Colin had been walking in the desert for a day.

After a pause, Colin asked the question he had been wanting to ask, "What's your name?"

Edith glanced at Colin, and when Colin thought she wasn't going to answer, she said, "Edith."

"Hello." Colin extended his right hand.

Edith took a step back. "Trying to take advantage of me again?" she thought to herself.

Edith walked around and sat down with Colin across the small fire.

In the quiet night, having someone to talk to made her feel much more comfortable instantly. Although Edith didn't want to care more about Colin, it was better to have someone accompany her than to be alone.
