Fragrant willow catkins

Chapter 16 Falling into the water

The next day, Mo Xi reported to the Second Madam's courtyard early in the morning, under the pretext of coming to play with Mo Tang, but in fact he was just following Mo Tang and Ning Xu around, either in a daze or complaining about these two people in his heart. It's just flowers, grass and mud, what's so fun about it?

Ningxu was not surprised by Mo Xi's arrival. She just watched them from a distance and did not do anything substantial. But Mo Tang felt a little uncomfortable. He was a little afraid of his fifth sister. She always said things that made people uncomfortable, as if everyone else in the mansion owed her something.

Ningxu was flying a kite with Mo Tang. The kite's string was in Mo Tang's hand, but Mo Tang was not very interested, so the kite could not fly for a long time.

"Tang'er, are you unhappy?" Ning Xu bent down and whispered to Mo Tang.

Mo Tang: "Hmm...what is Fifth Sister doing there? She doesn't come over to play with us, and she doesn't leave either."

Ningxu: "You don't want to play with her?"

Mo Tang nodded lacking interest.

Ningxu glanced back and saw that Mo Xi was not looking at them. She was staring blankly at something. "Then we should leave quietly without her?"

Mo Tang smiled and said, "Okay!"

Ningxu had a foundation in martial arts, and he made rapid progress after arriving in Yonghe Continent. With a little effort, he picked up Tang'er and disappeared on the spot. By the time Mo Xi reacted and looked at them again, the two of them had disappeared.

Mo Xi: "Where's the person?!" Mo Xi looked around anxiously. Ru Meng, this slave, was really too much! She took Mo Tang away without even saying hello to her. She was a princess of a country, and a slave dared to act on her own!

Ningxu actually didn't walk very far. After all, she wouldn't take Mo Tang out of the house to play without the Second Madam's permission. They were by the lake at the gate of the courtyard. There was a bridge over the lake. The two of them landed on the bridge. Ningxu took out a bag of feed from somewhere, and the two of them fed the fish on the bridge.

Mo Xi in the yard was naturally unwilling to be abandoned by them. He was determined to find Ningxu and teach her a lesson. He asked other people in the yard if they had seen Ningxu and the others.

After a while, Mo Xi finally found the two people. Mo Xi stood at the main gate of the yard, his eyes unclear. On the bridge, the two were absorbed in watching the fish in the water, and did not notice that Mo Xi was quietly walking towards them from behind.

Mo Xi was standing behind Ning Xu. Ning Xu was watching the show with great interest. Suddenly, she felt someone pushing her. She felt dizzy and her body tilted towards the lake and fell into it.

Mo Tang had never seen such a big scene before. He quickly stood up and shouted, "Someone come quickly! Someone come quickly! Sister, sister! My sister fell into the lake! Someone come quickly!" Mo Tang's voice became louder and louder, and even sounded like tears.

Hearing the young master's cry, a large group of people rushed out of the courtyard, pulled Mo Tang over the bridge, and fished Ning Xu out. Although it was spring, the lake water was still very cold, and Ning Xu fainted soon after falling into the lake. The second wife heard the news and rushed over, and saw Mo Tang kneeling on the ground crying, shaking Ning Xu who was lying on the ground.

"Tang'er!" The second lady ran to Mo Tang anxiously, and seeing that Mo Tang was fine, she quickly turned her gaze to Ningxu, "Why are you still standing there! Go find a doctor!" The second lady scolded the servants behind her, and she hurriedly put her hands on Ningxu's chest and pressed it.

Mo Tang was still crying, "Mother...it was my fifth sister...she, she, pushed my sister down! Wuuuuu...my sister..."

Second Madam: "What did you say? Tang'er, did you see Mo Xi push Ru Meng down with your own eyes?"

Mo Tang: "Yes! Woohoo, I turned back the moment my sister fell down. It was my fifth sister!"

Second Madam: “Mo Xi…” Second Madam’s hands kept moving, but she was extremely angry in her heart.

The second lady pressed on Ningxu's chest and stomach for a long time, and her movements gradually became slower. Why did something seem wrong?

She had seen doctors rescue people who fell into the water before, and they pressed the water out in this way. Why didn't this child react at all?

The second lady stopped her hand in confusion and slowly put her ear in front of Ningxu's face.

Breathing steady...

The child didn't choke on the water! He either fainted or fell asleep.

The Second Madam finally let go of her worries, slumped down on the ground, and turned to comfort Mo Tang.

While waiting for the doctor to come, the second wife ordered someone to carry Ningxu back to Ningxu's room. After the doctor came, he found that Ningxu was not seriously ill, but she started to have a fever. He wrote a prescription for her and left.

When the doctor left, Zhu'er also ran back. She heard from the mistress that someone had reported that Ningxu had fallen into the water, and she was worried, so she asked for leave from the mistress. The mistress knew that the sisters were very close, so she didn't say anything.

The Second Lady and Zhu'er worked together to change the wet clothes, put on clean bedding, and tidied up the fluff.

"Zhu'er, take the prescription and take good care of her." The second lady handed the prescription to Zhu'er and turned to walk out the door.

The Second Lady rushed straight to Mo Xi's room. When she opened the door, she saw Mo Xi chatting and laughing with the Second Master.

"Madam, what's the matter?" Seeing that she looked unhappy, the second master hurried to greet her.

The Second Madam walked around the Second Master and went straight to Mo Xi. Mo Xi knew why she came and she shrank back involuntarily.

With a "pa" sound, Mo Xi and the Second Master in the room were shocked, and the Second Madam slapped Mo Xi in the face.

The Second Master was busy trying to care about Mo Xi's face, and then turned to ask the Second Madam, "Madam, why are you doing this?! Xi'er just went to make Tang'er happy today, and Xi'er is so sensible, your behavior is really inappropriate!"

Second Madam: "Why should I? Ha." Second Madam felt that her master was hopelessly stupid. "She made Tang'er happy, didn't she? Did she tell you that in person, or did you guess?"

Second Master: "Of course Xi'er said it herself. She played with Tang'er the whole morning today. Even for this reason, you shouldn't hit her!"

Second Lady: “Really?” The more she listened, the funnier it became. “Mo Xi, don’t you think so?” Second Lady looked at Mo Xi coldly.

Mo Xi still covered the place where he had just been hit with his hands, hiding timidly behind the Second Master, "I..."

The Second Madam shook her head in disappointment, "Mo Xi, you pushed Ru Meng into the lake today. Fortunately, Tang Er called for help in time and she was saved. Now she is in the room with a high fever. Hello, you are really your father's good daughter." The Second Madam became more and more angry, "You are a habitual liar and treat human life as worthless. How could I have a daughter like you? Huh? Speak!"

Mo Xi shuddered and became even more afraid to look at the Second Madam.

The second master finally realized that the truth seemed to be different from what Mo Xi said, "Xi'er, what on earth did you do in your mother's yard today?"

Mo Xi was just hesitating whether to tell the truth to win her father's sympathy or to deny it, when the Second Madam took over.

The Second Madam: "Don't call me mother. I don't recognize her as my daughter. She is unruly, willful and domineering. Now she is even thinking about murdering the servants. This is the good daughter you raised."
