Hogwarts: The Savior's Strong Cousin
Chapter 21 The Wizard's Best Christmas Gift - Alloy Brass Knuckles
Dudley looked at the gift in front of him with a mixture of laughter and tears.
The first was a sweater from Ron's mother, Mrs. Molly Weasley, and, like Harry's, a large box of fudge.
There was a large letter "D" embroidered on the navy blue sweater. Although Ron said that "the style was too old-fashioned", Dudley and Harry, who also received the sweater, were very happy and couldn't wait to put it on.
The second item was a small knife given by Hagrid. It was made by him, but it might also be the tool used to make Harry's flute. Dudley didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he still put it on his belt - Hagrid was thoughtful enough to make a scabbard for it.
The third gift was for his parents. During the period of school enrollment, Dudley wrote a lot of letters to his family, so even if Vernon was hostile to wizards and didn't understand them, he couldn't send a bunch of remote-controlled airplanes and other children's toys like in previous years. Instead, he sent a few very good quality close-fitting sports shirts, a pair of boxing gloves, and a pair of alloy brass knuckles customized according to Dudley's requirements.
"What is this? A Muggle spellcasting tool?"
Ron was a little confused, but the shiny metallic luster of the brass knuckles still made him curious and unable to take his eyes away.
"almost."
Dudley evaded the question vaguely.
And Harry looked at the letter from his uncle and aunt with surprise.
"We received your letter and enclosed a Christmas present for you."
A pair of titanium eyeglass frames.
Harry was a little flattered. He knew that this was all because of Dudley's kindness. Otherwise, he would probably only give a fifty-pence coin - and that was if there was no smaller denomination than it.
And it was very likely that Dudley had asked for it.
"Thanks, cousin, and Merry Christmas."
Dudley accepted Harry's hug and punched him lightly on the head.
Christmas is a holiday for receiving gifts, at least in Hogwarts, everyone holds gifts of varying sizes in their hands, and students also give gifts to each other.
Hermione gave him a large box of liquorice wands, and incidentally, he gave Harry and Ron chocolate frogs and Beebe Every Flavour Beans, respectively.
Neville gave a wool scarf that he had knitted himself and the finished product looked very good.
Dudley gave them gifts in return. He didn't want to use his cousin's Galleons, so he took out the pounds he had secretly earned from participating in underground boxing matches and bought some Muggle supplies.
This was an opportunity he got after asking around in Surrey when he had just mastered the "mastery of boxing". With his amazing skills and a physique that was no less than that of an adult, he easily earned hundreds of pounds.
After all, the value of a gift lies in the thought behind it rather than the price.
As for Harry, needless to say, the magical invisibility cloak was enough for the two little boys to have fun.
The banquet was extremely sumptuous. Most of the adults, including Headmaster Dumbledore, were drunk, and the children also ate and drank to their heart's content. Dudley even openly performed "a turkey in three bites" at the request of the majority of Gryffindor teachers and students. The entire Hogwarts hall was filled with happy laughter and applause.
Including the Slytherin side.
Dudley did not have any special opinions about the people in Serpentine Yard. In fact, logically speaking, Slytherin could not be considered as villains. It was just that their way of doing things, compared to these underage passionate teenagers, was tinged with selfishness and sinisterness, which naturally made some people dislike them, especially the reckless men of Gryffindor.
For example, the one Dudley knew, Horace Slughorn, was a standard Slytherin in the positive sense.
Cunning, proud, shrewd, resourceful, able to protect himself according to the circumstances, and with a determination that is no less courageous than that of Gryffindor, it is not so much that Dudley and Slytherin do not get along, but rather that he simply has a dislike for the Malfoy trio.
After eating and drinking, Dudley returned to the dormitory with the students. He had no intention of joining Harry's evening mirror-looking activity.
To be honest, he was a little afraid of the Mirror of Erised.
After all, this magical mirror can see "what you want to know", and for Dudley now, he thinks he has not yet fully integrated into this world. If he sees his past life self in the mirror, wouldn't that be a revelation?
However, the violent knocking on the door still woke him up.
A sleepy Ron and an extremely excited Harry appeared at the door.
"Okay, stop shouting, I'll go with you guys."
Dudley sighed, but he was the one who had to hold up the invisibility cloak. After all, with the heights of Harry and Ron, two people stacked together would probably only be a little taller than him. Fortunately, the invisibility cloak was as big as a bed sheet. The three of them groped in the chilly corridor for a long time before they found the room Harry mentioned.
"Look, aren't they right here?"
As soon as Harry saw Lily and James, his face lit up with joy.
"What? I only saw the two of us."
Ron rubbed his eyes. Indeed, there were only two little guys in pajamas in the mirror.
"It should only be effective when there is only one person."
Dudley corrected the use of the magic mirror in time.
Sure enough, Ron became the student council president and held the Quidditch trophy.
"That's weird, what's going on?"
Harry scratched his head. He had already put on the glasses the Dursleys had given him. The old lenses fit perfectly into the new frames.
“Isn’t this written?”
Dudley pointed backwards at a circle of words on the top of the magic mirror.
"I show you not your face, but your desire."
He was pointing in the opposite direction, so Harry and Ron noticed that the nonsense words had turned into a coherent sentence, which also revealed the meaning of the Mirror of Erised.
"Bull dagger!"
Ron couldn't help but give a thumbs up.
"How did you know this, cousin? Did Hermione tell you?"
Harry blinked. He really couldn't figure out who else around him liked to hang out in the library every day.
"It doesn't matter, Harry. It looks like this is something that every one of us wants to see. So what will Dudley see?"
"Becoming the Hogwarts boxing champion... Oh, there is no such sport in Hogwarts."
Ron's thoughts always jumped out of control, Dudley shrugged.
"Who can guarantee that? Maybe in second grade, I'll create one?"
As he spoke, Dudley looked into the mirror.
The dim light made the image a little blurry. Dudley blinked hard and saw only himself in the mirror.
"Is this thing broken?"
Ron and Harry looked at each other; they didn't know either.
"Wait, there's a picture!"
Dudley said happily, but when he saw the scene in the mirror, he was stunned.
Why am I beating up a pale-skinned bald guy in the picture?
Next to him is a surprised Cedric?
What about the Death Eaters?
