A ragged cub at the beginning

Chapter 39: Little Girl, Run

Tang Xu hurriedly handed the board over and worked with the guest to install the last board. The two of them breathed a sigh of relief, and before they had even let go of the board, the board was kicked by someone outside the door, with such force that their palms went numb.

The man holding the sword was probably a guard. He pointed the sword at the male guest and asked, "Where's the back door?"

"I don't know. This, this, this is not my shop." He raised his hands, his voice trembling.

The guard glanced at Tang Xu and didn't think she was the boss. Instead, he looked at the vertical screen. He just heard some noise behind him. He walked over and stopped in front of the screen, just about to lift his leg.

"Stop! I don't have a back door!" Tang Xu yelled. If she kicked over, the mother and son behind would be injured. She rushed over and pushed the screen aside, revealing the mother and son shivering inside. "My shop doesn't have a back door, but the wall here looks like it was installed later. You can try kicking here." Tang Xu pointed to the corner. She wasn't talking nonsense. There was originally a door shape there, and the lime painted on it looked like it was newly added later. She thought it was ugly, so she painted two thick layers here to make the color consistent.

The guard glanced at her. The wooden board had already cracked. There was no time to waste. "You better not lie to me." He took two steps over and kicked at the spot where Tang Xu pointed. The sound of the bricks falling was like the sound of nature.

King Jin looked at the girl who remained calm in the face of danger, with some admiration in his eyes. Then he followed the guards out of the hole in the wall. The door panel made a harsh clicking sound, and there were sounds of people kicking the door outside and something hitting the door.

"Hurry up!" Tang Xu pulled the woman and child in the family of three, and then crawled in through the hole in the wall.

Behind the wall is a yard with a vegetable garden.

"Two people ran out of the shop over there and the wall was smashed! I didn't lie to you!" A middle-aged woman came out pulling a man and ran into Tang Xu and his companions.

Both groups of people were stunned. Tang Xu recognized the man, who was the one who rented the shop to her before. But there was no time to explain. She ran towards the gate while saying, "Run first, there is a killer behind us!"

When the couple heard this, they panicked and ran after him.

They ran all the way to the street, which was now empty, with no one in sight and every household's doors and windows closed. Their group was too conspicuous, so Tang Xu identified the direction and ran towards his home, with several people following closely behind him.

She shouted, "Why are you following me? I'm going home! Go back to your own homes!"

The three members of the family woke up as if from a dream and ran in another direction. The couple still followed them, and the man said, "You brought the killer to my house! Where do you want me to go?"

Tang Xu's throat choked, "I didn't bring that! I'm also a victim!"

Turning back to Guixiang Street from the back, Tang Xu almost vomited from the smell of blood. The ground was covered with a red carpet of blood, and there were broken limbs and bodies everywhere. There were ordinary people, guards, and assassins in black. Some people even fell in front of their own shops. There were still a few guards and the black-clad assassins fighting. The black-clad assassins wanted to enter Tang Xu's shop to chase people, but were stopped by the guards at all costs.

Tang Xu leaned against the wall and retched a few times, his legs felt weak. The couple behind him screamed, and the people fighting turned their heads. A man in black came running towards them with a bloody knife.

What is this for! I'm just a passer-by! Why are you killing me! I didn't say that! Tang Xu complained, thinking that he should roll to the side to avoid it, but his body didn't obey, and he saw the knife was about to hit his head. A short man in black rushed up and kicked the knife away, "Get out!"

The voice sounded familiar, but Tang Xu didn't have time to think about it. He ran home as fast as he could. Tang Ling was at home! He would be safe when he got home!

Tang Xu had never run so fast before. She rushed into the courtyard gate and was about to close it with her backhand when the couple followed her and shouted, "Let us in!"

The three of them walked in and leaned against the door, breathing heavily.

"What's going on? What happened outside?" Yu Xiaotao walked up quickly, holding Tang Xu's hand and asked.

"There's a fight going on outside, and people are killing each other. It's so scary. Don't go out!" Tang Xu calmed himself down and asked Tang Ling.

Qi Qing took Qiyue out and pointed to the backyard, saying, "I saw the eldest girl jump out from the backyard."

"Ah?" Tang Xu's heart, which had just settled down, began to lift again. She locked the gate behind her. "I wonder how Sister Wan and the others are doing. Are they back?"

"I didn't hear anything." Yu Xiaotao shook her head.

When Fang Zijun heard this, his face wrinkled up, "What's wrong? What happened to my parents?"

"It's okay, don't worry." Tang Xu hugged him, afraid that he would suddenly run out. "Come into the hall and close the door."

Although he knew that this would be useless if someone really came, he just regarded it as a comfort to himself and locked the door.

Several children snuggled up to her uneasily, especially Fang Zijun, who had his eyebrows and nose wrinkled, with tears welling up in his eyes.

“Brother Dandan…” July didn’t know how to comfort her little friend, so she could only hug him.

I don't know what's going on outside. Who saved her just now? The voice sounded familiar, and the figure looked familiar. Where did Tang Ling go? Did the prince escape? Will she be in trouble? Tang Xu's mind was in a mess, and the more she thought about it, the more anxious she became. She remembered the first time she was chased. At that time, her body reacted automatically. Why didn't it work today? Was it because the original owner hadn't disappeared completely when she just came here? Or was it because she hadn't practiced martial arts since she came here, so her conditioned reflex was gone?

After a while, the children couldn't wait any longer. Du Jiarui twisted his chubby little body and poked Fang Zijun's arm.

Fang Zijun ignored him, so he poked him twice more.

"Du Tangyuan! What are you doing?" Fang Zijun dodged him and said a little angrily.

Du Jiarui pursed his lips and said, "Why don't you guys say anything? I'm a little scared."

Tang Xu came back to her senses, looking at the tense adults, and she herself felt that the atmosphere was not very comfortable. She took out a few small sketchbooks she had cut out from the house, gave each child a pen, and asked them to draw for fun.

Four children were crowded together on the table, drawing. Their attention was distracted, but they soon became happy again, looking at each other's drawings and commenting on them.

I don't know how long it took, maybe a long time, maybe just a moment. Tang Ling walked out from the backyard and saw two strangers. He frowned slightly and said to Tang Xu, "Come here."

Tang Xu followed her into the room without knowing why. There was a young man in black lying on the floor, his face covered with a scarf. There was an unignorable smell of blood in the room. She wrinkled her nose, "Who is this?"

"Tang Qing." Tang Ling pulled off her veil, revealing a face she had only seen a few days ago.

"What happened to him? Is he hurt?" Tang Xu leaned over to take a look. There were some dark spots on his clothes that looked like they were stained with water. He didn't know if they were bloodstains.

"I'm injured and poisoned, so I may have to stay here for a few days." Tang Ling said.

"Oh, do you want to apply medicine to him? I'll go boil some warm water." Although this guy wanted to kill her the first time they met, she would not object if Tang Ling wanted to save him. Tang Ling was her family, and she believed that Tang Ling would not let him hurt her.

"No matter what, he won't die." Tang Ling used his toes to pull Tang Qing over and said, "Detoxify him and let him go when he wakes up."

Tang Xu glanced at Tang Qing and confirmed that she was serious. He couldn't help but sympathize with Tang Qing and whispered: "Since she's been rescued, why don't you take care of her? The blood is all over the place. Not only is it dirty, but it also smells bad."

Tang Ling thought about it and realized that this smell was indeed pungent after not smelling it for a long time. "Then go get some water."

Tang Xu responded and went to the kitchen. The best thing about Yu Xiaotao being here is that there is always hot water. She filled a basin with warm water and turned back to meet four pairs of curious eyes. She almost spilled the water. "What are you four doing? Are you a ghost?"

"Aunt Xu, what are you doing?" Fang Zijun asked.

"Is aunt back?" July asked.

"I saw a dark person in my aunt's room!" said Du Jiarui.

"Lying on the ground! Is he dead?" Zhao Yunniang shuddered as she spoke, as if she was frightened by her own words.

Yu Xiaotao followed and laughed dryly, wanting to take the children away. She also took a curious look, but she was not as direct as the children, so she asked. "Get out of the way, Aunt Xu has something to do, I'll take you to play something else."

"My sister saved a child. I'll get some water to treat his wound." Tang Xu explained, and walked around the children to go to the room. Tang Ling had already stripped Tang Qing naked, leaving only a pair of shorts.

Just as she was about to close the door, four little guys had already come in, squatting beside Tang Qing and surrounding him. They even discussed in a low voice: "He is so white!" Du Jiarui said.

"Oh my! Why isn't he wearing any clothes? He's so shy!" Zhao Yunniang covered her eyes. If the gaps between her fingers weren't too wide, Tang Xu would have really believed that she was shy.

"He's injured and bleeding a lot. He looks like he's going to die." Du Jiarui said as he poked the wound that was slowly oozing blood. As a result, a stream of blood spurted out from the wound with a "puff".

"Jiarui! You stabbed him to death!" Zhao Yunniang shouted and grabbed Du Jiarui's hand.

Fang Zijun silently withdrew his hand. Fortunately, he was slow and did not poke it.

Du Jiarui's eyes suddenly filled with tears and he cried and said sorry.

"There's so much blood." July whispered.

Tang Ling sighed helplessly, picked up the small potatoes one by one, carried them out of the room and closed the door.

Tang Xu felt sympathy for Tang Qing, and was amused by the children, so his expression was a little distorted for a moment.

Tang Ling had no other thoughts, so he wrung out the handkerchief and wiped the blood off his body. Tang Xu changed two basins of water in the middle, and no one mentioned helping Tang Qing to the bed. It was too dirty, bloody, and smelly.

When Tang Qing woke up, all the wounds on his body had been bandaged and applied with medicine. He leaned against the wall, and the cold air coming from the wall made him shiver. He endured the pain and got up with a grimace. He heard the sound of a child talking outside. It sounded like he had not been weaned yet, and the ending of the voice was soft and dragging, as if he was acting coquettish. Tang Qing sneered. He had not spoken like that since he was three years old!

The door was opened and everyone in the room turned around. Tang Qing almost couldn't help but close the door.

"Ah! Why aren't you wearing any clothes yet!" Zhao Yunniang covered her eyes, "Shame on you!"

Tang Qing was stunned. He looked down at the chest that was wrapped so tightly that no flesh could be seen. What difference does it make whether he wears it or not? It's so hypocritical! He won't wear it! He frowned and asked, "Who are you?"

July was stunned for a moment, "I am July."

"You're in our house, and you're asking who we are!" Zhao Yunniang pointed at him with her hands on her hips, "You're still not wearing any clothes! You're a bad guy! No, you're a bad boy!"

Fang Zijun looked at him. This brother looked so handsome. "Who are you?"

"He's not dead." Du Jiarui said as he patted his chest, as if he was relieved.

"Come back and stand in horse stance." Tang Ling hit the porch column with the wooden stick in his hand. With a crisp "snap" sound, the four quails came back and stood up with their necks shrunk.

"You saved me?" Tang Qing asked with his chin raised.

Tang Ling didn't even look at him and said, "Get out when you wake up."

Tang Qing felt a little wronged. He was very happy when he woke up and found that his wound had been treated. Since his brother passed away, no one has taken care of him anymore.

"Hey, why are you crying?" Tang Xu came out of the room rubbing her wrist, and saw Tang Qing with her mouth pouted and eyes wide open. She had seen this look countless times, and several children always had this expression before they started to cry. The next second, they would open their mouths and raise their necks to start howling. She was so scared that she quickly said, "Don't cry, don't cry, does your wound hurt?"

"Who's going to cry?" Tang Qing didn't want to cry at first, but when he was asked this question, his nose started to ache as if it was hit by something, and tears were about to fall. He turned around and ran back to the room, and as soon as he closed the door, he grinned and silently shed tears. They are all bad guys!

"What's going on? Who made him cry?" Tang Xu was confused.

"It's my aunt!" Du Jiarui answered quickly. He even had a stern face and imitated the words in a flat tone, "Get out when you wake up. That's how the brother got sad and started crying."

Not to mention, he learned it quite well. Tang Xu covered his mouth with his fist and laughed.

"Want to be beaten?" Tang Ling raised the wooden stick in his hand.

"I, I," Du Jiarui dodged back and stiffened his neck, "I'm telling the truth. You won't be beaten if you tell the truth! My uncle said so! People should dare to tell the truth! Tell the truth!"

Tang Ling was so angry that he lost his temper and said in a hoarse voice: "Stand still! Don't sway!"

Fang Zijun and the others wanted to laugh but didn't dare to. They pursed their lips tightly, but they couldn't help it and made a series of "puffing" sounds, as if they were collectively farting.

Tang Xu was stunned at first, then he burst into laughter and almost fell to the ground.

Tang Ling had never seen such a scene before. She wanted to be angry, but she couldn't. She couldn't help but smile.

This really made the two adults and four children laugh so hard that they held their stomachs.

Tang Xu kept shouting for help and couldn't stop even if he wanted to.

Qi Qing came out of the room. She didn't want to laugh, but her laughter seemed to be contagious. Yu Xiaotao was not immune to it either. Tang Qing cried even more sadly in the room.

The couple who had been in trouble were listening to the noise in the classroom. They looked at each other and wondered if there was something wrong with this family. What were they laughing at?

Tang Xu was laughing when she suddenly remembered something. The voice of the man who saved her on the street just now was exactly the same as Tang Qing's! His figure was also similar! It turned out that he was the one who saved her!
