As Manager Liang successfully completed the public relations task and left, we had spent two long weeks in this insurance company. However, despite our investment of a lot of time and energy, the data extraction work still made no progress. This dilemma made both companies begin to realize that the root of the problem may not be whether the public relations work is in place, but that the difficulty of extracting data from this insurance system is beyond imagination, and even the director of the information department is helpless.

Manager Cai, as the project manager of this insurance project, was supposed to take on the responsibility of sorting out the data and business logic, and then hand over the clear tasks to us for development. But faced with this complex system, he seemed at a loss. That day, he hurriedly found us, stuffed all the database tables he got from Director Tian into our hands, and instructed us to filter out the data we needed from these densely packed tables.

This sudden task made us feel stressed because we all knew that these tasks were supposed to be completed by the project manager. I expressed my doubts to Manager Cai, but he just hurriedly said that he had to go back to the company to deal with some matters and would come back to continue working. In this way, he left us in H City and hurried back to the company.

Tianzi and I looked at each other with confusion and bewilderment. We were at a loss as to what to do with the confusing and confusing data. In the following period of time, we frequently visited this insurance company, racking our brains to try to find some clues from the vast ocean of data.

However, the database was too large and too complex! There were countless tables, and we spent several days looking through all the tables. Not only were the tables so similar in appearance that it was difficult to tell them apart, but the amount of data contained in them was staggering!

Later, I learned from Director Tian that the database might not need much maintenance on a daily basis, so there was no detailed structural description for reference. This undoubtedly made our already difficult investigation work even more difficult!

Faced with such a difficult situation, after careful consideration, I resolutely accepted Lei Zi's suggestion: put aside the tedious affairs at hand and wait for Manager Cai's return. Fortunately, the insurance company was very thoughtful. Not only did they thoughtfully prepare a comfortable residence for us to rest, but they also generously provided three meals a day. This undoubtedly brought us a touch of warmth and comfort in a foreign land, allowing us to take a breath and gradually adapt to this new and unfamiliar environment.

Lei Zi seemed to be born with the ability to adapt to any situation. He quickly integrated into the rhythm of life here. The thing he looked forward to most every day was to enjoy the mouth-watering canteen meal at noon. I couldn't refute this. The canteen food of this insurance company was indeed unique. Every dish exuded an alluring aroma, which always stimulated my taste buds and aroused my fond memories of Xiaoxia's cooking skills. Perhaps it was because this place was adjacent to Xiaoxia's hometown that the chefs in the canteen skillfully integrated the unique flavor of Xiaoxia's hometown in the cooking process, thus concocting these unforgettable delicacies.

In this way, our life was so leisurely. We either ate or slept every day, and occasionally went to the insurance company to check the data.

However, on this day, the hotel room phone suddenly rang. This phone had not rang since we checked in, so we didn't take it seriously. But today's sudden ring really surprised us and made us a little curious.

The phone was right next to Lei Zi's bed, and he picked it up. I listened to him speak for a few sentences, and his voice gradually became excited: "Okay, come over, we have two people here. Oh, two people can come together? That's great, and you can choose the type, I want a bunny girl."

I looked at Lei Zi curiously, put down the book in my hand, and asked in surprise: "Lei Zi, who is it? What are you talking about? Why have you been talking for so long?"

He hung up the phone, turned around, and said with a smug smile: "Hi, it's the hotel service."

"Hotel service? Talking for so long?" I was even more puzzled.

"It's that kind of special hotel service." He came close to me and looked at me with an "you know" look, and I immediately understood what he meant.

My eyes widened and I asked in surprise, "You're not really going to let her come over?"

"Well, that seems to be the case." He scratched his head, a little embarrassed.

"What should we do if she really comes?" I asked nervously.

"I...I didn't think about it. I just thought it was fun and agreed to it." He stammered.

"Fuck, you really are..." I shook my head helplessly, "What if they really come later?"

"Oh, yes, it really comes, what should we do?" He also started to panic.

"You know you're anxious now. What were you doing just now? You even asked others to role-play with you. I see you've been idle these days." I blamed him.

"It's over, it's over. How about I call her back?" he asked anxiously.

"Why don't you hurry up?" I urged.

He picked up the phone, but then put it down again, turned to me and asked, "Who should I call? There's no phone number on it."

"Call the front desk first and ask if they can get through," I suggested.

"Oh, yes, yes." He nodded repeatedly and quickly dialed the front desk.

After a while, he put down the phone and said with a frustrated look: "The front desk said they don't know the other party's phone number, and they don't have the other party's contact information. What should I do, Mr. Wang?"

"You are anxious now, what were you doing just now?" I blamed him again.

"I just agreed for fun. Now I regret it. My girlfriend is waiting for me to get married at home, and I have to remain a virgin for her." He said with a wry smile.

"Hey, stop disgusting me. Why does it feel so uncomfortable to hear this word coming out of your mouth? Hurry up and put on your clothes and run away." I urged.

"Ah? Oh, yes, yes, let's run." He put on his clothes hurriedly, and the two of us ran out of the guest room in a panic and simply went shopping in H City.

"Teacher Wang, we've been walking outside for a long time. When are we going back?" Lei Zi asked.

"I don't know where they are coming from. If the road is far, I don't know how they will scold you at the door. Why don't you go back and check first. If there is no one there, tell me." I suggested.

"Well, forget it. Let's just walk around for a while." He was obviously a little scared.

We wandered around outside for a while, and since it was getting late, we decided to go home. When we returned to the guest room, no one was there, and it didn't look like anyone had been there. Maybe someone knocked on the door and no one opened it, so they went back a long time ago, we comforted each other.

But Lei Zi seemed to be still immersed in the phone call. He was searching on his computer for something that could make up for his regrets. I heard something strange coming from his computer and looked at the computer in his hand. It turned out that this guy had collected so many secret things in his computer. He introduced his collection to me with great interest.

Seeing Lei Zi's excited face, I couldn't help but laugh. He actually found a video about bunny girls and started watching it. He was so absorbed in it that it seemed as if the male protagonist in the video had become himself. I couldn't help but wonder if I shouldn't have asked him to leave.

A few days later, one morning, the company's phone call broke the silence. The voice of the company's human resources department came from the other end of the phone, notifying Lei Zi and I to evacuate as soon as possible and return to the company headquarters. This news caught both of us off guard, but we also realized that this long-term overseas project was finally coming to an end.

After returning to the company, Lei Zi couldn't wait to find out about Manager Cai. He used his own channels and soon found out that Manager Cai had resigned. He guessed that this might be because Manager Cai was difficult to manage this project and finally had to resign on his own initiative. This result was both unexpected and reasonable for us. After all, the complexity and challenges of this project exceeded our expectations.

During my conversation with Lei Zi, I learned the main source of his information. It turned out to be an administrative specialist in the HR department. She had a close relationship with the HR director and was always able to get all kinds of information from the company first. Moreover, this administrative specialist was a young and beautiful woman who had a good impression of Lei Zi, the handsome old man. Therefore, she often took the initiative to chat with Lei Zi and share some of the latest developments in the company.

After returning to the company this time, I unexpectedly found that the title on my work badge had changed to manager. I was surprised and moved. It seems that the information from the administrative specialist was relatively accurate. Lei Zi told me about this before the business trip. I know that this change in title is not only a recognition of my past work, but also an expectation for my future work. At the same time, I also understand that this position means more responsibilities and challenges, and I need to work harder to be competent.

However, the progress of the insurance project did not stop. Faced with the challenge, the boss successfully contacted a new insurance company with his extensive network of contacts. This time, our system is not only for a single customer group, but also for a large number of insurance agents. This means that our application must be able to be successfully installed and run on mobile phones of different brands and models. This is a difficult and complex task. For me, it is both a huge challenge and a rare opportunity to exercise.

In previous projects, I deeply realized the limitations of system controls on some knockoff phones. Therefore, I decided to take an unconventional approach and abandon the system's built-in controls in favor of a more flexible and compatible solution. I recalled a UI system I wrote in my spare time when I first arrived at the company. This UI system was based on canvas drawing, and I was well aware of the graphics rendering and drawing capabilities of these knockoff phones. So, I decided to apply this UI system to our insurance project and redraw all commonly used controls through drawing.

This process was full of challenges, but also brought unexpected rewards. By drawing the controls myself, I not only solved the compatibility issues between different mobile phones, but also made the interface more beautiful and more in line with our brand image. Each control was carefully designed, and every detail was perfect. With the joint efforts of my team members and I, we successfully applied this UI system to the insurance project.

In this project, I received great support from an experienced project manager. He was like a senior monk. Although his hair was thin, his wisdom shone like his bald head. I jokingly called him "monk", but he didn't care and accepted the title with a smile. Under his guidance, we successfully completed the system development work.

However, development is only the first step, and rigorous testing is required. In order to ensure that the product can be launched stably, the company specially hired a new test manager and re-activated the test department. Since the company's previous test equipment was limited and mostly old models, we decided to adopt a more direct and more effective method - on-site real machine testing.

We mobilized all the idle personnel in the company to go to major mobile phone stores and dealers to seek cooperation. They expressed their willingness to provide real phones for us to test. During the test, we found all kinds of strange problems. Some phones will have random errors when calling the system's built-in input method; some phones will crash under certain operations; and some phones have subtle differences in interface display. These problems may seem insignificant, but they may affect the user's normal usage experience.

During the large-scale test, I magically discovered a messy mobile phone brand called Nokia. The performance of the phone was very poor. I suspected it was a copycat of a well-known brand. If you didn't look carefully, you would really think it was a Nokia. This made me feel confused when I looked at the test report they fed back. The data reported by the tester for the model that had been tested was abnormal. So I decided to follow the tester to the site, only to find out when I got there that he was testing this kind of imitation product that was one letter different.

We did not back down in the face of these problems. Instead, we became more determined to solve them. We worked closely with testers to develop detailed solutions for each problem. For those problems with knockoff or counterfeit models, we conducted in-depth research and solved them without hesitation. After more than a month of hard work, we finally successfully solved all the problems and ensured the stable launch of the software.

But for some unknown reason, the company hired a new manager, Ma, to be in charge of project advancement for this insurance project. As a result, the monk had less work to do and only had to take charge of the backend programs.

Manager Ma was very pretentious after joining the company. Within two days, he hired two beautiful female assistants to accompany him. The female assistants' tasks were to take meeting minutes and make tea for him. In fact, this project is just waiting to be launched and there is no need for meetings. However, the new Manager Ma likes to hold meetings. Since his arrival, our department has been holding meetings non-stop. He is very talkative in every meeting, but I never knew what he talked about in the meetings.
