Chapter 46 Colin's Family

Helen had no objection to passing by Colin's hometown on the way. There was still some time before school started, and at the current speed it would be enough to make it. A few days of delay was not a big deal.

Soon, Helen and her group entered the Redwood Forest Town.

The only nobleman in the town, Baron Lance, soon got the news and personally brought people to invite Helen and her party to visit his castle.

Colin was a little impatient as he was anxious to go home, but he also knew that he did not have much say in the face of the aristocratic forces in this world.

Looking at Helen's elegant figure, Lance's eyes lit up and he warmly invited Helen to have dinner with this noble lady from the Principality of Denton.

Looking at his expression, it is clear that for more than a year, Lance has not won the favor of Baroness Barbara.

Looking at Colin's anxious expression, Helen finally declined Baron Lance's invitation and prepared to accompany Colin home first, but she also promised to visit the castle when she returned.

Baron Lance left satisfied when he saw that the other party agreed to be his guest when he returned. He did not recognize Colin, the former farmer.

……

Xishan Village.

"Look, who is that? He looks like an important person." Seeing the arrival of Helen and Colin and their group, the villagers of Xishan Village talked about it.

"Look, that guy in front, isn't that the kid from old Kono's family?"

"Somewhat similar, but didn't that kid go missing?"

"What do you mean missing? It's just that the old Kono family doesn't know about it. It seems that no one knows where it was sold to a long time ago."

……

The villagers' voices were not loud, but as a professional, Colin's keen hearing enabled him to hear the villagers' conversation clearly. Looking at Matthew's teasing eyes, he smiled helplessly.

"That's how it is in the village. I'm sorry to have embarrassed you, Master Matthew."

"I'm not laughing at the villagers' conversation. I'm impressed by your growth rate. A farmer's child has grown into a professional in just one year. Although I don't know how you got the breathing method, I still admire your current achievements."

"Thank you, it was just a coincidence. Unlike Master Matthew, you are already a mid-level knight squire."

"How old am I? How old are you? When you are my age, you will definitely be stronger than me and have the potential to be on par with Master Alex."

I didn't expect Matthew to be so optimistic about me. However, Colin had already made up his mind to break through to the first level. The senior knight squire was just a scenery on the road, and he could just get past it.

……

"Old man, come quickly, take a look, is that our Colin?"

Seeing a large group of people walking towards her house through the gate, Mitti, who was washing clothes in the yard, shouted to Kono in the house.

"Who? Is that brat back?" Kono limped out and said.

Although he didn't want to admit it, the blood bond still made Colin's eyes moisten.

"Father, mother."

"You little brat, where have you been for so long? You didn't even say you would come back to see me and your mother." When Kono saw Colin, he limped up to him and slapped him.

"Why are you saying this? The child is not happy to come back." Mitty said, putting down the clothes in his hands.

"Yes, yes, go back to the house." Kono said.

"Don't worry, father, I will introduce you."

After hearing Colin's words, Kono realized that there was a group of people there watching their family.

"This is my employer, Miss Helen; this is the knight of Miss Helen's family, Lord Matthew; this is Miss Helen's maid Nora, who is also my, um, adopted sister."

Looking at the appearance of Helen and her group, "They might be nobles," Kono thought.

"Hello, Uncle Kono, don't listen to what Colin says about Miss or Sir. We are all Colin's friends." Helen stepped forward and said.

"Hello, Uncle Kono and Aunt Mitty." Nora greeted them warmly.

"Okay, all is good." Kono said happily with a grin.

"Why don't you see your sister Ella?"

"Your sister went to someone else's house to help spin yarn," said Mitty.

"Hurry, go and find Ella." Kono ordered Mitty.

"You guys take a seat first, I'll go find Ella."

Returning to the house, Helen looked at the furnishings, which were very ordinary. However, she said nothing and sat down casually, not even bothering about the dust on the stool.

Seeing that Helen didn't say anything, Colin felt relieved. He was really worried that this noble lady might have some kind of mysophobia.

"Please sit down, I'll go pour you some water." Kono said hurriedly.

"Father, please sit down. Let me do it." Colin quickly found the kettle based on his memory and poured water for Helen and the others.

……

"Brother, you're back." I heard Ella's voice before I entered the house.

Colin also stood up and looked at Ella.

"Brother." Soon, Ella threw herself into Colin's arms.

After the brother and sister hugged each other, Ella talked about the family's recent situation in the past year. Colin also briefly recounted his experiences over the past year, but did not mention anything about slaves. He just said that he used to help Baron Lance fight wars, and later served the August family, and is now employed by Miss Helen.

……

With the company of his family, Colin spent a few days of warmth and peace.

During this period, Nora and Ella became good friends. The lovely Nora was loved by old Curno and Mitty. Especially when they felt the little actions between Nora and Colin, the old couple were very happy and just waited to complete the employment of Miss Helen and find an opportunity to make this beautiful thing happen.

It’s not that Colin doesn’t want to spend more time with his family, but he knows that if he stays in the village, he will just waste his life.

The old couple knew their son's intentions and supported him in going out to explore the world, but only asked him to come back in the future.

She cried her heart out when she parted with her younger sisters Ella and Nora, and felt that they were closer to her than to herself.

Miss Helen's school term was approaching and she could not delay any longer, so she had to say goodbye to her parents and younger sister, and after leaving behind a considerable sum of money, she embarked on the road to empire.

……

When passing by the town, Baron Lance warmly received Helen and his party. After learning about the strength of Matthew and Colin, Lance was a little surprised. He immediately gave up some unspeakable thoughts and expressed that he would treat Colin's family well.

The lunch ended quickly. As a small local noble, Baron Lance had been domineering for so many years, but no one had made things difficult for him. It was because he knew how to behave himself and knew whom he could offend and whom he could not.

Soon, under Baron Lance's reluctant gaze, Helen, Colin and others left Redwood Town.

During this time, when passing by Happy Town, Colin left the team and went to Rock Village, John's hometown, to look for his brother Peter, but to no avail. The villagers said that he seemed to have gone to join the army and no one knew where he had gone.

"I can only repay John later," Colin thought.

Soon, Colin caught up with Helen's team and embarked on a new journey.
