Hogwarts: The Savior's Strong Cousin
Chapter 223 The Future of the Entire Family
At this moment, a scream broke the situation. They turned their heads and found a huge black wolf appeared in front of them, with its teeth bared, as if warning them to leave.
"Run!" a child shouted in horror.
They all turned and ran away, leaving four friends from the Harry Potter world on the scene. The black wolf howled beside them, signaling them to leave.
"Thank you, Black Wolf." Arya gently touched Black Wolf's head to express her gratitude.
The black wolf seemed to understand her words and turned away. Sansa and Joffrey also breathed a sigh of relief. They did not want a conflict, but just wanted to play happily with Arya.
"I think we should go back." Sansa suggested, "After all, it's getting late and we need to go home."
On the way home, Sansa, Joffrey, and Arya walked slowly along the path. In the valley in the distance, the setting sun gradually sank to the west, dyeing the sky orange and red. The breeze blew, and the leaves rustled softly, and the fallen leaves made a subtle sound on the ground.
Suddenly, a low roar broke the silence, coming from deep in the woods. Sansa and Joffrey's faces instantly became solemn, and they immediately looked around vigilantly.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Arya asked, a hint of anxiety in her eyes.
"Perhaps a wild beast has appeared," Joffrey replied warily.
At this moment, a huge dire wolf suddenly rushed out from the bushes, staring at them fiercely, with its hair tufted and its eyes flashing with ferocity, as if it was about to attack them.
"Be careful!" Sansa shouted a warning, pulling Arya to try to pull her to safety.
But the direwolf was already at Joffrey, its teeth gleaming and hissing.
Joffrey's face turned pale, and he tried to retreat, but the direwolf had already caught up with him and bit his arm. Joffrey groaned in pain, but he endured the pain and tried to break free from the direwolf's bite.
"Joffrey!" Arya cried in horror, her heart filled with anxiety and worry when she saw her friend injured.
Seeing this, Sansa rushed towards the direwolf without hesitation and tried to drive it away with the stick in her hand.
"Let him go!" Sansa screamed, swinging her stick in an attempt to drive the direwolf away from Joffrey.
But the direwolf didn't seem afraid. It growled and continued to bite Joffrey, refusing to let go.
At this moment, a sharp whistle sounded. From the depths of the woods, a figure rushed out and quickly approached them.
"Leave quickly!" A voice came, full of command and majesty.
He was a man wearing leather armor and holding a spear. There was a firm light in his eyes, and he seemed to be an experienced hunter.
He rushed to Joffrey's side quickly, swinging his spear, trying to drive the direwolf away. Under his spear, the direwolf finally felt the pressure, hesitated slightly, and then turned and ran away.
Joffrey gently rubbed his bitten arm, a layer of sweat on his forehead, and looked at the hunter gratefully, his heart full of gratitude.
“Thank you, stranger,” Joffrey said. “You saved my life.”
The hunter nodded, said nothing, and turned away. His figure quickly disappeared into the depths of the woods.
Joffrey winced in pain, holding his bitten arm, his face full of pain and anger. He did not hesitate to complain to his parents, because he knew that this injury might affect his future life.
"Dad, Mom!" Joffrey cried out in pain, with a hint of tears in his voice, "Arya's direwolf bit me!"
Eddard Stark and Catelyn Stark came over immediately after hearing their son's cry, with worried expressions on their faces.
"What happened?!" Caitlin asked with concern, and she hurriedly checked her son's wound.
"Yes, Mom and Dad! Arya's direwolf bit me!" Joffrey repeated his accusation. "I was playing with Sansa by the river, and Arya's direwolf suddenly attacked me."
Catelyn frowned, with a hint of anger in her eyes. As a mother, she had an incomparable sense of protection for her children. If Arya's direwolf really hurt Joffrey, then measures must be taken to restrain it.
"Arya!" Catelyn called her daughter's name sternly, "Come here quickly!"
Arya heard her mother's voice and immediately realized that something was wrong. She looked at Sansa, hoping that her sister could speak a fair word for her.
"Sansa, you must know that the direwolf listens to me very much. I will not let it hurt Joffrey." Arya tried to explain to her sister, "You will come forward to speak a fair word for me, right?"
Sansa was silent for a moment, she knew that this conflict might lead to greater trouble. But she knew clearly that as the eldest daughter in the family, she had the responsibility to protect her brother's safety.
"I...I will tell the truth," Sansa finally answered, her voice hesitant. "But I need to know the truth."
Catelyn was relieved to hear Sansa's answer. She knew that her daughter Sansa was an upright and intelligent girl, and her judgment would not be biased. But she still needed to conduct a thorough investigation of the matter to determine what happened.
"Arya, go to your room and wait. We'll talk later." Catelyn gave her daughter an order. She needed time to think calmly in order to make the right decision.
In the family courtyard, Catelyn sat on an old bench, thinking solemnly. She knew that this incident might cause conflicts within the family, because the relationship between Arya and Joffrey was not harmonious.
Sansa walked quietly to Catelyn's side. She looked at her mother with hesitation and anxiety in her eyes.
"Mother, I...I want to talk to you." Sansa said softly. She knew she had to decide what to do now.
Catelyn turned her head and looked at Sansa. She knew that her daughter might be under great pressure now. But she believed that Sansa had enough wisdom and courage to deal with it all.
"Tell me, honey, what do you think?" Caitlin asked softly, her voice full of motherly love and support.
Sansa took a deep breath. She knew that what she was about to say might affect the future of the entire family. "I think I should...I should tell my father and mother that I have forgotten the conflict between me and Arya." Sansa hesitated and said, "I think this is for the unity of the family."
