? Are you playing house? This is politics, not romance."
Noura stared at her father, her voice filled with endless disappointment:
"So you can sacrifice the happiness of others for the sake of so-called political interests? Is this what you want to teach me?"
Akitila's eyes wavered for a moment, and then he regained his cold rationality. He leaned against the head of the bed, sighed deeply, and said in a low voice:
"This concerns the future survival of the entire tribe. Carl is the only hope."
"Even if we don't get married, we can find other ways!" Noura's voice was anxious as she tried to persuade her father to change his mind.
"What can I do?" Akitila suddenly raised his voice, and then he started to cough violently due to excessive force. He waved his hand, signaling Nura not to get close, and continued: "Nura, the construction of the Great Wall has attracted so much opposition, and the Black Eagle Tribe and the Red Blood Tribe are eyeing it covetously. If Karl does not become your husband, the people of the tribe will only continue to hate him and be his enemy, and in the end..."
Destruction, the entire tribe and perhaps even all of humanity will be destroyed in the internal strife. Akitila doesn't want to think about this possibility anymore.
Noura looked at her father's frail figure, feeling angry and sad. She bit her lip, not knowing how to refute.
Akitila panted for a while, slowly closed his eyes, and his voice was full of unquestionable determination: "Go out, and don't come here again without my order."
"Dad..." Noura tried to say something else, but was interrupted coldly by her father.
"Get out!" Akitila suddenly opened his eyes, his eyes were as sharp as knives, his voice was low and majestic, carrying an unquestionable order.
Noura gritted her teeth and finally turned away without saying a word. When the curtain fell, her figure disappeared into the darkness, leaving only the candlelight swaying slightly in the wind.
Noura walked out of the tent, the night wind blew in her face, bringing the chill of deep winter. Anger and powerlessness surged in her chest, her fists clenched, her nails almost digging into her palms. Gritting her teeth, she jumped on the horse, whipped it and galloped away. The night sky was as dark as ink, the cold air cut her face, her long white hair fluttered in the wind, the coldness penetrated her skin, and suppressed her anger even more.
She ran all the way until the engineering team's camp came into view. The lights were dim and the surroundings were shrouded in silence. Noura rushed into the camp without stopping, heading straight for the tent of the dwarf engineer Goswin with a clear goal in mind.
Goswin was squatting beside a pile of tools, holding a hammer in his hand, checking a steel nail. He heard hurried footsteps, looked up, and saw Nura walking towards him angrily. The dwarf was slightly startled, stood up, leaned on the hammer and asked: "Snow Princess? It's so late, why didn't Carl come back with you?"
Noura’s expression was cold, and her voice was filled with suppressed anger: “My father has detained Karl.”
Goswin's eyes widened when he heard this, his face full of disbelief: "What? Detained Karl? But why?"
Noura pursed her lips and did not answer directly. Instead, she took out a letter from her arms and handed it to Goswin: "Give this letter to Alia and ask her to bring someone over."
Goswin took the letter and looked at Noura for a moment, with a complicated expression: "Your Highness, is this... really appropriate?"
Nura's eyes were as cold as ice, and her tone was resolute: "I can't care about so many things."
The dwarf looked at her determined eyes, sighed, and shook his head helplessly: "Okay, I understand. I will rush to Rickburg as soon as possible."
After he finished speaking, he carefully put away the letter and turned around to start packing. His movements were quick and neat, but the slight twitch of his mouth revealed his inner worries.
Noura stood aside, watching Goswin's busy back, with mixed emotions surging in her heart. The wind blew up her white hair, which looked like flying snow under the night sky. She took a deep breath, looked up into the distance, and whispered to herself: "Karl, you must hold on..."
A week later, in Reikberg, the morning sun shone through the mist into the castle courtyard, casting a soft golden glow on the surrounding stone walls. Alia stood on the balcony, holding the letter from Noura in her hand, her fingertips unconsciously stroking the paper. She quickly read the content, her brows gradually furrowed as the words unfolded. As soon as she finished reading the last line of the letter, her expression had changed from initial doubt to heavy.
The sorceress Amira beside her was fiddling with a wooden sculpture on the table, a crudely crafted eagle statue, and she used magic to make it flap its wings from time to time. Noticing Arya's expression, she tilted her head and asked:
"What's wrong? What's in the letter?"
Alia pursed her lips and said in a deep voice:
"Something happened in the north. The Great Khan has detained Karl."
Amira was stunned for a moment, then raised her eyebrows and said with a hint of amusement in her tone:
"Detained Karl? What does that mean? Weren't they supposed to build a wall for them? Why did they change their mind? What do they want to do?"
Alia folded the letter, her eyes calm but with hidden emotions:
"The letter said that the Great Khan wanted to marry Karl as his son-in-law, but Karl refused..."
Amira was stunned, then burst out laughing, saying in an exaggerated tone:
"What? Stealing a man? And it happened to you? Can you tolerate this?"
Alia did not respond, but looked out the window. The mountains in the distance were shrouded in a layer of mist, with layers of green, like a silent painting. She thought for a moment, sighed softly, and then suddenly said:
"It looks like I have to go north."
Amira stood up immediately and threw the wooden sculpture aside.
"I'll go with you too! How can I be left out of this kind of thing?"
Alia turned around, with a hint of helplessness between her brows:
"Are you going to help or just watch the fun?"
Amira crossed her arms, raised her eyebrows and smiled:
"Of course I'm helping you! How can we let that little bitch over there succeed?"
Alia couldn't help but let out a bitter smile. She thought for a moment, shook her head and said, "Okay, I'll take you to Yecheng."
Amira raises her eyebrows and smiles proudly:
"That's right! Let's go pack our things!"
As the sun shone, the two girls rode their horses at full speed, leaving Rickburg and heading north.
