Chapter 62 Academy Mission 5

Colin and his three companions walked into the road on the right and soon discovered the clue.

Unlike the other two roads, which are obviously mine tunnels with nothing special about them, the road on the right actually has traces of moss.

This was obviously unusual, and Colin and the others didn't believe that the previous batch of wizard apprentices hadn't noticed what was happening here.

The three of them were a little hesitant, not knowing whether they should continue or give up the mission.

Billy also felt a little uneasy. After all, the three wizards had stopped.

Although I am a slave, as long as I work hard at mining, having enough food is not a problem. In a few years, I want to find another female slave to have a child with. After all, only when I am alive can I have other things.

Looking at the unknown darkness ahead, Billy trembled a little.

Colin and the other two had no time to pay attention to Billy's emotions as they were still discussing whether to continue.

"I think we should continue walking for a while. No matter why the wizard apprentices ahead failed to complete the task, Mayor Lesta still met those apprentices. This shows that even if there is danger, it is not fatal." Conrad analyzed.

Colin looked at Connie and her brother. The three of them should be top-notch among the low-level wizard apprentices. After all, he also worked part-time as a mid-level knight squire. If the task was too difficult, it would definitely not be assigned to low-level wizard apprentices. It had to be at least mid-level.

Soon, the three of them made a decision to continue moving forward, and if they really encountered any danger, they would consider giving up the mission.

"Let's go," Colin told Billy.

It turned out that Billy didn't move for a long time.

Colin patted Billy.

"Ah...Sir." Billy was obviously a little scared.

"Let's go, Billy." Colin didn't promise Billy anything. After all, slaves were meant to be consumed.

After coming to this other world for several years, Colin's mentality is no longer the same as in his previous life. Slaves are no longer considered human beings.

Billy looked at the three wizards and knew that he had no choice. He couldn't run away. Even if he ran out of the mine, he would die. If these three adults could find the problem, perhaps he could make a contribution.

Just go ahead and do it.

Billy held the torch and continued walking forward.

The alley on the right is not like the previous two, which have ups and downs. This alley basically goes all the way down, and the more you go forward, the more moss there is on the road.

Suddenly, dark red bloodstains were found on the side wall.

"Wait a minute." Colin stopped Billy.

Colin touched the blood on the wall with his hand and smelled it. It should be human blood.

"It seems that we have found the right way." Colin said.

"Everyone be careful. If something goes wrong, be ready to evacuate at any time," Conrad said.

"Walk."

The four began to slow down, and Colin and the other two were ready to take action at any time.

The further they walked, the wider the alley ahead became. After walking for a few kilometers, the four of them discovered light ahead, and Colin instantly extinguished the torch in Billy's hand.

……

"Brauer, why is Chief Tarim so irritable lately? Is it because his women are having an affair or something? Several cavemen have been beaten." Nash asked.

"I don't know either. We have enough food recently, and nothing seems to have happened. I don't know why Chief Tarim has gone crazy." After saying that, he looked around and saw that there was no one around, so Brauer said carefully.

"What do you think? Could it be about the bodies of people from the ground world that they dragged back a few days ago?" Nash continued.

"Hey, it's really possible. Those people were involved in that incident." Brauer said.

"Well, you know what, it might really be that thing. It's really a pity that I haven't tasted what it's like to be a human on the ground." Nash said.

"Don't even think about it. I think Chief Tarim might not want to provoke the people on the ground either."

……

After looking at the two cavemen for a while, Colin and his two companions seemed to have no strength from their appearance. They felt that they could kill them easily. The three of them had not yet learned the witchcraft of understanding languages, and did not hear what the two cavemen said.

Colin waved his hand and stepped back a distance with Connie, her siblings and Billy.

After stopping, the three discussed whether to continue.

Obviously, if we go further down, we should be able to find out the whereabouts of the missing slaves, but it is also possible to go back and report now. I think it must be the underground creatures that captured the slaves.

The three of them were somewhat hesitant. From the information they had observed, the cave dwellers did not have any powerful military force, so if they encountered danger, retreat would not be a problem. If they just went back like this, even if they could complete the mission, they probably would not get 100 merit points.

After discussion, the three decided to continue, but this time they kept Billy and told him to go back to the intersection first. If the three did not come back after a few hours, he would have completed the mission and could return to the ground.

Billy kowtowed happily and ran away.

……

Although the light spell was not released, it did not affect the progress of the three people.

All three of them are low-level wizard apprentices. Their mental strength is much higher than that of ordinary people, and their vision in the dark is also much better than that of ordinary people.

Soon, Colin and the other two returned to where they had stopped.

Looking at the two cavemen still talking on both sides of the alley not far away, the three of them signaled with their eyes, Colin and Conrad rushed out, and Connie also began to release fireballs.

Nash and Brauer were chatting when they suddenly saw a flash of fire. Before they could do anything, they saw two dark shadows rushing towards them. They were controlled before they could resist.

"What bad luck! This must be someone on the ground." Nash thought.

"Don't eat me, I'm not tasty. Eat Nash instead." Brauer shouted for mercy.

"I&" Nash was speechless.

Colin and the other two didn't understand what the two cavemen were saying, but judging from their expressions, they were probably begging for mercy.

After some laborious hand gestures, Nash and the other man guessed that the humans on the ground wanted them to lead the way.

The two men had their mouths blocked, their hands tied, their weapons (wooden guns) thrown casually on the ground, and were forced forward by Colin and Conrad.

The alley was not dark, and glowing fungi could be seen everywhere. The road ahead was still downhill, but there were already rudiments of steps, making it easier to walk.

After walking for about ten kilometers, the three of them came out of the alley. Below them was a very wide plain. Because of the light, they couldn't see clearly where the specific boundary was. In the distance, there seemed to be a lot of busy figures, probably some cave dwellers.

Looking back, there was a hole pointing upwards behind.

The three became more alert. This was obviously another "world" where a large number of other species lived.

Nash and Brauer returned to the underground world and felt a little relaxed. After all, their chances of survival were much greater in their own territory. They just didn't know whether the three surface humans would continue to move forward. The two of them were heading towards the gathering place of the tribe.

When Colin and the other two saw this huge underground scene, they felt that there would be no problem in completing the mission, so they planned to retreat.

"Are those our human friends from the surface?" a voice came from a distance.
