The Witcher: Son of the Planes.
Chapter 91: Puxilai Secret Realm 4
Colin only carried Edith for one day, and by the evening, Edith was able to walk on her own.
Although Colin has good physical strength, carrying a person for a whole day is tiring enough.
No living creatures can be seen during the day, so it is estimated that there will be signs of biological activity only at night.
Fortunately, Colin and Edith were just traveling during the day. When they were tired, they would take a rest, eat some dried meat they brought with them, and drink some water balls made by Edith. They spent the day without any trouble.
Colin didn't have much kerosene left. After all, this stuff was prepared a long time ago to increase the power of spells, and he didn't expect to use it here.
But it should be enough for tonight.
Colin had been traveling all day and had no time to think about any beautiful scenes, but due to the close contact between the two along the way, he could still feel Edith's plump and upright figure.
Sitting around the fire with Edith, Colin and Edith talked about some past experiences, and Edith just continued Colin's words in a casual manner.
Their dinner consisted of the dried meat Colin brought with him, and the remaining sand scorpion from the morning had already been eaten by the two of them.
Colin had only enough food to last the two of them until tomorrow morning.
During the day, the two of them contacted their respective teammates. Edith's teammates didn't seem to care much about the team competition and they haven't gathered together yet. Maybe they want to take advantage of various opportunities to gain experience.
On Colin's side, the other people have gathered together, but they are still some distance away from Colin.
According to Colin's estimation, it would take at least four days to get out of the desert.
It seems that if I can’t find anything to eat, I will have to starve for several days.
Colin and his friends didn't find a suitable place sheltered from the wind, so Colin used the Earth Wall spell to gather a wall of sand, and Edith used the Freezing spell to reinforce the lower wall.
Colin lit the fire. This time Edith did not sit facing the fire with Colin, but sat three fists away from Colin.
A lot of things had happened, and the two of them had come into contact a lot, so there wasn't much point in deliberately staying so far away from each other.
This is what Edith thought.
"Are all you Northern witches so lonely?" Colin asked.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Didn't you say that your teammates haven't gathered yet? Unlike us at Griman Academy, except for me who is far away, everyone else has gathered."
"Well, it's just a different inheritance. There's no such thing as being lonely or not. Everyone's strength is about the same, and no one wants to be led by anyone else."
"Well, what are your plans after you get out?" Colin continued.
"I don't have any plans. I'll just go wherever I can. As long as I can gain some experience, that's good enough."
"Then we should work together. I feel like we work well together and should be able to get a lot of points."
Edith gave Colin a noncommittal look.
"Well, that's it." Colin said happily when he saw that Edith had no objection.
"Does this guy have any bad intentions?" Edith wondered.
The flames gradually died down, and Colin poured some kerosene on them again.
After a tiring day, Colin didn't want to say anything more. He decided to rest early. After all, without good physical strength, how could he cope with the rest of the journey?
"Let's go to bed." Colin said, and he also felt something was wrong.
"I mean, let's take a rest. We have to travel tomorrow." He explained again.
"Ah."
After saying that, Edith lay down first, but one step away from Colin.
Colin looked at Edith and lay down directly.
"Does this count as sleeping in the same bed?" Colin thought as he lay on the sand, except that this "bed" was ridiculously large.
Perhaps Colin had a feeling that no creatures would attack tonight, so he didn't suggest keeping vigil.
……
There was no conversation that night, and the two slept until dawn.
Colin's consciousness gradually returned. In a daze, he felt that he had grasped something. It felt soft. Well, the touch was good. Colin grabbed another handful.
"what"
Edith felt something warm kneading her chest until Colin increased his strength and Edith woke up. When she woke up, she found that it was Colin's hand and she screamed out.
After Edith sat up, she slapped Colin in the face and said, "Shameless."
"Snapped!"
"Uh……"
Colin had already woken up when Edith screamed, but their postures were too ambiguous. Edith bent over and lay in Colin's arms with her back leaning against him. The hand that Colin had just used grabbed Edith's chest.
No wonder it felt like that. Facing the slap from Edith, Colin was still savoring it and had no time to dodge. Besides, it didn't feel very strong, so Colin didn't even think about dodging.
Colin also sat up, but he looked at the position of the fire and then at Edith. "It doesn't look like he took the initiative."
Edith also noticed Colin's gaze and made a simple analysis, "Huh? Did you lean over by yourself? Even so, you can't just touch me here casually."
"Humph! This guy is just a filthy person, subconsciously thinking about taking advantage of others."
Edith felt that no matter what, Colin was definitely wrong.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I was unconscious and didn't mean to offend you." Colin apologized.
"You're not sincere at all. Never mind. I'll let you go this time. But if you do this again next time, be careful or I'll stab you to death with an ice pick." Edith said fiercely, waving her little fist.
Seeing that Edith was so cute even when she was angry, Colin laughed out loud.
"Laugh again, laugh again." Edith said and started to twist Colin's body.
"hiss……"
"Is this a natural skill of girls? Do they all have this skill?"
"Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Ms. Edith, please let me go. I won't dare to do it again."
Only after seeing that Colin really had the attitude to admit his mistake did Edith stop.
After a night's rest, Edith was in better condition than yesterday and was almost back to her pre-injured state.
After eating and drinking, the two set out on their journey again.
The desert is always covered with yellow sand. From time to time, the wind with the smell of sand blows on the two people, leaving a lot of sand.
Edith no longer wasted mana on cleaning. It would be more economical to use that mana to cast a water ball spell.
Under the scorching heat above their heads, the two supported each other and walked with one foot deep and one foot shallow. The food was gone, and only the water balls made by Edith were barely providing some support for the two to maintain their strength while walking.
Suddenly, the two found that there was something under the sand in the distance rushing towards them.
