Chapter 106: The Birth of the Pirate Flag

"Okay! It's done!!"

Qi watched as Luffy proudly raised a black flag with an abstract doodle on it and guessed "Is this the Pirate Flag?"

"That's right!" Luffy laughed and said, "I thought about it for a long time and decided to use this as our logo."

"Using a straw hat as a logo is a really good idea, Luffy," Qi praised.

"My...ours...?" Zoro said in disbelief.

"This guy, you can tell at first glance that he has no artistic talent." Usopp muttered in shock.

"No... from a certain perspective, it's probably some kind of abstract art." Nami stroked her chin and carefully looked at the graffiti on Luffy's hand.

"The pirate flag should be a symbol of the terror of death! But this flag..." Zoro crossed his arms in front of his chest and wondered, "Well, in a sense, it is indeed scary."

"What do you think?" Luffy turned his head and looked at Qi who was standing aside with a huge smile on his face, and asked expectantly. He could feel that they seemed not very satisfied with his painting.

"It's not that bad. I think your idea is great, Luffy." Qi encouraged with a gentle smile on his face.

"Great, I knew I drew well!" Luffy had a bright smile on his face.

"Hey, don't be so pampered!" Nami looked at Qi and warned, "You'll be laughed at!"

Qi continued with a smile on his face, "How could that be? Let's draw another one, of course according to Luffy's idea, a skeleton wearing a straw hat."

"Hey!" Luffy protested with a pout.

"How could you not ask me to draw the pirate flag?" Usopp smiled confidently, "I often create on other people's walls."

Usopp quickly completed the skull logo wearing a straw hat on the flag.

"Well, the painting is perfect!" Nami said happily as she looked at Usopp's craftsmanship.

"Well, it's a very good painting!" Qi agreed.

"It's hard to imagine that this is the same pattern." Zoro looked at the two flags in confusion.

Luffy didn't mind at all, he put his hands on his hips and said happily, "Great, I like it! Let's draw one on the sail too!"

"Okay, it's done!" Usopp lay tiredly on the deck after completing all the flags and sails.

"Now the pirate ship Golden Merry is completely completed!" Luffy announced with a smile.

……

"Boom!!"

A huge cannon shot rang out from the sky, waking up Nami and Chi, who were lying on the front deck basking in the sun. Zoro, who was sleeping against the mast, instantly straightened up and looked towards the direction of the sound in confusion.

"What are you doing! You scared me!" Zoro shouted at Luffy who was standing at the stern. From his angle, he could see Usopp and Luffy standing next to the cannon and studying something.

When Qi realized that the sound was made by Luffy using the cannon, he didn't care about it anymore and continued to bask in the sun, enjoying this hard-earned leisure time.

Luffy, who finally went out to sea, has also gone out to sea, but no one knows when he will be able to see Ace and Lucci. Although he is Lucci's clone, he left his shadow when Lucci was 10 years old, so even he, as his clone, doesn't know much about Lucci's condition. The only thing that is clear is that he is still alive. From the memory fragments that occasionally gain abilities, we can roughly know that he is on the Grand Line with Ace.

Qi used his arms to block out the dazzling sunlight, and his thoughts suddenly entered a vague memory. He didn't know why this memory suddenly appeared. When he tried to touch it, he felt a strong resistance. This seemed to be Lu Qi's memory, and he seemed to be rejecting it...

"Get out here, you pirates! I'm going to kill you all!"

A sudden shout interrupted Qi's thoughts. He sat up from the lounge chair and looked at the deck below. A man wearing sunglasses and holding a knife was shouting ferociously. The most eye-catching thing was the tattoo on his face.

"Johnny?" Zoro came out of the kitchen and looked at the people on the deck with wide eyes. When he saw that he was the only one there, he asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Isn't Joseph with you?"

"Brother... Brother Zoro?" The man stared at Zoro with wide eyes and immediately let go of the sword in his hand. Hearing Zoro's question, he gritted his teeth and said, "Joseph... He is sick."

"Are you sick?!" Zoro said in shock.

"Well... he was still alive and kicking a few days ago, but I don't know what happened, he suddenly turned pale and often fainted..." Johnny moved Joseph from their boat to Merry's deck, and looked at Joseph covered in blood and bandages, covering his face and saying in pain, "Later, his teeth began to fall out and his old injuries recurred, and the bleeding would not stop. I really didn't know what I could do, so I had to let him lie on the rocks to rest... Then the ship opened fire..."

When Luffy and Usopp heard this, they immediately realized that they had gotten into trouble and hurriedly bowed to him and apologized, "Sorry... I'm sorry!"

Qi looked at the situation below and was a little confused. This should be scurvy. Thinking of the disease described in the book, he turned and walked towards the kitchen.

“What an idiot!!”

Nami's voice suddenly sounded, and Zoro and Johnny immediately looked up at Nami.

"Nami, what did you say?" Zoro asked in an annoyed voice, although he didn't think Nami would laugh at someone in poor physical condition.

"You dare to laugh at my partner's death? I won't let you go..." Johnny threatened with a knife in his hand.

"Luffy! Usopp! Aren't there limes in the kitchen? Go squeeze some orange juice and bring it over." Nami commanded.

"Coming." Just then Qi appeared with a glass of orange juice and handed it to Luffy who was about to rush to the kitchen.

Nami glanced at Qi with appreciation. She didn't expect that there were still people on this ship who had common sense. "This is scurvy. If there is still time, it will be cured in a few days."

Luffy and Usopp got the orange juice and immediately poured it into the mouth of the lying person.

After a while, the person lying on the ground suddenly stood up, full of energy.

"You're so awesome! You're like a doctor." Luffy said in admiration.

"I've long believed that you are a capable woman!" Usopp said proudly as he stood beside Luffy.

"This is just common sense at sea! If you keep going like this, you will die sooner or later!" Nami yelled at the two of them angrily, and then continued, "I don't know much either. They are in this situation because they don't have enough nutrition."

"This is a lesson for us," Qi said. "We must have a chef during the voyage to help balance nutrition with limited food, otherwise similar situations may happen to us."

"Indeed, this is an indispensable person!" Nami said while sitting on the stairs.

"Okay! I've decided!" Luffy grinned, and the others looked at him expectantly, and then heard him say "We need a musician!!"

"What!?" they yelled at Luffy, not understanding why he kept clinging to the musician.

"Musicians are a must for pirates..."

Nami's fist interrupted Luffy's next words.

"We need a cook, idiot!" Nami said angrily.

"Ouch!" Luffy pouted and covered the bump on his head.

After introducing himself, Johnny raised his hand and said loudly, "Brother! I know where to find a chef. Sail north for two or three days from here. There is a restaurant on the sea with many excellent chefs. But be careful, because it is very close to the Grand Line. I heard that Hawkeye, whom you have been looking for, has also been around there."

Zoro took Johnny's last words somewhat seriously, maybe he could meet and challenge him.
